The grazing table they prepared was incredible. Everything was delicious and beautifully arranged, but the macarons completely stole the show. I'm honestly not usually a macaron person, but these were the BEST. One of the things that makes CC Farms so special is the owners, D.R. and Andy. I met them when they first opened and my fiancé and I have loved coming out for wine and light bites ever since. They truly care about the experience they create and it shows in every detail of the food and the space. They also host really fun events throughout the year. I've done a Painting with a Twist event there where we painted their adorable cow, Tippy. It's always such a fun atmosphere and they do a great job bringing people together. The wine is wonderful, the setting is gorgeous, and the staff is always kind and welcoming. It's one of our favorite places to spend time, and it made the perfect venue for such a special day. Decided to try this course because of its par 6 3rd hole. Three of us showed up on a Sunday because…read moreit was a rare Texas mild weather day (around 82 degrees). There were very few people on the course. The cost was $20 per person and included a cart. There was no dress code required. Parking sucked - no protection from a nearby hole (the 9th). Not many bunkers, but there were ravines and water hazards on probably 12 of the 18 holes (it's actually a 9-hole course that you play twice for 18). This day the mosquitos were BRUTAL! So if you play during mosquito season, make sure to bring some mosquito repellent. The fairways are fairly wide, but several holes are close together, and if you've never been here before (like us), it's hard to tell which flag/green you're supposed to be hitting at. Lots of hard pan and deep rough if you don't hit 'em straight. For $20, I'd play this course again. But I may make one of my buddies drive THEIR car next time. :D

Each one has been restored or modified to the MAX! I was completely impressed with every vehicle. Every few months they swap them out to show different cars and trucks. This is a must see. Although the seats are not the now typical recliners, they are just as comfortable and leather. The staff is so sweet and welcoming. I had no interest in the film that I saw, but was so glad to have come seen it because of the experience at the theatre. I will be back for every movie that I can stand to see. Whether or not you have a particular interest in what's playing, just come and treat it like a film club. You will not regret it!

A few scattered bunkers, and 2 holes with water if you don't keep your drives in the fairway. At the time of this review, I was paying $25 with cart on Tues, Weds & Thurs. I believe weekend rate is $33 with cart. Club membership is also available. Driving range ($3 for a bag of approx. 25 balls), and a practice putting green is also available. I believe there is a bar & restaurant, although I usually just golf here. The only thing I wasn't happy with is the lack of yardage markers on the fairways. They're very difficult to locate, unless you have some kind of electronic device for yardage.

Alaska's Place is one of those hidden gems, diamond in the rough spots. Where the owner/operator just recently took over the property and is rebranding the place. While it's a mix of farm & out in the woods rustic atmosphere, of being far removed from anywhere yet only a handful of miles from the conviences of modern life, it's a place of potential. Come for a bit of camping, nomadic folks come and build what you need, stay for a bit and it feels like home. Also be sure to ask about Charlotte.
