Been a patient for a few years and Doctor Diamond's practice is a bit different from most podiatrists--I know, I've been to quite a few. First, he's a huge fan of treating foot problems without surgery. This is a Good Thing, because operations on the foot can cause all sorts of complications! Second, unlike most podiatrists, if you get orthotics, he doesn't just hand you a pair and send you on your way--if you continue to have problems, he'll have you back in a week or two and see about making adjustments. For me, this was crucial. Third, unlike most doctors, it's not just him treating you. He has a common area and a small army of nurses who help with treatment as well. This reduces the wait time for an appointment. Most of my appointments take less than an hour from entering the office to leaving it. A more specific story about non-surgical treatment--many years ago I had a morton's neuroma (pinched nerve) in my foot which was resolved. But about 2 months ago, it came back! I set up an appointment with Dr. Diamond, and because it was not too severe, he was able to treat it with acupuncture. After 3 sessions over the last two weeks, I am feeling much better and no longer walking with a limp! 6/5 stars. read more

I've experienced achilles tendonosis for years and have undergone several rounds of physical theory, shockwave treatments, etc. to address it. Dr. Diamond said he was going to treat it differently with an equinus IQ boot. This device, which he provides for much less $ than a medical supply company, has made a profound difference within just a few weeks. He's also reformulated my orthotics in a way that addresses my anatomy better than other pairs did. Had my first experience at Dr. Diamond's office today and it was great! With some pain in my foot following an injury, I chose Dr. Diamond even though he wasn't covered by my insurance (didn't feel like enduring the Keystone primary care/specialist shuffle), because of the reviews I read on City Search. I'd read that he'd worked with the PA Ballet (is there a higher honor for a podiatrist?) and that he also offers acupuncture at his office as a means of foot therapy. I was sold. His office was staffed by great people who returned all of my phone calls and answered all of my questions clearly. The doctor himself was very kind and clearly caring. Really efficient, yet friendly doctor! I had my first experience with him two weeks ago. I had a very painful toe (which he fixed) and a hip problem, which he tried to fix by taping up my ankle. I was doubtful, but it actually worked! He told me to come back twice more for tapings if the hip got better. I returned a second time and he taped but this time with more correction, and it helped my hip even more! He and his staff are very helpful, and although they work quickly, they are very friendly and take the time to answer any questions you might have. Dr. Diamond is amazing! I am a runner, and a month before my marathon I, unfortunately, had achilles tendonitis. He proceeded to get me much better and ready to run for the marathon. What a winter. I fractured my tibia bone falling on some ice on March 9th. Doctors told me it was hairline and that a cast wouldn't do much good: Ice, elevation, cable tv. Anyway, the leg did heal, the pain subsided somewhat, and I was almost back to my normal routine but the leg was still swollen and sore in some positions. One night, I met Dr. Diamond through some friends and the next day I went to his office. He stimulated the leg through electric impulse, acupuncture and intelligently placed tape on my leg and foot. I went back twice and the swelling in my leg went way down and the pain went away. I am back to yoga now, pain free. I went to Dr Diamond 4 different times to correct my gait this past summer. The staff is very welcoming and made every visit enjoyable. Dr. Elliot Diamond. --Spent years living in a temple in Kyoto. --Worked as the acupuncterist for a team of anthropologists in Kathmandu. --THINKS he speaks recognizable Korean. --Married to a Korean woman. Cost of all this unsolicited information: $30 copay Benefit to my heel pain: Zilch He did have that cool computerized mat, but the charm of that wore off as I sat waiting in a room while he, next door (separated by a partition only) bragged to an intern about how he didn't pay a cent for it, but gets such equipment for free from medical suppliers as long as he sells a certain quota of $350 orthotics. He explained that's how he can afford to work 2 and a half days a week and retire in a few years. He WILL try to sell you one of those orthotics. He will also try to get you into his office for as many visits as possible, stretching out the treatments, even though you explain they are not working. All this wouldn't be so bad if it weren't his team of assistants (who are capable) doing most of the work and he has but glancing contacts with patients. Unless, of course, you have a Korean surname. Then, you get treated to garbled Korean and then scolded when you can't understand what he is saying. read more

Dr. D. is a nice man,but after months of visits and about a thousand dollars out of pocket (Includes appliances)my Plantar Fasciitis was not,IMO, really any better than months of rest would have achieved.I must say that at the time they did not accept Keystone ,which may have changed.Regardless,the silly way that they approach things borders on un-professional.The patient should guide not the staff e.g. I had to ASK for an ultrasound,orthotics,etc.it's all very vague/groovy but no one tells you clearly what's wrong or what needs to be done. In two visits to Temple Podiatry w/cortisone shots,I acheived more in a month,than in the six spent under their care.P.S. those "custom" Orthotics were a waste of $400-,but hey, I asked for them!There are excellent off the shelf models for under $50 read more

Dr. Diamond was recommended by a friend, and as she explained, he treats the Pennsylvania Ballet Dancers performance instrument, ie their feet. If he can bring relief from pain to Ballerinas after they dance en point then I'm sure he can bring much healthy, happy healing to the rest of us. I went to see Dr. Diamond after I had a foot surgery with another foot surgeon, Dr. Michael Downey, who managed to put my big toe on crooked. After seeing Dr. Diamond for a year, he finally had me see an in-house orthopaedic surgeon who thought I would need another surgery. This guy, in retrospect, was really bent on selling his implant device which he was going to insert into my own foot because of the arthritis that I was experiencing. That surgeon was dismissed right before I signed up for the surgery, which I am so glad for. I got orthotics that made my feet feel better, but did not fix the crooked toe, obviously. Still every time I went to Diamond, I felt better because of the gadgets and non-traditional practices that he uses. I eventually had another foot surgery with another doctor who did his best to right my toe. I have had my orthotic modified to ease foot pain. Dr. Diamond recommended this other foot surgeon, so I am grateful that he recommended someone better. However.... I saw Diamond for about 1 1/2 years. They initially told me that they accepted my insurance, which is why I continued to see him. I gave them the insurance card and paid the copay and EVERYTHING. After a year and a half, they tell me that my insurance does not cover the visits and that I will have to pay for it out of pocket. I have a $1500 bill from them that they told me over and over again that they would "take care of". This happened even after I contacted them multiple times after continuing to receive the full bill in the mail. His techniques are good, but the accounting practices are suspect. Also, he hired a surgeon in-house that was putting his profits before care. As a result, I cannot fully recommend Diamond. If it works out for you, great. Just be aware of issues of accounting and hiring. read more

Elliot Diamond worked miracles on my feet. He not only identified and treated the cause of the acute pain that brought me into his office, but he also addressed my chronic bunion pain. His holistic approach gave me options beyond surgery. I appreciated the clear explanation of the treatments he was using. He and his staff used both clinical jargon (i.e. "putting [my] feet in traction" for ten minutes, or doing "electro stim") and layman's terms (i.e. "we're just gonna have these bands pull on your toes for the next ten minutes" or "we're going to use a little electrical current to activate some of the muscles that in your feet that you got into the habit of not using after you were injured.") I learned about Dr. Diamond from a friend that has been treated there. I heard he specializes in podiatry and sports injuries. I have had torn cartilage in both knees for years. After seeking treatment at Jefferson sports medicine several times, I was told don't run or have surgery that may not work Dr. Diamond and his staff was wonderful. Dr. Diamond is incredible and life saver! I was having a pain in the ball of my foot and all the previous doctors were telling me that this was a pain that I would have to live with. I am writing this letter on behalf of my mother regarding Dr. Diamond. My mother suffered from debilitating and chronic foot pain. She saw many foot doctors, and most only wanted to inject her with steroids and send her on her way. She was often in agony, and it was so upsetting for me and our family watching her suffer that I decided to search for alternatives to the standard doctors and treatment she was receiving. Dr. Diamond's office is the place you go to when you have routine and easy to treat injuries. No matter what your symptoms are you will receive the same treatment-for most people this probably works, but if you have a difficult to diagnose problem he will not know how to help you. The first time I went to Dr. Diamond I had plantar fasciitis and a stress fracture at my ankle. The treatment worked and I ordered custom orthotics for my flat feet. A few months later I developed severe heel pain and returned for treatment. I went to the office several times over the next few months, but I my pain never decreased. Dr. Diamond never varied my treatment (except to sell me very expensive foot gadgets) and never gave me a diagnosis. He wanted to inject my foot with some herbs but I refused-I wasn't going to get any sort of injection without a diagnosis. The last time I went back to his office he didn't even touch my foot- he said that "Well I don't think you need to worry about surgery or anything" and asked me what treatment I wanted! Seriously, I'm not the doctor-you are supposed to tell me what to do to get better! I found another doctor who immediately diagnosed me with a sub-acute stress fracture in my heel and put me in a walking boot for 6 months. Because I spent so many weeks walking on that foot I'm facing several more months of physical therapy. Diamond insisted several times that my foot wasn't broken, even though he didn't do any xrays or bone scans. He did ask me to come in several times a week for taping though ($$$) I'm not angry that Dr. Diamond didn't diagnosis me immediately-I'm upset that his office didn't bother to make a real effort to find out what was wrong. I lost a year of my life (or more) suffering through a painful ailment that could have been fixed in 6 weeks. read more

The staff was rude, service was rushed, environment was very chaotic. There were about 15 people in the room all being treated at the same time, with the same treatments. It seemed like a 1 size fits all approach to treatment. Everyone there was encouraged to purchase expensive foot splints. Receipts were not accurate, with incorrect dates, codes, and staff would not return calls to rectify. read more

so I was a patient for two weeks. First visit was awesome except when checking in the front desk lady had a nasty attitude. I didn't say anything because I know we are all human. Next person came in and she had a different attitude. After a few mins I was sitting in a chair and another black man came in her attitude was horrible again. I decided to put my earphones on a continue. Second visit was ok as I didn't deal with her. This visit today 6/13/19 at 7:00 am was horrible. I was the second patient in and the second to be seated and feet serviced. She had a long conversation with another patient while I was done, she proceeded to talk until I mentioned the length of time I was sitting there. She decided to go to another patient was came in after men and took the tape off of his feet and took him to the doctor. If she wasn't talking for 10 mins she would have helped me. I asked and she said the guy needed the specific chair. I decided that moment that I was done. I hate to be treated different or unfair. I am paying money just like the next patient. I decided to leave. No one said anything or stopped me. I called to make the them aware on why I left and she was the one to answer the phone and still gave me the cold shoulder. I guess I will find another Doctor. If you are African American or other this is not the place for you. Dr. Diamond is nice but some of his staff needs training and attitude adjusting. read more

Dr Diamond and his team cured chronic bone pain in my feet that I thought was incurable. I was in increasing agony for two years after wearing rocker-bottom sandals for just one summer. It was so painful to stand, and then, even so painful when I was off my feet. I just had my last follow-up visit with Dr. Elliot Diamond. I have become too well to need treatment any longer thanks to him. I had severe arthritis in my right ankle due to 2 breaks and 1 surgery in 2009, I was in terrible pain in my ankle constantly, also in my right hip. I had difficulty walking and was told by other doctors that I should just get used to it......or I could have my ankle fused........then I went to see Dr. Diamond. I enjoyed walking into his huge office with all of the other patients.......we were a whole community and I could observe what treatments were being performed. He and his staff are kind, caring, and attentive. He got my insurance to give me a small tens unit to use at home and I continue to use it. The traction ( which I was told that he personally created)and acupuncture procedures were amazing. All holistic and natural treatments. My ankle no longer hurts except when it is about to rain, I get slight discomfort. There was nothing special about me or my ankle....I'm 43 years old, slightly over weight, and I am not an exercise junkie or healthy eater. I just wanted to be out of pain......and I am.
