There truly is something for everyone here--I came here with three friends and we all left with something. There are knick knacks/figurines for the house, jewelry, pillows, plushes, a small selection of clothes (coming soon I believe), embroidery pieces, totes, paintings, paper crafts--literally every kind of fiber art you can think of. They are all priced super well too (I'm from NYC so I'm used to the NYC hipster tax). I left with a jewelry box and a "botanical bottle" and I cannot stop obsessing over them. The owner is the sweetest lady and I loved chit chatting with her. She would also stop whatever she was doing to tell us about the artists/booths we were browsing through. After calling to introduce myself and see if they could help me, A to Z Resale came to my house, looked at the items I was looking to sell, and suggested an estate sale. We discussed this in great detail and they were aware that I would be living and working out of my house until I moved. Despite the fact that this was only the second time they had done an estate sale (something not mentioned until I prompted) I decided to give them a chance and went ahead and signed a contract with them. In our discussions, they told me they needed about 3 weeks to prep for the sale. They wanted me to give them a key to the house that I was living in so that they could 'come and go' to get ready for the sale. I reminded them that I was living/working at the house and did not want people to come and go without notice. This seems like a reasonable request on many levels, not the least of which is safety. On many occasions, I mentioned that I am at the house nearly 100% of the time and they could simply drop me a text to give me a heads up and come over at any time. One week prior to the estate sale date (and subsequent move to my new house), I still had not seen them or seen any work done. I contacted them to ensure everything was on track. It was at that point that they informed me that they were voiding my contract on the grounds that I did not provide a key to my house. What person in their right mind would give a complete stranger a key to their house? Not only did they leave me scrambling at the last minute, but they have been operating under the assumption that I still want to have any sort of contact with them. They put me on their mailing list, send me unsolicited emails on a regular basis and provide no way of removing myself from the list -- which is also illegal. I am all for people trying to start and run a business on their own. But I am not going to endorse people who do not know the law, do not operate in a professional manner, and do not respect people enough to simply do the right thing. Considering the plethora of options available in this space, I highly recommend staying away from this business.

They will help you unload and are generally wonderful. I have been donating their since 2016 and they have been consistently that way for the past 7 years. I went into the store on Phila pike to look around and possibly purchase something. Lets face it, we are not in Neiman Marcus here but, the store was was well organized and I found some glassware I can use. I have also had the pleasure of visiting their main offices on Lea Blvd outside of Wilmington, DE. They are very organized there and contribute so much to the community. Overall from me, Goodwill of DE and DE County get 5 stars. Great job, please keep up the good work. I know it isn't easy!

With that being said I've been to three Delaware Goodwill's and they all have the following in common. Very rough and messy sales floors, very loose organization, lots of discarded furniture and larger items, poor customer service, and long check out lines. All of the above adequately describe this Goodwill location. Everything is just kinda thrown about. Pillows were on the floor beside a pile of records. Wheeled carts block isles and are filled with donations that didn't make it to the shelves, which for the most part are bare. Probably because of lack of staffing. The check out line was long and there was no one on the floor to provide assistance or clean up. Clothes were on the floor, shoes thrown about on the shelves, and overall merchandise chaos. I will say this location had a good bit of furniture (both outside and inside). While some were covered in markers and stickers other pieces were decent. A vintage French dresser with a sold sticker on it was priced at $20. However furniture pricing was not consistent, as particleboard dressers of lesser quality were priced much higher. They had several bikes and large dollhouses priced at $10 Something I've never seen elsewhere was the looting at the donation drop off on the outside the building in front of the staff. A long line of cars were waiting to be unloaded by Goodwill staff, this line blocked the cars parked in the front row. Some people were getting out of their cars or walking up and rummaging thru the bins that didn't make it inside yet in full view of the staff. It was a free for all. It's no wonder the inventory on the floor is lackluster as the good stuff never makes it inside! Granted the neighborhood wasn't the greatest but this was ballsy! Would I make a return visit? Probably, if I was in the area, after all someone scored a nice vintage dresser that they could easily resell for $100 or more. Would I drive here just to patronize? Nah. SIDENOTE: If you obtain a cart consider yourself lucky. Incoming customers hover over the customers checking out just to secure one.

No one should live like that. Chris and his crew stepped in and cleared out all rooms, taking many items for donation and other items to be trashed. They cleared out his kitchen which had so many canned/boxed food items that were expired. Chris even moved items so they weren't a tripping hazard, he pointed out fire hazards too. He did all of this with compassion and understanding, even recommending a company to help with ongoing cleaning/care to avoid my relative's place returning to its unlivable state. He even provided tax documents for donated items. I live out of state and couldn't be there, and Chris communicated with me throughout the process, sending me videos as he progressed. I even got quotes from competitors who weren't as compassionate or affordable. I highly recommend Orion's Attic!! Chris is amazing!!
