I wanted to like this place. Coming in I thought wow, how nice, a place for military family and…read morefriends to gather and get to know one another. Share stories, etc seeing as how isolating this town can feel. They have a nice bar and a large separate area for gatherings. I was there as part of a large group gathering and I felt everything but welcomed there. What we got were condescending looks from old ladies. As a little miIitary family I would think they'd be more warm. They were only upbeat and nice when they wanted money for their little ticket lottery which we happily gave money for and not carimg if we won or not. Toward the end of the evening my son was fed up of the event so he would run around the room and it was hard to keep him sitting still but our group event was still happening. Well, I got a rude condescending demand from an older lady to not let my son play with her computer (he had been walkin around it and I would keep trying to take him out of the area to mo avail). It was something blurted out for everyone else to hear, and embarassing. Even people from our group function made remarks about how rude and grouchy they were. Do they not remember what it was like to have a toddler? They should just have a strict no child sign or something because this place is clearly not family friendly whether you are military, veteran, whatever. Or maybe they dont realize how hard it is to go out as a family when you have no support or person to watch your child so you can enjoy a night out and attend a group function (the true life behind a military family). Chill out lady. 1. I don't wish for my son to play with your computer whatsoever. I kept trying to stop him from touching it. 2. Your tone did not have to be so rude. If you talk to me like a person I will listen and happily try to do my best to follow your request. 3. Maybe you should keep your computer and tip jar and money drawer out of reach and somewhere safer and higher so I dont have to keep getting rude looks because you probably assumed I was there to steal your tips when really I am just trying to keep my toddler calm. I'm just a mom trying to keep her child out of trouble without handving them glued to a screen, I am not a thief or careless person. 4. Lady, you could have come up to me or called me over to you and I would have happily come over to you and considered your words. You could have told me this in a nicer tone, especially since you didnt even call my attention except for that one rude time. Did you think I was having fun trying to keep my child calm? I have no interest in returning to a place that makes me feel like scum....and this my first impression....feeling unwelcomed. They say the young are entitled, well the elderly are not far from it. The only 2 stars are because the cook/gentleman collecting plates was actually a nice man.

What a fantastic place for building stuff!…read more My dad first learned about Xerocraft when he needed to rent a particular type of woodworking machinery, only to learn that he could come in to the shop and use it. They have a massive wood shop full of tools and machines, so whether you're an experienced woodworker who needs to use something special, or if you're new to building stuff, it's a great place to check out. The laser cutter is super cool! You can cut or etch a variety of materials, including wood and acrylic, using your own designs on the computer. They have a ton of 3d printers, so if you need to make a weird little part for something, minis for your D&D game, or anything else, they're happy to show you how to run the equipment and get you going. If you want to be prepared to rebuild after the zombie apocalypse, you can even learn how to weld! I have no idea when I would ever need to know how to do it, but I wanted to learn, so I attended a Thursday night class and got hands-on practice, and now I could build an epic Mad Max battle wagon if I felt like it! There's also WTF nights (womens, trans, femme) where folks get together for all sorts of neat projects. If you join their Facebook group, you can see what events are coming up. If you want to get started, your best bet is to send an email message so you can set up a meeting with a staffer/volunteer who can show you the ropes and get you set up to work safely. The hours can be a bit odd, but all the folks I've worked with have been very helpful, and they'll make sure to take care of you.
