He was personable & accommodating when we spoke by phone or shared e-mail. He did a good job of scheduling with our realtor. The day we took possession (less than a month later), we had to call a plumber to repair a good-sized leak under the bathroom sink. Two windows had cracks or 'punctures'. After several outlets were found to be loose, we hired an electrician to check all switches & outlets. Six were replaced & a bunch tightened up. He missed a 6" X 14" hole in the kitchen wall that was covered by a tin, decorative plate. It was obvious to us, it was covering something - apparently an old wall phone. It did not show up in his pics, nor the report, that the crawl space had very little moisture barrier left & there was a lot of junk down there. We spent a bundle to tear out moldy insulation, treat 'old' mold on the joists & replace a good amount of missing vapor barrier in areas that did not show in the pics. He said the roof was "5-10 years old" Later, our insurance agent called it 20 yrs. That caused a bit of a battle! He has a good reputation if you are there with him, but I would not trust him to be thorough if you are not.

I relied on the house inspector to detail all the the major problems with the house so that I could make a informed and good decision. That did not happen! After I moved in I discovered multiple serious problrms that were evident to the naked eye. The drain pipe under the kitchen sink was rusted through and there was water damage there. Not indicated in the report. Problems with electrical light switch circuits not working properly. Not reported. The gutters on the house all in need of major repairs. Not reported. I could give more examples but I think you get the picture. Don't hire Monty Freel If you want to be conficent that you will get a good and detailed report.

The situation was serious enough that they advised me to leave my home immediately to protect my health. Ken took the appropriate samples for lab analysis and obtained a report. It validated his concerns. Ken also immediately set up a number of machines to clean and dehumidify my home. Ken sent an estimate to my insurance company for remediation services that needed to be done. My insurance company ultimately decided not to pay for the needed remediation after delaying for over 3 months ! During this very stressful period Ken called and sent texts several times to check on me and offer his support. He took my calls and texts at all hours. Ultimately the insurance company refused to pay for the remediation. Ken's equipment had been in place in my home all that time. When Ken came to collect his equipment, he would not charge me !! We had both expected and had been told that insurance would pay initially. I was so grateful and relieved!!
