Customized Wig Review - $3700 dumpster fire. This review is one of the most difficult unfavorable reviews I have ever written because I really like the owners Burt & Jen of Embassy Studio and Jazmine of The Hair Closet as people. As hair professionals who stand by the high end customized wigs offered by their businesses, not so much. I'll start by saying that my hair loss is not a topic that I openly discuss with friends or family. Identifying ways to reverse loss and repair damaged follicles has been quite the journey for me. During this process, several professionals (my dermatologist, my hairstylist Jae and a Stuart Edmonson representative) recommended I invest in a customized full cap unit (wigs/hairpiece), allowing me to care for my hair during its regrowth process. Jae of Hair Closet, scheduled a fitting and consultation with Burt & Jen of Embassy Studio for the purchase of my very first custom unit. On the advice of Jae, I ordered a $3,200 unit which she described as an "investment" that will last for years and costs less than non-customized options. I did so and was told it takes 2.5 - 4 months. Long story short, it arrived in 9 months later and in a color that I did not order or like. Jae pushed back on coloring it stating it would terminate the warranty, but proceeded to cut & style it for $55. Jae says she changed the color as to avoid coloring it & encouraged me to wear it. Upon deciding the color was not a good fit and did not look natural, I contacted Jen at Embassy about the color. Jen shared that there is no warranty after the unit is cut so it could be colored. Upon learning this, Jae asked that I schedule an appointment to have it colored (even though it was not the color I ordered). After paying to have it colored, washed & styled, I tried it on at home & it no longer fit! It was TOO big. During my next visit to Jae for my own hair, I brought it back & pointed out it is stretched out of shape. Jae advised it could be adjusted by Embassy and suggested using "got2bglued" to secure it until it is adjusted. Once again, I paid to have it washed, styled & secured using got2bglued until it could be adjusted. When I made it home, more money wasted.......it slid off after being told it would hold for a week. I personally called Jen and she asked me to come in to have it adjusted. After it was adjusted and clips were added by a professional at Embassy, I paid Jae once again to wash & style it. I put it on using the clips and it seemed to fit at first, but thirty minutes later, a friend pointed out it slid back past my natural hairline, forcing us to go into the bathroom and fish out bobby pins to hold it in place. Even with clips and bobby pins, it did not stay in place. I elected to share this financially and emotionally draining experience as to afford others the benefit of making an informed decision. I spent over $3700 on a full lace custom unit (after paying for a cut & color and regular washes) that cannot be worn even with glue! It sheds and tangles more than OTC units in my opinion. Absent securing a 6 month, no questions asked warranty, I would recommend against purchasing a customized unit from The Hair Closet, Embassy Studio a/k/a Embassy Neograft OR Hairline Creations. read more

My review is only regarding the PRP procedure. I was not prepared for the high & intense level of pain I experienced. The practitioner tried her best but I had to have my scalp anesthesized 3 times. Even after that, the needles still hurt a lot. The pain continued even afterwards for a number of days. Had I had a clue of how painful the procedure would be, I would have never opted for this, especially considering g the price. I was also told that I would need to have repeated sessions to see any significant hair volume. when I first talked with reps months before. I feel duped. Absolutely terrible service. I called somewhere around 10-12 times to schedule an appointment and each time I was greeted with a new excuse as to why I couldn't make an appointment. Things like "oh, let me see, oh they are in a surgery right now, can you call back at 1:30" and when I would call back at that time someone would pick up and then hang up. I got hung up on 7 or 8 times. FINALLY, after calling 3 times in a row (was hung up on the first 2 times) the person told me they are no longer accepting appointments for Botox. Why they didn't tell me that the first 10-11 times I called, I have no clue. I am pretty sure this isn't even a legitimate business and they just started a business so that they could sell Groupon's but didn't actually have a location or a business. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE -- bought a groupon for juviderm and was pleased with the results, so i bought another but then decided to wait, the first syringe did decent job. in the meantime, kept coming to them for botox... fast forward two years later, ready to use groupon... they would not honor. kept repeating "we don't do groupons anymore... we don't do groupons anymore..." i guess it doesn't matter that you got my $350 right? i kept repeating "i understand I can't get the deal, can you just give me a credit for something... anything...?" I was hoping to get a credit and then buy two syringes of radiesse (CHA-CHING $$$), or some other filler but they just kept saying WE DON'T DO GROUPONS ANYMORE... thankfully and luckily groupon stepped in and helped, YAY! If I could give this place less than 1 star I would do that. I had my hair colored at this place and they turned my hair GREEN. The stylist, Rita, totally ruined my hair - permanently. My hair is now sticky and falling out at the roots. I am now going to have to shave all my hair off as there are no other solutions. Jennifer, the manager/owner, was extremely rude. She blamed me for my turning green hair and then threatened me saying she "would have her lawyers bury me" if I tried to dispute my credit card charge. If you love your hair, DON'T GO HERE. Let's start off with the positive..I'm giving 1 star because CECE was a nice lady and was very comforting. I'm sure if you pay full price, she will give you the full vile. BUT the groupon is definitely a scam. DO NOT BUY THE JUVEDERM GROUPON!!! She claims to have injected me with 1 full vile of Juvederm. She absolutely did not. Based on the opinions of multiple doctors and nurses, showing them 13 before and after pictures, ( I work at a salon and we have dozens of clients that are doctors or nurses, etc) they all are 100% sure that it definitely wasn't the full vile, probably half.. When I first saw that the full vile was for $349, I thought it was too good to be true seeing as they buy the full vile for about $350 anyway. Could it be that she was basically doing it for absolutely no profit?? Like an idiot, I buy it anyway knowing it wasn't making sense. she also kept stepping away during the procedure and going behind me to her table where the tools were and that was a red flag right away. she DID NOT numb me and it was the most excruciating pain I've felt in my entire life!!! I got so dizzy and almost passed out from the pain. When I couldn't take the pain anymore, she showed me that i had only a tiny bit left and I immediately wondered "WTF!?!?!? THATS IT?!?" I have reviewed Embassy before (5 starts as well), but I wanted to update my review for the new injection specialist. Rhonda did my juvederm and botox about a month ago, and the results were great. I have a bit of acne scarring on my lower cheek near the side of my mouth, and Rhonda was able to inject the juvederm and crosshatch in a way that lifted it. 1 month out, it still looks great! Bought the Groupon for the 12-session FDA-approved laser therapy for hair loss. Lost a ton of hair when I became hypothyroid so this seemed like a deal ($100). It was tough getting there for 12 30-minutes sessions (maybe I only made it to 11 sessions), but my hair is definitely growing in front. Lot of new hair along the hairline only four weeks after my last session. Easy meter parking on LaSalle or Superior. The ladies here are absolutely lovely (mother and daughter?). My only recommendation would be to provide the educational brochure on the first visit. I finally asked on the third visit and was given one right away. Would definitely recommend Embassy if you are suffering from hair loss! read more

I planned my visit to Embassy Studios. Twice, actually. My first appointment was cancelled by the owner, for the lady that supposed to do the Juvederm was not able to come to work because "the weather was bad." ?! (March 3th). The second time when I finally went to the appointment Cece, the clinical manager as she answered my question wheatear she is nurse or doctor) told me that she could not inject the Juvederm in the glabellar area as it is not recommended, mentioning even necrosis as a side effect, (a plastic surgeon recommended in my case Juvederm over Botox for better results), and she insisted to sell me Botox. She stated that she has 16 years of experience, so I should trust her. (Juvederm was approved by FDA in 2006, so I wondered what experience she was talking about.) That after, over the phone prior to my purchase from Groupon, a lady called Jeniffer (I learned that she is the owner) assured me that Juvederm is used to glabellar area. Cece told me that if I insist with Juvederm, she will ask me to sign a consent that I am directly responsible for the consequences. I agreed. She said that she will go to WRITE the consent and come back; instead, she returned with a blond lady, who again tried to convince me to buy Botox or, eventually, to refund. I chose to refund being tired of the pillow on the window, the brownish blanket from the "surgical chair", the papers without letterhead, and, above all, of people who do not know the meaning of the words "client" and "professionalism." Extreme unprofessional conduct starting from how they answered the phone (I even asked if I called to Embassy Studios, let aside that I needed to ask for the names every single time, and I was called ironically by the owner "sweetheart" when I corrected her that it is one hour between the cancelation phone call and the appointment, not one hour and a half as she says) to how they exercised their job. read more

This Place turned into a Horrortrip for my Wife.We called to make an appointment,which was taken care of.When we arrived the hairpiece which was waiting for my Wife was already torn in places!My Wife was told that this was normal!The hole was somewhat repaired.We paid ( 1600 Dollar ) for the piece and went home. After using it for about three Weeks it became all frizzy and tangelt.We called this Studio to get some help but we where just screamed at and they just hang up on us.We than ask another professionals opinion and where told it was only a piece to last three month and not a year what they and the price told us.It seems that this Studio is cheating People and we cannot recommend this Studio to anyone who is looking for Quality products! read more

Really terrible servies. Guys, never waste your money on this studio! The products they sell for hair loss: stuart edmondson, are all available online at a 60% price lower than what they sold. OMG, I was a customer for 6 months until I found the products they sold to me is 1.5 higher price than the producer's price. For example, the Shampoo and Conditioner they sold me is 75 for each, in total $150, online in total is $67. I called them up, asking why they sold to me much higher, they said well, because there's other services they provided including scalp examination, however, the first time they told me is all the scalp examination is free and the 150 is only for the products. A woman named Jennifer was very cold via e-mail after telling her I just got diagnosed with cancer, was starting treatment, and looking for a wig. Her response was cold, informal, and unprofessional. Not even a "thank you" in sending her e-mail. After meeting with her, she again was standoffish and didn't properly fit me for any wigs. She basically gave me one (extremely small) display wig and handed me a mirror. I left unsatisfied. When I e-mailed her 2 weeks later asking to come back in for more fittings, she did not respond. I would not recommend this place to any one because of it's terrible staff and service...especially toward a young woman asking for help when she is undergoing chemotherapy for a newly diagnosed cancer. read more

I bought a hair system from embassy studios, they told me that the system will stay on for 3 to 4 weeks and will need service after 4 weeks. i paid $900 dollars for a (lace front system) based on the owner suggestion because this system looks real. the workers couldn't get the system to stick on so 2 hours later they suggested that i switch a poly system cause it will hold on better so i did, the problem is the new hair system kept coming off , i had to get it bonded 6 times in one month. so they told me that my problem is i sweat to much and i need Botox to block my sweat glands so i said after my vacation i will. i went on vacation to Miami after i got there the hair system came off immediately so i went to a local hair salon where they used different bond and the system is been on for 3 weeks with no problems. I asked embassy studios to refund me my money or switch me back to a lace front system and use the same bond the guy in Miami used, but they refused. i got the system installed on march 29th and they had to re bond it 6 times. on may 5 i got the system bonded in Miami and till today may 26 the system is still holding strong. reply to Jennifer i forgot to mention Jennifer also suggested that i get Botox shots in my scalp. this business is not accredited by the better business bureau. here is a break down of what Jennifer did -march 30 i paid $900 dollars for front lace, her worker was unable to bond system on -April 1 she got me a poly system and she promised it will hold (next day) -April 8 i came back system has lifted (they re-bonded it) -April 15 system came off completely (they re-bonded it) they gave me glue to do it my self -April 15 they gave me glue to bond it my self i was having to bond the front every other day -may 3 went in for service before my vacation paid 85$ -may 5 traveled to Miami, system completely came off after couple hours in the sun -may 6 went to hair salon in Miami they used the right bond and my hair system is still holding strong 3 weeks later, i was swimming in salt water, working out, and laying on the beach for 5 days with no problems. after i returned i contacted Jennifer and asked if i can get my (front lace system) she said no and she shut the phone in my face (very proffessionl). i do workout a lot but if the a salon in Miami was able to get my hair system to work then the problem is not sweat, its the lack of knowledge by this business. no wonder why they have so many bad reviews. i have filed a small claim against them. I have contacted some of the big you tubers in Chicago that do business reviews i will post the links on here soon. im being 100% honest i have no motivation to lie, im not even asking for my money back all i wanted was the front lace system that i paid 900 dollars for and for them to use the right bond but apparently thats too much to ask for. i have documented all the calls and i have pictures of the whole process and the link will also be posted on here by Sunday. read more

I went here to learn more about the Transitions procedure. My husband and I were brought into a small office and met with a woman who took one look at me and said I wasn't a candidate. She then told me I should wear a hair piece on top of my head that I clip on and take off at night; NOT what I wanted. I had my hair restoration and laser treatment done last year there. The service was ok, the owner (Jennifer) was very sweet and the price that I got there was very decent. The procedure took the whole day and recovery period was significant as my face was swollen after all the saline injections. As for the quality of the hair restoration and expected results: don't expect miracles, and they should be more realistic about that, telling their customers what they should expect. I have some improvement but not really what I was expecting, especially taking into account the amount of money I spend (around $7000) and hair care that I still do. Many grafts seem to not implant well I noticed. Laser treatments didn't hurt but can't wowch for their effectiveness either. After all, if you want hair restoration be realistic about the results because they will show you the pictures that most likely will not really apply in your case. read more
