I attended an event at Ember recently and it was.... strange. It's an old building with some pretty cool character, but the layout of the event was very disjointed. There was one room with tables (very crowded together) and a bar and the other side of the building had casino tables and a silent auction set up. There was also a set of stairs that led to the upper level which got a bit crowded. It's a unique venue that might work for smaller groups, but for this 150+ group it felt really cramped. I really liked the old feeling of the building-the charm and history make it special rather than a new, modern place. But make sure that vibes with the ambience you want for your event. read more

DO NOT book this venue if you value AC for your event. (Pay attention to the other reviews on all platforms regarding AC) I rented the space for my daughter's wedding in the summer and it was absolutely miserable. All of our guests were suffering from heat exhaustion. When I booked the facility and took a tour earlier in the year I expressed that my number one concern was air-conditioning. They reassured me that it would be working. On the day of the event they still claimed it was working, but it could not cool down their venue. It was 90° inside. They had about 10 fans all around that hardly helped. There is no water fountain there. One of the bathroom faucet handles was broken off. The small sink behind the counter was non-functioning. On the plus side of things: The staff was great and helpful. It's a unique and eclectic space. To the owner: Why would you rent a venue that you can't maintain the air? This obviously was not unique to my day as noted in other reviews. The most memorable day of my daughter's life, and your lack of upkeep made it a negative memory despite all the fun we had. SAVED MY WEDDING First of all I was a total shit show when my original wedding venue closed their doors. Everything was a wreck and we didn't know what to do or even what we could afford. My whole experience with this venue was wonderful. Even though due to the pandemic we had to drastically cut the amount of guests, I had the perfect wedding. They did so many small things that made my day go off without incident. Many things that were just so helpful and did not go without notice. Casey was organized and made me feel really relaxed about the whole event. I got a layout of the event, which was freaking awesome. The vibe of this place is really cozy. Beautiful brick and cool bar to utilize. Times are tough right now for everyone, so if you do have an event you wanna hold - look no further this is your place. read more

Awesome new venue and Marketplace next to Decades on State street! Haven't hosted an event here yet but plan to because it is huge and super elegant. Some of my friends inquired about using it for a wedding venue this Saturday. I have a candle company that's local in Salt Lake City and is the owners of Ember host vendor market places pretty often starting either in January or February of 2018. Ember owners contacted me via my candle companies Instagram (@belightcandleco) and sent me an application to apply for the market they were hosting this last Saturday March 17th from 12-7pm. I should have previously gone to the market before paying to be a vendor at it considering it ended up being a painfully slow day. From what I heard from other vendors, that was super unusual. Not only that but it was rainy, cold, and cloudy. Having it on St Patrick's Day also meant that I here was a lot of other stuff going on in the city the same day. I told my friend to check the venue out for her future wedding reception and since she was helping me pack my stuff for the event and was at the booth most of the day, it made it easy for her to get a tour from the person organizing the event who may have been the owner as well, Ashley. She said pricing was super good and The owner was accommodating to answer any questions and inquiries they had. MY 5 MONTH OLD SON WAS INJURED AT THEIR VENUE & THEY REFUSE TO PAY THE HOSPITAL BILL . I Attended a wedding for my brother-in-law back in June 2021 at Ember. At the end of the night on the outside patio my mother-in-law was holding my 5 month old son when a 12 foot metal pole holding up their patio lights broke away from the fence (which was not attached to the floor, it was only held to the fence with a simple zip tie) and fell on them, hitting my son directly in the front of his head. We had to take him to the hospital immediately. We alerted the venue that we expected them to pay the hospital bill ($810 and they agreed to pay) but the manager Ashlee has been dodging us ever since and we have yet to see payment from them. We have reached out via letters, phone and email and NOTHING. Unfortunately we do not live in the state otherwise we would head down there in person. read more

Great space for an event, has a modern industrial feel. Cozy, has an open ceiling so it feels wide open at the same time. Easy to find.

We had an amazing wedding at Ember! During COVID-19 our plans changed a lot -- from a big event to a smaller, intimate ceremony and dinner with mostly family, all on a short timeline. Ember's team worked with us every step of the way on details big and small to plan our event *from scratch* in a few short months. They had a very good relationship with our wedding planner, and things moved seamlessly on our wedding day. Just to emphasize how dedicated they were to great service -- they accidentally gave us a different model of chairs for our reception dinner. They were the ones who noticed it and refunded us a small amount for it. Really amazing and dedicated service, especially with a COVID wedding! read more

Booked appt online to tour facility at 10AM. I called to confirm and she said it was 10:30. Got here at 10:29 and waited until 10:50am and still no one here to show me the place!!! Ember was a great event venue for a corporate meeting space. The space was very unique and has a very urban and industrial feel with a lot of exposed brick. They had a really great staff, were fairly priced, booking was really easy, and there event coordinator keep in constant communication with us. They provided in-house furniture and a/v rentals and were able to suggest a great caterer. I will definitely be using them again and highly recommend others look at their space. read more

Ember was the perfect place to host a formal for our sorority! The staff was super helpful and allowed us to create a space relevant to our theme. There was plenty of space that allowed everyone room to converse as well as dance. It felt very intimate, and I love how you are allowed to bring in food trucks as a meal option. It was especially beautiful in the spring time with the outdoor space blooming. We are hosting another event there this spring and cannot wait to work with Ember again. read more

We booked a small portion of Ember for a video shoot and it worked out perfectly for what we needed. The space has great light and many different areas to pick from. It seems like it would work great for many different kinds of events as well whether it's weddings, corporate, showers, etc. There's different rooms with different sizes which makes it nice to choose from. read more

Incredibly disappointing for a wedding venue. One of the four staff present was a downright beast to some of the guests (as an observer, the guests did nothing wrong). I certainly hope she is not part owner, as your business will not be around long. This poor customer service does not bode well for a long future in the wedding venue business. They were disorganized and still decorating right before the wedding. The place was musty smelling (more like urine). The bartender was slow and poured the drinks WAY too strong (clearly not metered). When the hosts were told they would have to dump the unopened liquor (state law, of course that is true) and not take it home, instead of dumping in the presence of the hosts at the sink at the bar, it "disappeared" to be dumped in secret. Very suspicious it was not discarded at all. Not a great experience. The only bright spot is this was all kept from the bride and groom and they were happy. So there's that. read more

We just had a sorority formal with approximately 220 guests and it went SO well!!! We had dinner (sat approximately 80 comfortably) in Spark and dancing in Ember and everybody loved it! So many seniors said things like, "That was the best formal venue ever!!" It was beautiful and magical, and Casey and Ashlee were so easy going and incredibly helpful before, during, and after the event. We would definitely recommend this venue to everybody!!!
