She happily answers questions but never talks my ear off (which I appreciate). The salon is comfortable and the other folks working there seem professional, never gossipy. If you go here, I do not recommend Lindsey. A few weeks ago I had an appointment with her and she was acting off and not her usual self. When my hair was done I was devastated. My hair looked nothing like my inspo picture. My roots were a purplish red, there was a brown band of my natural color and my ends were the only correct color. I started having a panic attack and just wanted to pay and get out. She tried to gaslight me and tell me that's how she always does my hair and "it was the same color as my ends" then even put the ends of my hair to my roots before realizing she was wrong and finally stopped talking over me. Before I left she offered to fix it at no charge since I was paying her that day. I made an appointment for it to be fixed 2 weeks later. The day of my scheduled re-service, she was opening the door to let a client out and saw me then walked out the door and into the back alley. When she finally came back inside the salon to fix my hair she told me she couldn't do my roots and would only dye my ends darker or blend it into my ends and ruin my pretty ginger color as well my roots that she had already ruined. I told her I'm not doing that and she told me to come back yet another day to re-do my roots at FULL PRICE. So she never fixed my hair nor did she give me a refund or discount. She continues to lie and tell her coworkers that I didn't like the prices even though I paid nearly $400 my first visit and around $160 to $180 plus a generous tip at every appointment FOR A YEAR. She also told them I don't want my hair bleached .. I've been getting my hair bleached and colored since I was 13. I know hair has to be bleached in order to go lighter. At this point, I don't want Lindsey or any of them for that matter touching my hair, since they think she acted appropriately and think my roots look ginger/copper (pics below). I didn't want to do this. I gave them 3 weeks to fix their mistake. I've called and my sister, who is a hair stylist in another state, have called repeatedly. I've spoke with owner and she told me she would call me back but she ghosted me instead. read more

I appreciate the stability of her staying there... sometimes, stylists move around a lot. The prices are good. My cut today was 40 plus a 10- dollar tip. That's a bargain for a good cut like this. WOW! no words. First, it should be noted that I live in Washington DC and planned a destination wedding in Carrollton. So I want to recognize that Elle Salon and it's entire staff did an amazing job of helping me plan our appointment and making be comfortable prior to my appointment that it would all work out perfectly. Now, to the appointment. As you can imagine a wedding day is chaotic. Full of emotions as well as puzzle pieces that have to be put into place at the last minute! Elle Salon was not one of these pieces. My party and I all trickled in a different times and the stylists fit us in as needed (they also let us enjoy some mimosas in their comfortable waiting area. Not enough can be said though for Mallory and Cheyenne. They were the stylist assigned to my (very picky) bridal party and I for updos. They works with all of our hair types with ease and really listened to what each girl wanted. I want to additionally commend Mallory for: 1. Her talent when dealing with my hair. I have very long, thick, curly hair... with a lot of frizz. I have always had to fight with it to tame it. She somehow managed to make my hair look silky smooth and tame it with zero problems. 2. Her ability to really listen to me and what I wanted and make a finish product I and my mother loved (despite my mom and i bickering on our differing opinions)! :) 3. Her patience. I had to wrangle my mother and mother in law in because they were very late. Cheyenne and Mallory were very patient and kind with them (also elevating stress from the bride). All in all. Chloe cuts my hair but I've been to Lindsay too. Both are great. The other stylists are always doing a great job on their clients hair when I go in. Glad I started coming here. Use their website for appointments and you can pick your service and time as well as stylist by picture. It's easy to make appointments this way. The prices are nice and fair compared to most salons. I thought it would be way more expensive. My teen daughter and son both started coming here too and they do a great job on the trendy young styles nowadays. read more

I was very excited to have them do my hair for the first time. I made an appointment with April the owner. She was very sweet as was each employee that I had contact with. However the big factor is the hair. I came in with a picture of very dark brown hair mixed with very light platinum blonde hair. My hair is a strawberry blonde color. First issue: I paid for a full set of foils. Everywhere that I have ever been, that included all of my hair. Here they left the middle layer of my hair completely untouched/unfoiled. Even though at the start, I said I wanted NONE of my original color left. Second issue: I told April at the very beginning that my previous stylists have said that my hair does not take color well, so I generally have to sit there for about 4 hours having my hair done. She put me under a portable heat lamp for around 10 minutes, then added an extra 5 minutes. Third issue: I asked for my hair to be cut - around 2" off of the total length, but more if needed to get the dead ends off. RESULTS: my hair color did not change at all. I left with split ends still in my hair. It cost me $120.00 for the color AFTER I was quoted $90.00 on the phone and a WHOPPING $50.00 to cut a straight line of hair... no layers, no bangs - and I was still left with split ends bc enough wasn't taken off. The picture and request I made for my hair, should have been a dramatic change. When I saw my husband and co-workers, they all thought I didn't have anything done. I took selfies in the chair at the time that show the middle layer of my hair unfoiled, I took a selfie in Elle Salon of the length of my hair... and I took one immediately after she finished, while still sitting in the chair, and just outside of the business. I am happy to email anyone these pictures if you are thinking of going and want to know what you are paying for. Overall I feel like I got nothing, except for ripped off. I rationalized it to myself while there that maybe they just didn't know how to do my hair and needed a practice run. However, after much thought and consideration on what a review can do to a business, I still felt that I should share my experience. I paid $170.00+ tip and received nothing. My hair color didn't change. My hair still needs to be cut to get rid of split ends. I have a friend that uses Mallory and said she does a fantastic job. I cannot stress enough that everyone was very nice to me, which makes it harder to give a negative review, but when I messaged April with my concern about the price of my haircut - $50.00 as she already said she was disappointed in how the color came out while i was there, so no need to bring that up again, she basically said "well that is the price we charge for any haircut, sorry". read more

Elle is a fantastic salon on the square in Carrollton. April always does a great job with my hair (and I'm not easy to please when it comes to my hair). I've been coming to Elle Salon on the Square for pretty much a decade - despite living out of state for grad school and living in Atlanta for the last 3 years- I keep coming back because it's THAT great. April (then owner) is an incredible stylist and a sweet, amazing, wonderfully talented human being and business owner. Through the years she's done all kinds of cuts (short bobs, lobs, shags, long layers, one lengths) balayage, semi-permanent color (the gloss they carry and use is amazing by the way) and a full wavy perm on my very thick, course, dark hair and its all looks amazing. The entire salon staff are the sweetest people you'll ever meet. I had my wedding day hair and makeup and the hair and makeup of my bridal party done at Elle as well and all my bridesmaids said it was the best event hair they've ever had done. Special shout out to Mallory for the most gorgeous updo and Cheyanne for my stunning makeup. Elle is an Aveda concept salon, the products (and colors) they use are amazing, top notch quality, natural, smell amazing, and are sold there.
