Are you a self-professed "dentophobe"? Many individuals dread going to the dentist for one reason…read moreor another. Perhaps you've held onto memories of other dentists who were judgmental, authoritative, and left you feeling like they had far better things to do than deal with your concerns; maybe your previous dentist did not explain each step in clear terms or began each session without even acknowledging "you" as a living, breathing human being. Such unpleasant encounters may prevent us from seeking help at the right time, which can ultimately result in more protracted and costly treatment. My experience with Taconic Dental Arts has freed me of such fears--this practice has been the best thing that has ever happened to me in terms of dental care in Vermont. Taconic Dental Arts offers everything you could ever ask for: Top-notch professionals and support staff who know how to make you feel at ease while delivering high-level preventative care and clinical treatment. Dr. Tyler Carmack and Dr. Elizabeth Carmack are truly compassionate; they'll provide you with the best experience you've ever had in a dental setting! State-of-the-art equipment and beautifully appointed treatment and reception areas offer privacy while promoting relaxation. The front-desk staff are knowledgeable, pleasant, and discreet when discussing appointments and fees. I am completely satisfied with Taconic Dental Arts in every imaginable way and feel fortunate to have such a comprehensive and modern practice in Rutland County.

I was also terribly afraid of seeing the dentist. I had a traumatic experience when I was younger where my dentist left the drill in my mouth so she could go answer her phone. I might mention the drill was still running and it was my first visit to a dentist. I was only about 13. He allows my now husband then boyfriend to come in the room with me every time I've gone in. He sits right in the room with me the whole time. I have to get numbed every time though because my pain tolerance is very low. I also have to have a mouth helper because I have a hard time keeping my mouth open while he does fillings. I've only gotten fillings through him. My husband got a root canal though. He said that it didn't hurt but it was so painful afterwards that he went and got the tooth ripped out. Doctor McDonald is currently replacing all of my old silver fillings with the white ones. The fillings normally hurt for a few days after, but you could never tell that I have almost 16 fillings throughout my entire mouth. My husband has said never to go to him for extractions. He doesn't really like to do much for pain though.

Left a very negative message on my voicemail, In her exact words "you walked out without paying the full amount and we need payment immediately" Unfortunately it was their mistake, they only charged me 1/2 of what the bill was on exit. Which was their fault. Had I been informed of the correct amount for service it would have been paid, exactly like the 10x prior i'd already been there. Instead of remedying the situation with some actual customer service she blamed the error on us, took no responsibility for the hostile message and when challenged basically let my wife and my business slip out the door. If you want bitchy, holier than thou staff that harasses you over their mistake then by all means go to this practice.
