Honest review. Once arriving the room was still 55 degrees. Room 234. I brought this to the front desk attention and he gave us a replacement room (233). He wanted us to pack everything up and bring back to the desk to get new room keys. Very inconvenient, I suggested he book us out of 234, give us room keys for 233 and come with us to retrieve our items to shift to the room right next to it. That worked. Once in room 233 the 3rd observation was the sink would not drain, the plug was activated and luckily I was able to reach under the sink to open the plug for sink to drain. 4th observation the carpet, discusting, stains everywhere. Hotel can rent a rug shampooer from the mall next door to it to clean these stains properly. 5th observation there was extremely poor water pressure which made showering take 3 times as long. 6th observation was the beds were hard, felt like I was sleeping on a sheet of plywood. 7th observation was towels in pool area were not stocked for beginning of day we had to go to the front desk to get towels. 8th observation during breakfast all garbage were overflowing and I had to mention to staff that we couldn't discard our trash as there was no more room in all 3 garbage. 9th observation if you would like a quiet stay it likely will not happen as rooms were by the pool and by 8am we woke to kids screaming and playing in the pool. With all this said I potentially would stay again if the price was right. I personaly would not pay more than $60 usd per night as that's what I would value the stay at. There is plenty of room for improvement, some preventative maintenance, deep cleaning, keeping up on regular cleanliness, and making sure the customers don't need to ask for towels or to throw items in the garbage.

This one had fresh updates and was very clean. It smelled good everywhere and the carpet didn't feel the least bit greasy like many hotels. The front desk staff were very nice and greeted us every time we came in the lobby. The beds were nice and comfy, too! We had our pup with us and stayed up fairly late. Luckily the staff smiled when we brought our pup inside rather than glared at us. Best of all -- the pup was free! We were concerned because some louder Sioux fans stayed across the hall but we couldn't hear them at all when our door closed. Location is great and close to CanadInn and not horribly far from campus. We had a good breakfast in the morning -- great variety! We will definitely make this our choice hotel in Grand Forks.

My kids wake up early so we headed down to breakfast at 6:30, sign said breakfast starts at 6 (on weekdays so I missed that and it was my mistake) the lights were on and door open so we started loading up our plates. We had other people in our room sleeping and didn't want to wake so we ended up eating our breakfast on the stairs. Could have thrown us a bone but still made us leave with full plates and three small children. I worked breakfast at a hotel during college (we started breakfast at 5) and people would always asking to come in early to grab breakfast and it was never an issue.

For my experience: The hotel staff were patient and excellent to work with while sorting out a corporate/gov't payment card that took a few days to iron out. The accommodations were clean, comfortable and spacious I never used the pool or hot tub but they looked nice and inviting (note to self: pack a swim suit!). The breakfast options were plentiful and changed daily. The on-site laundry facility was a great bonus -- convenient and affordable. The hotel manager went out of his way to ensure my extended stay was good. I appreciated that personal touch. I was even assisted with enrolling in the Wyndham Rewards Program, which earned me Platinum status due to my length of stay... and earned Wyndham a new loyal customer. Special thanks to Cory and his entire team at AmericInn Crookston!

When I asked her to repeat the email back to me (since she got it wrong) , she pronounced my name wrong multiple times, and when I corrected her, she got flustered and hung up the phone. I had to call back multiple times to speak to a supervisor or corporate, since she still could not provide the receipt. She went on a verbal tirade and slammed the phone. Update: Debbie ended up sending the receipt, however she spammed my personal inbox with 25+ reservation confirmations from my stay over a month ago. She has made this process difficult. I will have to reconsider my hotel selection in the future, thanks to her lack of professionalism.

When we were first checking in, the stairs in the entryway to the building were locked and unable to be opened, which made it hard to pull my wheels bag up the stairs. The keys are not a swipe or an insert, but simply a touch on an electronic pad on the door, which I liked. There are Neutrogena products in the bathroom in case you forget your personal hygiene products. They offer two king beds and one king bed rooms.
