    More mold
    Julie W.

Bad experience from beginning to end. We booked our Cherry Grove place for the 4th of July week in January to be told in February that work had to be done on the house that meant they had to move us, but they would let us know if it was done in time and we would get our ocean view. We reached out a couple of months later to hear it was still being worked on but they would let us know. Two days before our trip I call to find it was fixed but rented out to someone else. They could still offer us the downstairs unit without the view or move us into a hotel on another beach - a hotel that was rented for hundreds of dollars cheaper than we spent, not that they mentioned that. We had to fight tooth and nail for the right to the original place we reserved. They finally did the right thing and put us in the right unit, but that was a bad experience too. We rented Ocean Mist 3 and the place was FILTHY. There was black mold on the air vents, rust all over the fridge, and a general grime to all of the furniture and cookware. We were in a house divided into four apartments and there was not enough parking for all of the cars that were allowed, which means we got blocked in. The "no party" rule is obviously not adhered to because the people downstairs literally had a music system that bumped the bass so loudly the entire house shook. There was no grill and the laundry room was in a tiny, spider infested closet. In no way do I recommend this house (Ocean Mist) or this reality.

After booking and staying with Elliot Rentals for over 7 years, I am disheartened to say this year was beyond disappointing. I have never had issues while staying in your resorts, but this year came as a complete waste of money. The disregard for cleanliness, especially in the middle of a national pandemic, was unnerving. Upon my arrival of room 1202 in Beach Cove Resort, it was apparent that the room hadn't been cleaned since the last renters had departed. There were cough drops stuck to the floor with crumpled up wrappers under the bedroom furniture and both bedroom closets were left with other peoples belongings in them. The bathroom floor was left dirtied with used q-tips and mounds of sand, and the garbage had not been emptied. Upon opening the dishwasher, there were molded utensils, molded clumps of food, molded dinnerware, and a horrific smell. The garbage in the kitchen had also been left unemptied with a crusted brown liquid dried to the bottom and sides of it, which also left a terrible odor lurking in the kitchen and the accompanying laundry room closet, which housed a broken dryer. When renting a two bed-room you pay extra to have the washer/dryer advantage, so not only did I pay for the upgraded room, but I also paid to dry my clothes in the resorts dryers. Both showers in the room had issues maintaining water temperature and also didn't drain properly, leaving dirty water to pool and taking very long to clear. When these issues were brought to the attention of Elliot, I was met with a rude demeanor and attitude. The customer service representative proposed that I should 'just simply run the dishwasher to get rid of the mold, which would alleviate the smell'. I was also made aware that Elliot could not provide an estimated time on when a service person could be sent out to clean the room or fix the dryer. Beyond that, I would be charged a fee to have someone sent out and I must remain in the room the duration of the service call. The solution to my concerns, provided by the costumer service representative, was that I should clean the room myself. Now I have to spend money on cleaning supplies and waste my vacation time cleaning my room, which included a cleaning fee in the price of rental. The description of Beach Cove Resort provided by Elliot Realty was proven to be false advertisement. At the time of booking, I was expecting a beautiful beach front resort, with 3 hot tubs, 3 pools, and 1 lazy river. During our stay, only one hot tub was in working condition. The lazy river is said to have "fun buckets and light spraying misters", however there is nothing fun or gentle about them, you are getting blasted with high pressure water and pummeled with buckets of water and paint chips (the paint of the buckets is chipping away). There are no more than 8 tubes made available for floating, so there are many people swimming around without a tube, despite the signs stating you cannot enter without a tube and the multiple security guards that should be enforcing the rules, but were found sitting on their phones. Throughout the week we were there, pools remained closed in the morning hours because they were painting the pool deck; this should be done at an off hour when there is not a fully-booked resort looking for pool chairs or a place to swim. What came as the most bothersome oversight was the disregard for ADA regulations. I myself am handicapped and rely on the use of elevators and ramps. As advertised, Beach Cove offers beach access with a ramp. With the pool deck being painted and that area of the deck being closed, the only ramp was inoperable. In addition to the ramp closure, the elevators were extremely unreliable and felt unsafe. Although it is labeled as serviced and inspected in March, the elevator doors opened and closed randomly, would shake and often stop on floors that weren't being called for.   I was highly disappointed with my stay at Beach Cove Resort and the repugnant customer service that I received from Elliot Realty. I will attach photos to prove my concerns. My business with Elliot will most definitely come to an end and I refuse to recommend this company to anyone.

Small room, no where to put anything

Horrible company. Never again will I rent from them. Arrived at our condo and it had not been cleaned. We were told that we had until 7pm. 7pm came and still nothing. Called back and was on hold for 45 mins. Finally someone picked up and said they would send someone to clean. The cleaners finally came around 840pm. The condo still was dirty. The ceiling fans had dust all on them, the floors were still Sandy and dirty. The comforters on the beds had stains and the bar stool cushions were stained as well. The condo was listed as 3bd 2 bath and able to sleep up to 10. No freaking way. The master bedroom was large but that was it. The other 2 bedrooms were super small. They did not even have dressers and the TVs were 19inch so you could barely see them. I know the size of the condo is not Elliot's fault but they should List the sizes of the rooms and the sizes of the TVs. Also they need to do a better job of inspecting their listings. The roku remote battery had exploded so you could not get the back off to change the batteries, the light was burnt out in one bedroom, and the cable box was not working. Also, the condo unit itself is run down. Lights were hanging off the side of the building, the pool door is broken with the glass broken and the cigarette holder outside apparently hadn't been emptied in a year, due to about 100 cigarettes floating in water ( I don't smoke but it's hard to miss due to having to walk by it ) . Never again will I stay with Elliott and their rude staff!

First off, I have to compliment the gentleman who took the reservation by phone several days back. His name is Ken or Kenneth. I couldn't have had a more pleasant and welcoming first impression. Upon check in, the staff was great in getting my group set up with rental clubs, which I believe were $60-65. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but i believe they were the Callaway Ai Smoke HL series. Good rentals, but if I'm being super picky, my driver still had some dried mud on it. The course has had a lot of rain lately, and it's not like I couldn't wipe it off, but I still feel like I should mention that. For comparison, True Blue had Titleist T200 rentals, which are targeted to a slightly better player (neither a positive or negative here, just depends on what you might prefer to play). The rentals at True Blue were noticeably cleaned and scrubbed. Dye Course rentals were a little muddier but again, the course had some rain and so we just made use of the handy club cleaner on the cart. They had closed the range to mow it before our midday tee time. It probably needed a mow as they hadn't been able to get to it with all the rain, understandably, but I couldn't help but be slightly disappointed not to get a chance to get a feel for the rental clubs. One of the guys tried to make light of it by saying something to the effect of, "you'll just have to take whatever swing you got straight to the course." Having looked forward to this round for months and hoping to play well, it just made it a slight bummer to start like that. I did find the practice putting green to be very similar to green feel on the course, which sometimes doesn't happen, so yay for that. The starter was great and very welcoming! I was happy with the course conditions. Again, they've had a ton of rain lately so it wasn't in pristine shape, but I didn't expect it to be. The greens were in good shape and rolled pretty well, and the fairways kept the ball sitting up nicely. There were some rough spots on the edges of fairways and tee boxes, but for the most part, it didn't ruin any of the experience. This was my first Dye course, and I really enjoyed the visuals of each hole. If you are hitting your targets, it feels rewarding to score. The course is fair, and it isn't as "tricked up" as True Blue. It can also be forgiving by moving up to one of the further tee boxes. My group played from three different tee boxes and it made the course manageable (for the most part) for all skill levels. We saw the beverage cart attendant after the 3rd or 4th hole. She was great! She did warn us that she wouldn't be coming around again, and advised us to stock up at the turn. One more bummer to note... the starter said there were player assistants roaming around with waters that we'd see every now and then that would make sure we were staying hydrated. Unfortunately we relied too much on that information. We never did see one. At the 12th hole, we met an employee who was playing and he said we should have seen one. He was nice enough to call up and inquire for us. Another gentleman rolled by about a hole later and said sorry but the player assistant had gone home, but we should see some water at hole 15. Maybe we missed it, but we failed to see anywhere to get water on the rest of the course. We were quite parched. Definitely come more prepared than we did or stock up more at the turn. The carts seemed a little older but had the goodies attached - GPS screen, club and ball cleaner, and little extra cubbies above your head to hold extra stuff. All in all we had a good time. I hate that the lack of range availability and the drinking water situation left a bad taste in my mouth, but if you go on a day where everything is working as it should be, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

There are just way too many bunkers. There are multiple bunkers guarding the greens and also fairway bunkers. There is not a lot of water, maybe 3 holes where water comes into play. They do have a nice driving range, a chipping and separate putting area as well. They have a great staff to help with your golf bag and load the cart. They have a starter and rangers who patrol the front and back to ensure pace of play. Ron and I got partnered up with 2 other singles to make a 4 some. One guy from New Jersey named John and a guy from Kernersville, NC named Mark. I asked about the signs that said 'watch for gators' and they were serious. We saw a good size gator cruising around in a large pond, see the pic I added. The Dye course is was being aerated so by default, I played the Love course today on a Monday with an 8am tee time. I was solo so I got paired with a father and son, John and Mike from Massachusetts. They had never played that course before so we all figured it out as we went along. The difficulty level is high. Many strategically placed bunkers. Many in the fairway, along the the sides of the fairway and many are green side bunkers. These impacted your play on most every hole. There is a fair amount of water that comes into play as well. There are ponds, creeks and marsh areas throughout. The tee boxes were all in excellent condition as were the greens. Most all of the fairways were green and well maintained. Like all the other Barefoot Resort courses, you get the GPS enabeled golf carts. There were two bathrooms on each of the nine holes. Pace of play was excellent and it didn't feel like it was crowded or rushed. We played 18 holes in about 4 hours and 15 minutes. There are several Par 3's that are very reachable. Like the other courses, you do not come back to the clubhouse on the turn. They did have a cart making regular rounds and were stocked with sandwiches as well as the beers, spirits and non-alcohol beverage choices. I got a great rate of $125.00 which is reduced from the Spring rate. I'll be looking forward to playing the Dye course my first opportunity.
