Then called me back saying that the firm wouldn't take the case. Never spoke directly to a lawyer that would perhaps ask more questions to find out more details about the situation, which involved the passing of my mother. This law firm for the ALMOST 3 YEARS of dealing with this case didn't even know my name when I called.... EVER. When my case got TRANSFERRED to BORIS BRISKIN he was rude, disengaged, and hardly remembered my case. I would not RECOMMEND this firm to anyone. If you're looking for an attorney this isn't the place . This place will leave you with a small portion settlement and their attorney fees when it's all said and done is almost 50 percent of what you receive and then you still have to pay your medical and physician cost out of your share of course (so you do the math ) . Little to no communication, good luck trying to reach them when you're desperate for someone to calm you down during your stressful process . The little communication you'll receive will be from their assistants and that's not going to be helpful for you . Do your research when looking for an attorney that's going to represent you . If you're body is going to be permanently affected you deserve to go to someone that is going to give you the best compensation. I was involved in a collision where law enforcement were involve due to a hit and run. I had severe back pain and needed medical treatment. I decided to go with Ellis law because he was referred to by a former employer. I had high expectations. My case took over two years to resolve. I only met with Mr. Ellis once and when I did he was unprepared. He went over my case while reading notes his assistant wrote for him. He later had to excuse himself and his assistant due to a conflict on my case notes. I could tell then that he did review my case prior to meeting with me and probably does this all the time. As a legal assistant for a workers compensation law firm customer service is key. Second, communication is important. After I was done with all medical treatment my case transferred to litigation. I was told that someone would contact me from their office to go over the next steps. That call never happened. I called a few weeks later and no one ever got back to me. Their excuse was that the person in charge of my case was fired. How is that my problem? Being fired or not someone should have called me back. I felt my case was falling through the cracks as this is a very busy firm. And lastly, attorney fees. I won't post the percentage but it exceeds the average. Since my case proceeded to litigation it was a little over 20%. If you are shopping around for a personal injury attorney who cares about your well being and will truly fight for your case this firm is not for you. I suggest you look elsewhere. read more

I was referred to Ellis Law by my workers compensation attorney. I am so glad he did so. My accident involved me getting stuck in an elevator between floors after the elevator dropped abruptly. At first, the building owner was denying any responsibility saying there's nothing wrong with the elevator. Justina Ramon and Derek Turbin at Ellis law went to work.
