What a great quality product and absolutely unexpected gem of a find for my husband during our…read morerecent trip to Nashville. This was a new brand to us all together and we loved the fabrics and the styles. My husband walked away with two shirts and a jacket. All of the materials are super soft (like buttery), no-iron and cuts are ready-to-wear off the shelf and look perfect on my husband. Although there are a few "cuts/styles" of let's say shirts, they are athletically cut and tailored, but off the shelf...there is definitely a market for this concept and I think State and Liberty looks to play a roll. We brought everything back to Vegas and my husband just wore the jacket today...he looked cool, classy, original and a bit baller I might say! Grace. What a great spirit of the State and Liberty brand working at this location here in Nashville. Thank you Grace for all of your help with my husband's purchases and the thoughtful time you spent with us to understand the brand, clothing and materials. Grace was excellent in her customer service. She made us feel welcome, she was relaxed in working with my husband on styles, she was knowledgeable of the brand and she made us feel good about our purchase. We loved everything about visiting this store and look forward to making future purchases from the brand in the future.

I bought a wool coat. Midlength, warm, perfectly tailored, delightfully cut. I have a problem that has become rampant in men's clothing today: things fit my chest but not my torso; things fit my torso but not my chest. State and Liberty fixes this problem. No need to tailor every shirt, to go coat shopping for a thousand years. Tge sizes run NORMAL (read : small for these days because they are made for normally sized humans), so their clothes fit. They feel good. They are worth every cent. I am going to be Bach! As I understand it, there are 17 brick and mortar stores around the country. I first heard about them on Instagram (this is a personal problem), and apparently there's one in Denver where I live. But here we are in Nashville...

So when it came time for him to buy his very own tuxedo for our wedding, he was psyched... honestly more excited than I was about dress shopping. Basically, buying a tuxedo comes down to two options (like any suit really): off the rack or custom made. There are two reasons why you would choose to have a suit custom made. One is that you have a funky figure or size and off the rack clothes don't fit you. The other is that you are incredibly picky. Guess which camp my husband fits in? Right, the second. He looked at Levy's, which had a large off the rack selection and he decided that the choices were not ACTUAL tuxedos but really suits pretending to be tuxedos. They had pseudo-custom but it didn't allow him to truly follow the tuxedo rule book. In steps J. Michaels. J Michaels might be the worst thing to ever happen to our checking account. My husband has found an oasis where he can make every single decision about the clothes he buys. His tuxedo is his favorite outfit. He got to choose everything and I mean everything: shape of the color, fabric of collar, fabric and grain of jacket, lining, length, width, how many pleats did you want, Sir? He had a wonderful experience. He brought along his brother to help and the next weekend they went back so his brother could order one too. They both looked amazing on our wedding day and I credit that to the good fits they got at J. Michaels. In addition to catering to the funky sized and super picky, they do sell off the rack clothes. It's a full service establishment, they will even help you learn to tie your bow tie. If suits are your thing and you enjoy being picky, this is your kind of place and I would strongly suggest you make an afternoon of it.

Excellent customer service with a wide variety of options. I purchased two ties and they are top…read moretier.

Very nice selection of clothing (men & women), purses, shoes, accessories (jewelry, belts, hats). I was trying to find a car-themed trucker hat for the husband but couldn't find one that he would like (he's picky). I was admiring a lily shaped hair stick in the glass case but regrettably didn't ask to see it. I may come back for that one! Very friendly staff who greeted us as we walked in. Pricing is on a higher end, but may be worth it for that one-of-a-kind gift.

It can be daunting picking where to go since you have never gone into that city or know the market. I visited on March 21,2026 Also, there is the question of selection, price point, and condition ESPECIALLY when buying vintage pieces. I decided to check out The Hip Zipper because it is supposedly the oldest vintage store in Nashville and the prices from other reviewers said were fair to affordable! Selection made for the first stop. I was greeted by the lovely Gracie name suited her. She allowed me to browse quick to answer questions and showed me to the dressing room all while juggling other clients. The Hip Zipper has an ample dressing room for trying on. I think there is only one dressing room. However, in a pinch they might use the restroom. I must mention they do have a restroom which is lovely. I really love the layout of the store easy to survey every rack CLEARLY marked with what is there. The tags give additional help on the size and prices are CLEARLY marked. Please remember vintage does run smaller don't FORCE these garments to fit if you are having trouble PLEASE ask for assistance. I picked up two very fabulous dresses from two different eras of fashion. A sweater dress with amazing details and a matching belt dating from the 1940's to 1950's $ 52.00 and a late 1970's early 1980's dress for a mere $ 10.00! Although I wish I spent more time looking at accessories! There were a few purses that I was swooning over now I wish I had picked one up. I will call tomorrow and ask if I bought it would shipping home be a possibility. The Hip Zipper DEFINITELY worth a visit if you are visiting Nashville.

This is the only place I shop now…read more I don't buy much clothes anymore but when I do it's at Abednego. All the clothes are unique, original, and very on trend. Meredith is always so nice when I come in to try on new stuff. I've bought everything from dresses to t-shirts to jeans to scarves to shoes. They have a great selection of accessories and home items too. All my rings and necklaces are from there now. The home items include door mats, dog bowls, glasses, cutting boards. Any time I need a present for a friend I can find something cute here. When I have family in town I take them here to get a feel of what cute boutiques are like in Nashville. This shop is the absolute best.

After calling different shops in the area ahead of time, I found Abednego had the best selection, and store manager Laura was amazingly kind and accommodating! When we arrived at the store, she had gift-wrapped the Jellycats for my daughter and her friend, and even added a cute pink helium balloon to make it extra fun. She had asked me her fav color the day before we arrived- talk about going above and beyond to help us with the surprise! Such a thoughtful touch and a really beautiful shop. Mackenzie was working the day we came in, and she was just the sweetest! I highly recommend supporting this small business and we will certainly be back next time we're in town.
