This is the place to go for a range of magazine title (adult and junior titles), stationary, cards, sudoko and crossword books. They also have a small range of gifts and pens. This is where many Rosanna residence head to get their daily newspaper, tattslotto or grab a quick pick or scratchie. You can arm yourself with a drink, chocolate bar or Met card from the front counter as you pass by. This place doubles as Banyule Post Office with a large counter at the back of the shop for all your postage and parcel collection and delivery needs. They have a sense of humour there too, drawing a funny surname related picture on my parcel. If you can get a giggle at your local post office then it deserves a review!

They have a great children and young adult range, as well as popular fiction and new release stock. What really stands out is the range of Australian and local titles. in my opinion Eltham Bookshop is so popular due to its community involvement. It regularly hosts events and is popular with author talks. It promotes literacy and new local authors and even music events or book clubs for adults and children. The staff are happy to help you with your selection but are also happy to leave you alone to browse. Eltham Bookshop wins my vote for its well considered events and local author support!
