The beer and wine on top were high quality and we enjoyed that some of the beers were local. I really liked the set up - there are separate areas (couches by the fireplace, dining tables for eating, bar area and outdoor patio) and people could move around easily to socialize. We also hired Luigi's pizza (recommended by Silver Oak) and enjoyed delicious food all night. Everything about the night turned out perfectly and we were thrilled with our event. We highly recommend this spot - it is a hidden gem.

Katie was a delight to work with in the months and weeks leading up to our wedding and the banquet manager Ashley was accessible and helpful the few days before and day of our reception. We were surprised by the quality of the food- my husband and I ate our entire dinners and had a couple apps during cocktail hour! Unheard of, right? It was so yummy I insisted we sit for a few minutes, enjoy each others' company, and eat our meals. Thankfully the weather cooperated so our guests could fully enjoy the view, but even had it rained, the wrap around porch is protected by an overhang so I think guests could still be outside. The pool area was one of the highlights -- plenty of seating and they even show movies at night which gives it a fun family-friendly vibe. There's also a bar on-site (although no happy hour on Fridays or Saturdays), with multiple seating options. One area was quieter and more spacious for relaxing with a drink, while another was outdoors with fire pits which looked nice in the evening. The hotel has a fun maritime theme. The rooms were spacious and conveniently included both a microwave and mini fridge, which always makes traveling easier. The location is hard to beat since it's directly across from Mystic Aquarium and close to everything else in the area. Overall, a comfortable and convenient place to stay in Mystic. We would definitely stay here again.

I had a bowl of the chili today and was equally impressed as it had a nice blend of heat and flavor (I added cheese, onions, and jalapenos. The music is top notch as the jukebox can be loud if you ask for it, has very new music, and is one that can very quickly access the internet and download new music. It's not terribly expensive either. The shuffle board table was a blast to play and we had a great time trying it out. There are also two dart boards (they are close to the shuffle board so watch out for dart professionals getting "stupid loose" and screaming "MOUNTAIN TOP" and then stabbing you in the neck or heart with a dart lol). There is also a pool table that two of my buddies tried out and had no complaints. The beer? Oh the beer is the cheapest prices ANYWHERE in town and the same for the mixed drinks. It's also got a TON of submarine history on display. The urinal stickers are one of my favorite things... You have to be a member to visit or be sponsored by one. If you know a submariner and have never been to the Subvets well you should ask him to take you!
