As a single parent trying to protect my children, I trusted them to advocate for me. Instead, I felt like I became nothing more than a billing opportunity. Tammy, in particular, operated in a way that felt completely driven by charging for every possible interaction rather than actually moving my case forward. I was repeatedly asked for the same information, charged for providing it, only to have it clearly not reviewed--then asked for it again and billed again. It felt careless at best and exploitative at worst. At one point, Tammy told me there was nothing I could do about a motion filed against me. That was flat-out wrong. I had to research, figure out how to fight it myself, explain it to my own attorney, and ultimately won the motion based on my own work. Afterward, hearing her say "I love to win" was honestly unbelievable considering she contributed nothing beyond submitting what I handed to her. I submitted a detailed parenting plan on December 3, 2025. Instead of using that, I was later sent what appeared to be a generic, AI-generated parenting plan that didn't reflect my requests and leaned heavily in favor of the other party. Then I was told to review it, fix it, and send back changes--while being billed again for the privilege. That is not representation--that's outsourcing the attorney's job back onto the client. Perla was part of the same cycle--constant requests, constant billing, and little confidence that anything was being handled with attention to detail. Communication was equally unprofessional. I was billed for phone calls where I could barely hear anything over background noise, including a child she was babysitting. Being charged for that level of distraction and lack of focus is unacceptable. The best comparison I can make is this: Genesis Family Law operates like a shady car dealership. They are attentive and convincing when you first sign up, but once you're in and need real service, the quality drops and the charges keep coming.
