We found this company on yelp recommendations for tree services. We contacted them at 8:00 in the…read moremorning and asked if they gave free estimates, and specified that we did not want any work done till we had a quote and confirmed. They arrived with in 30 minutes of the quoted time. After looking at the situations, we asked for a quote for just tree cutting (cutting the fallen tree to manageable sections) and one quote for complete removal. The complete removal was quoted to be $1400. I said that it sounded great and asked him to please send me a written quote to ensure that the price and work expectations will be the same. He said okay, and asked me to text the email to him. Within roughly less than 3 hours, and 4 exchanges... he finally sent me a written quote of $2100. When inquired if it was an error, he texted back and said "It's not a mistake; sometimes it happens when you look for several quotes and then you make a decision" 10:20 I texted my email to him as requested at the end of meeting 11:50 He texted me and that he sent the quote. He only sent for cut only, not for cut and haul. So I immediately asked for a full clearing quote. 1:09 I get the quote for full clear and asked if it was an error - much more than discussed 1:19 he said "It's not a mistake; sometimes it happens when you look for several quotes and then you make the decisions." A company that literally jacked up your price because you were shopping for a quote - is not trustworthy to perform work without written quote.. Would not recommend work without written quote for buyer protection. We did not have them waiting for an unreasonable amount of time by any stretch of the imagination - most of it was waiting for them to send me written quotes. Pictures just to give you the idea of how interested I was and really wanted a written estimate.

After coming out in person to assess the trees, they provided us with what seemed like a solid, straightforward quote. We scheduled the work based on that agreement -- only for them to come back later demanding a higher price ($400 more) and insisting they also take the cut wood that we very clearly said we wanted to keep. They used to excuse for wanting to take the wood as there reason to not complete the job. As if that wasn't frustrating enough, communication completely fell apart after that. They stopped responding, never followed through on the revised plans, and ultimately wasted our time. We rearranged our schedules for their availability, only to be left hanging with no explanation. Professionalism, reliability, and honest pricing matter -- and unfortunately, this company fell short on all three. I would not recommend them based on our experience.

At one point my husband and I were outside giving them hot chocolate and we offered to give them their money right then. He said no, that he would get it when they're done. They completely removed two dead trees & ground up the stumps as well. We have two more trees that need to be removed, but since it's close to Christmas those will have to wait. I made sure that my husband got their contact information so that we could use them in the future. To say that I highly recommend this company is a complete understatement! Hired them to install retaining walls and to stop water from deteriorating the my front yard. They…read more only installed a few small drains in the front yard to fix the problem. Every year I have had to call them because now the water still runs across my yard but now digs a large hole 6-8 feet long x 5-6 wide x 6-8 deep exposing their drain lines. I call and all they would do is fill in the hole and say they would have to do something else (but never do). This year they refused to take my calls and would not pay me the respect to return my calls. Thus, Lawn Masters does not stand behind their work! So let the buyer beware. I suggest you look elsewhere to have your landscaping done, if you want it done right and warranted.
