I have seen Drs Kusba, Olson, and Landon and highly recommend them and their vet techs for both Western and alternative veterinary medicine. In 2009, I had been to several vets, including "sports" vets, with my Cardigan Welsh Corgi, and none was able to diagnose the cause of my dog's limp. I was then told by a friend and fellow Agility exhibitor to see Dr. Jill Kusba. Dr Kusba correctly diagnosed the cause of my dog's limp within 15 minutes of examining him. In addition, she brought in a model of a dog so I could see exactly which muscles and ligaments were torn, demonstrating a superior bedside manner. Dr Kusba is thoroughly professional and eminently qualified in both traditional and alternative medicine. Through her highly skilled use of acupuncture, Dr Kusba enabled my elderly mixed breed dog to walk again after her back went out, without the need for surgery or drugs that only mask the problem. In my opinion, Dr Kusba is by far the best orthopedic vet in the greater Milwaukee area. While my Cardigan was seeing Dr Kusba, I took my mixed breed dog to see Dr Linda Olson on the recommendation of a friend from the dog club. With an MS in Immunology, Dr Olson has been a perfect fit in treating my elderly dog, who has an endocrine disorder. I have found Dr Olson to be very knowledgable and refreshingly open-minded in treatment options for Maddy, and we have reached a satisfying mix of alternative and traditional treatment that has enabled my dog to live into her 14th year. Dr Olson has also performed very thorough orthopedic exams and laser therapy on my dogs. I have lost count of the number of times Dr Olson has gone above and beyond for my dogs, and I have yet to meet a vet who cares more about her patients or is more knowledgable in Internal Medicine than Dr Olson. I do not hesitate to recommend Care Animal Clinic for any pet owner looking for very knowledgable, personable vets utilizing both Western and alternative medicine.

Unfortunately, it is very…read moredifficult to get an appointment for urgent situations like ear infections with either of the vets. It is ridiculous to wait 2+ weeks to have your pet wait with the discomfort of any type. Might be time to look for a new vet. I hate to leave this vet, but I'm not comfortable waiting that long to see a vet at my dog's expense. Maybe the minor issues don't matter to them anymore as they are too busy.

WARNING - READ BEFORE GOING HERE!…read more First off, I am not the type to leave negative reviews, especially for a place trying to help animals. I am extremely saddened and disappointed by experience with Bluemound Animal Hospital and Dr. Emily Weaver. Opinions aside, the facts of our experience with Bluemound Animal Hospital are outlined in detail below. At the end of April, we went into the location with a scheduled appointment for two of our cats. We waited nearly an hour to see the vet, where she expressed concern that both of our cats may be diabetic and recommended expensive and extensive full testing (over $1,200 vet bill). We were told the tests would be ran "in house" so that they could be turned around faster. We patiently and anxiously waited for results not knowing if our cats were healthy or not. We called 5/6/26, a week later, to check in on results as we had not heard back. We were told that we would receive a call back once they were ready. We called back again on 5/21, over THREE weeks after the tests were ran. The staff apologized and said they would talk to the doctor and call back. We did not hear back and called at the end of the week and called our third time, on 5/26 (nearly a month after our appointment). We were once again told sorry and that a call back would be requested. At the start of JUNE, a FULL month after the $1,200+ vet bill was charged and with no results, we decided to go into the vet directly and ask what was going on. We were told the vet was busy and could not talk to us, and were once again told they would call back. We never heard back. A few weeks later, 6+ weeks with no results and not knowing if our cats were healthy or sick, we went in a second time. This time, there was chaos at the front desk, with multiple of the front desk workers disclosing to us that they put in their two weeks to quit. We went in to request our results for our two cats, but it turned into an experience of the staff telling us how sorry they were and that they were quitting. We requested to speak to the owner of Bluemound Animal Hospital, and demanded a call back. This finally worked, and on 6/24 we received a call back from Dr. Emily Weaver directly apologizing. To her credit, she took responsibility on the call. Apart from a blood pressure test (which we learned was key to diagnosis) which was not ran, we received results and thought we were getting somewhere. She offered a full refund on the blood pressure and was going to check on a partial refund for the poor service. We were once again told we would get a call back. I am sitting here on 7/14, 2.5 months after going in for blood testing and $1,200 in vet bills having received partial results, NO refund of any kind (including on the service not performed), and NO followup call back from 6/24. I called minutes ago and was helped by new staff who told me once again that they would talk to the doctor and check on sending a refund, but we have given up all hope. Based on the positive reviews seen here, I hope that this is a one off experience. During one visit, multiple staff members told us they were leaving the practice, which raised concerns about what was happening internally, and wether this was occurring beyond just our case. We were extremely patient (even told that we were more patient than some of the staff would be, by some of the staff) and more than happy to give benefit of the doubt to the hospital and Dr. Weaver. However as I sit writing this review I have given up any hope that this issue will be resolved. We will be awaiting our refund "by mail" (despite paying with card, interesting), but who knows if it will come. Based on our experience, we did not feel our time or concerns were respected. Hands down the worst service I have received anywhere, at least that I can remember. I only hope that the animals are treated better.

My experience here has never been that great, but my last visit may be my final one…read more I arrived five minutes early for my 10:00 a.m. appointment and was not allowed inside until the doors unlocked exactly at 10:00. While five minutes may not seem like much, it feels much longer standing outside in mid-February in Wisconsin, especially when you are nine months pregnant with a large elderly dog who struggles to get in and out of the car. The veterinarian himself is kind and respectful. I choose not to elect every vaccine that is recommended, and he does not pressure me, which I appreciate. However, during my first few visits after moving here, the environment felt sales-driven and somewhat judgmental. Over time that has improved. I will also give credit to their technicians who very much love animals. There is also significant paperwork required prior to visits, including liability waivers and consent forms allowing conversations to be recorded and transcribed into notes. While I understand policies exist for a reason, the overall experience feels very corporate rather than personal. This makes me believe they have a higher office they answer to in regard to liability paperwork and sale quotas. I have lived in multiple places over the last eight years and have used several veterinary offices. In my opinion, their pricing is on the higher end compared to other clinics I've used, and there often seems to be a push toward additional services or treatments that don't always feel necessary.
