Not really much to review here, but as an assimilated Texan, I had to show my pride and pay homage to the former Republic of Texas.
I love that they plaqued the building that formerly housed the Embassy of the Republic of Texas as the building itself is pretty historic.
There is a great history behind the Embassy and many thanks to the Brits for supporting Texan Independence.
The history of embassy is not on the plaque, but I highly encourage any one who wants more info before or after your visit to look it up.
The Embassy occupied the building from 1842-1845 and when Texas joined the United States, they abandoned the building w/160 GBP tab that is still unpaid.
The plaque is located in the Pickering Street alleyway on the side of the building and any Texan visiting overseas should consider this a pilgrimage of sorts.
There is also a plaque in respective locations in France and Spain, the two other countries where Texas Embassies were established.
