I've driven past this course probably 50 times in the past few years when I'm at the river and finally decided to give it a shot in November. Normally November isn't hot at all, overcast and a little wind chill.. but this past November it was a solid 98 degrees during the day and after a night of drinking, we decided to just hit the range. The driving range isn't made as a practice center to just swing, it's the usual quick smaller ranges to warm up before your tee time. I believe it was $8 for a small bucket at the pro shop up front. The course looked serious, I definitely didn't have the balls(golf) for it because I'm pretty sure I'd lose a whole dozen on shanks alone before we consider hazards. Staff members seemed nice and the course looked very well maintained from a distance, given the heat the locals (assuming) did not shy away! I'll have to get my strokes down before I can play a course like this one. It would be so cool to come out here for the back 9 and then hit the water in the future. read more

Our teatime was set up and it was available when we got there. The folks at the counter were very helpful of course is beautiful. The cart was clean and dependable and we played good golf. What else could you ask for? Thanks for a great day. We used to do lessons and golfing, but the lessons portion went away for whatever reason but we'll be back. Keep it green. read more

This course is a must play if you are in the area. Customer service was superb. Like most of the reviews say if you have never played here or are new to golf this course might kick your butt. Most holes are pretty demanding off the tee with skinny fairways and blind Tshots. Greens rolled pretty true but not that fast compared to what I'm used to. T boxes were not in the best shape (I am a Tbox snob). Fairways were in pretty good shape. Pace of play was great, T'd off at 2:00 on a Saturday was done by 5:30. If I was just giving a review on conditions alone, I would probably rate it 3.5. With the views, course layout, and customer service I have to give it 5. All in all, place is worth coming to play just for the experience alone if I get the chance to come back I will. read more

This is a beautiful well maintained golf course. The staff is awesome and has a great sense of humor. Adrian was really helpful. She tried to help us even when she had a tournament full of people tried to get her attention at the same time. So I start every review with five stars and deduct accordingly. First, the course is beautiful and in great shape. Pretty challenging for the beginner and moderate experienced golfers. Booked a tee time on a Spring Saturday. 2:00 o'clock the only time available. We arrived about 12:30 and grabbed a bite in the small clubhouse. Very good hot dog by the way. Decided to hit balls while we waited. The lady at the start was very matter a fact but in a pleasant way. Let's just say she knows her job and is good at it. She actually let us tee off at 1:41 since no one else was waiting. Now it goes downhill from there. During our 18 holes we never encountered a cart girl. No outside coolers of beverages allowed. It would have been nice to have a cold beverage, thank goodness the weather other than the wind was mild. Apparently they had had a tournament early morning but another group told us the last tournament group was still playing at a verrrrrrrrry slow pace. Once we got to the 11th hole there were 2 groups waiting to tee off in front of us and four groups behind us. At about 6:00 on the 15th hole a older lady drove the cart up and said she was going to hurry the groups up in front of us. 3 groups behind us said they weren't going to finish and left. 30 minutes later and the 17th hole (Apparently some don't know what hurry up means) the player attendant told us the sprinklers were set to come on not to stand on or near them. Huh? Long story short it took over five hours to play 18 holes. Something that should have taken 4. Again the course is beautiful and challenging but they should have taken control of the slow group long before the 15th hole. And get a cart girl or tell the one you have she's not very good at it. The staff here is incredibly rude. Paid $60 per person for a 1:26 tee time. Plenty of time to finish. Got kicked off the course on hole 17 because they let a group of six out in front of us and the Marshalls didn't do their job and keep up pace of play. Which is surprising because it feels like they have 10 marshals out on the course at any given time driving around. To add insult to injury. They let the group of six finish all 18 holes. Amazing course with amazing views and great staff. This is maybe the best public golf course I've ever been to. Lots of wildlife overlooking the Colorado River and mountain views that are some of the best in America. I travel more than most and this place is one of the most scenic places I've been. Wish I had read the reviews before coming here. I've never left a bad review before, but this place deserves it. We have NEVER golfed somewhere where they harass you this badly about keeping time. The reason it's so backed up is they start everyone's tee time early so they can accommodate as many walk ins as they can. All about money. Our tee time was supposed to be 10 started us at 9:40. We were always waiting on the person ahead of us yet still getting badgered to go faster when it's not even possible. Yet balls are flying all around us from the group behind. Don't come here unless you're an old pro. They should offer refunds, we won't be finishing the full 18. read more

We are from the east coast and found this place about 20 minutes south of lake Havasu where we are staying. We got there about an hour early and unfortunately the range was closed for lessons, but the guy at the pro shop still gave us the twilight rate . For what we paid, this course was a slam dunk. The course was in great shape. Greens read true and the tee boxes looked great. The course is challenging for new comers who don't know all the angles and blind spots but that also makes it really fun. You tee off from blind spots, elevated surfaces and interesting angles. When we stopped at the turn we got two strong drinks and two hot dogs for $16, what we consider a steal. Overall I would absolutely recommend this course. The service was good, the price was good and the course was great with amazing views at every turn! read more

Easily the best course in the area. Fair prices and they give you free waters to compensate for their no cooler rule. All the holes had beautiful views and are pretty challenging. If your off the fairway, you going to lose some balls. Staff were friendly along the other players. Definitely a must for a golfer in the area read more

Beautiful course and greens were spectacular. We had a fourth person join us. The mower driver screamed at him in my back swing like a maniac. WOW! The player assistant was on us all day to speed up. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS COURSE. My two friends and I traveled from California to play this weekend and we were hassled by the Marshall IMMEDIATELY after teeing off about keeping the pace of play. Apparently, the men's club has the most priority and could care less about anyone else trying to enjoy their $70 ROUND. We golf all over the place and have NEVER been met with so much unprofessionalism. Customer service lacks in every department and I will never spend my money here ever again. read more

This was the seventh year we traveled to AZ to play golf here. The course itself is just fine, picturesque even. On 2/25/2020 we played the course. As we were leaving, we noticed that a transmission hose broke on our truck. We were staying in Laughlin NV. Two guys accompanied the tow truck to Parker AZ. The other two guys tried to get a rental. To no luck. The club house was closing. The staff couldn't care less. Stating they were closing and don't know what your going to do ? Just then the lady selling hot dogs helped find some numbers to call for potential rides. This helped find us a ride. So Props to the hot dog lady and again thank you. For the rest of the staff, may you never get any help when your in need. We will never be back and I hope this deters anyone from playing there. read more

JUST AMAZING .JUST AMAZING played a couple of times in mid feb. 2021 what else to say about the emerald,,it is beyond beautiful ,and very very challenging,staff very friendly and helpful ,,course was in impecable shape with greens and fairways quite maintained ,as i am a course worker ,i can attest to the conditions,,,some of the holes are quite difficult but also fun to play,overall it is a must play course ,,P.S. take plenty of extra balls along if you dont hit em straight..,,DEFINITELY GOING BACK NEXT WINTER. and you can contiue on down the road and take in the desert bar read more

cautionary warning I am only a ride-along / gallery attendee :-) Being married to golfer I can either sit at home or opt to be a ride along... I am a nature nut so this wonderful golf course is one of my all time favorites. As a player my husband loves this county-owned course. We are in the area during March and he plays here at least once during our trip, sometimes as many as three times a month. The prices are amazingly reasonable and a single player usually has no problem getting on. The holes are challenging but the best thing is the layout. Definitely not a walking course there tremendous elevation changes as you start at the river level and then drive back under the highway to the canyons in the Buckskin mountains. The vistas are stunning. The course itself rates 4/5 from 'two guys who golf' so their website can tell you more about the technical aspects of it. The only detraction off 5 stars they gave, -1, was because the club house was nothing fancy but the food is adequate. There are amazing sights, smells and surprises on this course so be sure to take your camera. There are monster lizards on one of the holes, just ask in the clubhouse.. loads of other wildlife too, Quail, Coyote, lots of rabbits and birds. Mind the snakes when you have to retrieve your ball from the oob areas. We have never encountered one but they are out there. I think one of *the* most telling things for you sticks out there is when we a invite a golfer along who has never had the opportunity to play here before. They are always impressed and say it's one of the most enjoyable courses they've ever played, and that they would definitely come back. Being the non golfer that I am, I always have the option of heading to the nearby Blue Water casino for a few hours but I enjoy being out on this course so much it's tough to turn down an invitation to hop in the cart :-) read more

I love this course. It has a great layout, lots of elevated tee boxes, and really fun holes to shoot. The scenery is fantastic, as you'll see in the many photos that I posted. Don't expect much in the way of amenities though. The clubhouse is more like a snackbar and there are some pretty grumpy government workers manning the counters inside. The marshals and starters, however, are very cool and you won't be disappointed with the overall experience of this course. I liked it so much that I cancelled my plans to play The Refuge the following day and went back to Emerald Canyon for another round. read more

This course is a hidden gem in Parker Arizona. Anyone who golfs here will love it. It is not a very long track but challenging especially if you spray the ball. I visit here every year at the end of March and the course is always in great condition. Be sure to call a head of time to get a tee time if you plan on golfing in the early spring as there may still be a lot of snow birds on town golfing here. read more

Fun course, great views at a reasonable price. Much shenanigans (and BS) in pro shop. Booking clerk gives out false and misleading info. Make sure when you get a written confirmation get the clerk to initial your reservation. We had a reserved tee time at 1:07. Showed up at 12:30, advised that our tee time was 1:45, end of discussion! Our reservation was clearly erased! I suspect a member slipped a few bucks to someone in the pro shop to get a preferential tee time and we got bumped. As a result we only got 16 holes before dark. I have played this course at least once a year for the past 10 years. I keep coming back because I like the golf and the atmosphere, things changed this year. This a "county course" and the employees need to realize this is NOT TPC Scottsdale. Harassing people that pay $75.00 to play a muni course is not going to get return play! This course is not long but is difficult, it takes 4 1/5 to 5 hours during the winter and employees need to take this into consideration before threating move players balls. The only other place I have been treated this way is TPC and I will not go back there. read more

My son Kyle and I absolutely love this golf course. My Father-In-Law is 77 years young and he loves it too! Talk about a Desert Oasis? This place is awesome. Elevated T Boxes with straight forward fairways. You can clearly see what to avoid making this track one you want to play over and over. The staff is amazing too! This is a beautiful and amazing course that is not expensive to play. You get your money's worth at Emerald. The views are amazing and there is an abundance of wildlife. Do use caution when looking for lost balls and in general because there are typically rattlesnakes in the area. If you golf this is a must play course for any skill level. read more

I only get to play this course when I visit the area. It's one of my favorite anywhere. This little course has it all, beauty, challenge, fun greens (you don't see that very often) and you get to see a sign that says "270 yards to edge of cliff" on one of the back 9 tee boxes. I've putted for eagle (and missed) twice on that hole now. I think the cliff works in my favor. Play this course if you can. read more
