I definitely urge anyone planning a wedding to splurge on a high quality photographer. Memories fade but photos don't. My first experience with Allen Tsai was when he photographed my sister's wedding. My sister…read moreherself, is a photographer. The second time I heard his name was at my best friend's wedding. HER photographer had also used Allen Tsai for her wedding. I decided to take some time and followed Allen's presence on social media and the internet. Turns out he's VERY decorated and has been featured a lot in publications. His clients are worldwide, and all the photographers I respect want HIM for the THEIR weddings. If he's the professional that all the other professionals use, I knew I was never going to entertain any other photographer. The second I got engaged, I told my wedding planner we had to secure Allen. And that's what we did. THANK GOD because it takes a special photographer to handle everything an everyone that was, My Wedding. I got married in Downtown Dallas and my wedding had very "city" vibes. I didn't want to have every "conventional" wedding party shot, and so I had tasked Allen with the burden of making my wedding photos look like "something off the cover of Vanity Fair." Not typically his route for weddings, and also confined to a VERY tight timeline, somehow, Allen was able to execute my vision. More than that, every shot from the reception is PERFECT. The lighting was consistent in every shot (and let me tell you, the lights from the stage and darkness of the room was all over the place that night). He captured beautiful portraits, but also grabbed very intimate moments between myself and my husband, our friends, and our family - shots that we didn't know anyone was watching. The photos were edited and turned in record time (amazing considering he shoots digitally AND in film) and the gallery of proofs was enormous. This was so important because I've heard HORROR stories from friends whose galleries were pitifully small since the photographer didn't have very good content to return. The gallery is easy to use navigate and he even offers printing services (huge if your local pharmacy does a bad job with prints). Here is my biggest jaw-drop of the experience: Allen worked alone. My wedding had around 225 guests and you would have thought (based on the photos) that he had at least two assistants. Finally, Allen is also just awesome to work with. He's kind and dedicated to his craft, and he is so respectful and polite. He rocked my wedding and I'm so glad we hired him.

Words cannot fully express how talented Allen Tsai is. My husband and I are not used to being…read moreprofessionally photographed, so we chose Allen based on his stellar reviews. He did not disappoint! My best advice would be to trust him and his skills as a photographer implicitly. 1. He gives plenty of direction in terms of body placement, posture, hand placement, etc. to give you flawless photos. If you are new to being photographed like me, you'll find this kind of direction extremely helpful and comforting. 2. At the same time, he creates a very calm, light, and fun atmosphere that creates true, genuine moments between you and your significant other. We are two people that usually feel very uncomfortable in front of a camera, however we had such an enjoyable experience with Allen. 3. I really encourage anyone using Allen's services to listen to his recommendations. For example, our original scheduled date was cloudy and overcast. He recommended that we wait for sun if we truly wanted to be happy with our photos. We are so grateful to have listened to him, because the results were wonderful (see attached). There are other photographers that will say that cloudy weather is actually better, however with Allen's technique and skill set, he can do incredible things with the light. We will continuously use Allen's services in the future; we have found our favorite photographer! I couldn't imagine working with anyone else.

She made us feel like ourselves--laughing, relaxed, and completely in the moment. At the same time, she has this incredible ability to command a crowd and keep things moving smoothly. We've already talked about hiring her for future milestones--yes, even if she's in Dallas and we're in Austin! 100000% recommend hiring Kyrsten. I've debated for almost 2 years now about leaving this review, but the fact that I'm still upset,…read morealmost 2 years later was my final push to write it. Overall, the staff was amazing. Never did. I have a problem with their personalities or them in general. I just wanted to start off with that. My problem with this company was the lack of communication on the day of, the lack of listening to directions on the day of, and the lack of getting any good photos of us with our guests and families. This company will ask you to make a shot list for them and even gives you the suggestion to write down everybody's names so the photographer can call them out and the photos will go quicker. I have a huge family. I have 13 cousins on just my mom side let alone my dad side, and my husband's two sides of his family, so I spent hours of my life during the most stressful time of my life writing down each and every individual person's name that I wanted in each and every individual photo I even went as far as to put them in the dang order. I wanted the photos to be taken, and I was extremely disappointed! Not one photo of me with my parents not one photo of me or the groom with either of our parents for that matter or grandparents, my mom had to run down our photographer to get a photo of us together, and the other photographer is in the background, and they didn't even edit him out! Bare minimum you could've edited out for not doing your job on the day of! I got zero photos on my shot list taken and then to top it all off. The photos weren't even edited the way I had picked out during our several meetings about it! it's so sad. This company was recommended to us by a family friend and now me and my whole family are upset because none of us have photos with each other at our wedding. So if you want good photos of the party, but not any photos on your shot list go for it! Our reception photos were amazing. The vibe was immaculate. Everything else sucked. The video also sucked. My vowels were in it, only half of my husband's vows were in it, and barely any of the cute moments from the day. It was the most boring wedding video I've ever seen in my life. I really wish I could just get my money back or at least a partial refund because it was not worth the thousand thousands of dollars spent on terrible photos.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience so other parents can…read moremake an informed decision before booking. I hired Jolan Jade Photography after reviewing her beautiful online portfolio, which showcased thoughtfully styled newborn portraits, professional posing, and a variety of creative compositions. Unfortunately, the photographs I received were vastly different from the quality and variety advertised. I paid $600 for a gallery consisting largely of repetitive photographs, nearly identical overhead angles, and minimal variation in posing or composition. Many of the images were essentially duplicates with slightly different facial expressions. The difference between her advertised portfolio and the actual work delivered was incredibly disappointing. What made this experience even more frustrating was the lack of professionalism. When I expressed my concerns, rather than acknowledging the significant differences in quality, she attributed the results to my son's age and size, the lighting in my home, and even complained about my nanny. For context, this is my third child and my third experience with professional newborn and childhood photography. I am very familiar with how these sessions work and what to reasonably expect. I have had the same nanny and the same lighting conditions in my home during previous photography sessions without experiencing these issues. Furthermore, my husband, sister, and nanny were all present during the session, and all three commented afterward on how unprofessional they found her conduct. Unfortunately, I wasn't present for the entire session, but hearing the same concerns from three people who witnessed it was incredibly disappointing. I also provided my son's exact age and measurements before booking. If his age, size, or the conditions in my home would significantly limit the photographer's ability to produce work comparable to her advertised portfolio, I believe those concerns should have been communicated beforehand rather than used as explanations afterward. Newborn photographs are irreplaceable memories. These are moments you cannot recreate, and choosing a photographer is an important decision built on trust, professionalism, and the quality of work they advertise. My disappointment goes far beyond simply disliking a few photographs. It is the substantial discrepancy between the work advertised and delivered, the lack of variety and attention to detail, and the overall experience. I strongly encourage other parents to request complete, recent client galleries rather than relying solely on the carefully selected photographs displayed on a website. After three children and three professional photography experiences, this was by far my most disappointing. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this photographer.
