Dr. Austin saw our 6lb Yorkie for an emergency last week. He had a small puncture in his right lung. He was throwing up blood as we drove (1 hour) to the clinic. We stayed in touch with them while we were driving-updating them on his condition. They were ready for him when we arrived. Not only did they get him stabilized quickly, Dr. Austin let us know his condition pretty quickly. He spent two nights in the hospital and Dr. Austin communicated with us everyday, sometimes twice. We thought the charges were VERY reasonable for his 48 hours of care, X-rays, blood tests, medicines, IV's, etc. This clinic cares for animals and helping to get them well. This is fast food service with a luxury wrapper, except it takes an entire day. 3 visits with the same experience. The doctors are too busy. One visit had a huge Rottweiler that the owner warned everyone to stay away. The animal was uncontrollable and literally drug the owner across the floor while he was trying to restrain him from attacking. They made him wait too exposing people and pets to harm. I don't usually do business with people where I feel the need to carry a firearm. An inept nurse will take you in eventually. I asked about services I was charged for the week before that were not great (shaving the back side) and was told you get what you get. It was $50. My last vet was free. Figured they'd try to do a decent job. The nurse will then take your pet to the secret room where you can hear everyone discussing personal items like forgetting their lunch for the 3rd week straight. That's who I want sticking needles in my pet. A hangry person that probably has the shakes with early onset dementia or a drug problem. If you love your pet like family go elsewhere. read more

I am so grateful this place exists. My dog Shiloh had to have emergency GVD surgery last night. We live very rural, and out of the four vet clinics in Winnemucca nobody answered their "emergency line" or simply said they were unavailable to perform surgery. Elko is three hours from us, and without this clinic we would have to have driven an extra 45 minutes to Reno, and that extra hour could have proven fatal. Dr. Yount let us come in after midnight and even texted me for symptom updates on the drive. There was a woman there as well I believe also a doctor but I am not sure about her name. Within twenty minutes of getting to the clinic he had her in surgery, and an hour later she was done and had lived through it, despite being 13. I can't stop crying, it wouldn't be possible to express my gratitude. My dog is my best friend. read more

Woof woof! Kumar and Athena here, reporting live from our tail-wagging adventure at Elko Veterinary Clinic! From the moment we trotted in, we were greeted with friendly chin rubs, cheerful "good job!" praises, and--best of all--healthy treats that made our tails spin like propellers! The humans here really know how to speak our language. They told our parents to stock up on Greenies (yes please!) to keep our teeth sparkly and our tummies happy. We felt like VIPups the whole time. Okay, real bark: we didn't love the shots or that weird goo they squirted in our mouths (dewormer? more like de-yuck-er). But we know it's all part of staying strong and zoomie-ready. And the team made it quick and gentle, so we forgave them pretty fast. We're already wagging with excitement for our next visit in August! Can't say enough good about Dr. Perchetti and his two vet techs (can't remember their names, but one started with M) helping me with my horse in an emergency colic situation. I had lost a horse to colic 4 months prior, so they helped me help my current horse remove impaction and get him feeling right as rain. He was knowledgable and quick, the girls really cared for my sweet old man horse. Thankful for them!!! read more

Elko vet equine department needs better vets. They ae extremally lazy and bill you for things you did not receive. One of our mares we were told had laminitis. X-rays were taken and when I asked for the xrays their machine broke and they lost everything. I took our mare to a nationally know vet clinic. We were told she had an abscess and that if an exam had been done on the mare along with x-rays you could clearly have seen it was an abscess. Fast forward this mare is as sound as ever now! We took the same mare back to Elko vet equine to have her teeth looked at due to she was losing weight. My appointment time was 8:30am. I was the only horse trailer in the parking lot and had the only horses on the property. I was not seen by Dr. Morgan until almost 10:30am. She never looked at the mare. She printed off her last float in Oct.2022 and said she needed to be seen at 6 months. When on the paperwork she printed off said to be seen in 1 year. When I asked about this I was told " oh yeah, we should of communicated that. Our bad" I have several other horror stories about the equine vets at Elko vet clinic. I will make the 4/5 hour trip to a Nationally recognized vet clinic to get proper care and not the laziness you get from the 2 equine vets at Elko vet clinic. read more

Had to stop thru here on a roadtrip because my dog had an emergency. Hated the fact that I had to take her to a place she had never been, putting her paw in the hands of some stranger. We literally had 5 mins before their closing time, but they said if we got there after hours, to knock on the door and they'd see us, knowing it was an emergency. They were very sweet, caring and knew that we wanted to see our pups get better. We had to leave her overnight but they assured us it would be okay. Gave us an estimate of the costs and told us they would call us with the prognosis later that eve, which they did. Was able to get her in the morning and the vet Dr. Perchetti was very sweet in telling me what was wrong with our dog and what her protocol would be the next couple days. I am very pleased with the customer service, care and treatment that they provided for my fur baby. I would recommend 100%. read more

Unfortunately they up charge all services. You won't get out of there without paying at least one to two hundred minimum. They always overbook themselves so be prepared to wait an extra hour or even longer and are never on time. They have treated my dog multiple times for the same issue however has not helped and charge $60 a visit regardless of follow up. I do not recommend. Go to Aspen Vet instead. read more

We love this place. We just moved and needed a new vet for our two fur kids. Dr Warner is awesome. He takes time to see the dogs and talk to us. He is thorough and explain options. The staff is friendly and helpful. The waiting area is large and sectioned for fur kids to have separation. Love that they are open on the weekend too! They worked with us when we were away to get meds we forgot at home for our anxious dog to travel. Lifesaver! read more

Garbage, had an 11am appointment for just a claw trim. They had all the information wrong when I got there, spent an hour in the waiting room while others that got in after me went in. I just walked out, I won't be back. Worst vet experience I've ever had. read more

Our cat was meowing in pain while urinating. We were able to schedule an appointment within 48 hours ($89.75). A urinalysis ($49.42) & ultrasound ($49) detected crystals in his bladder. A shot of Convenia ($82.60) was administered plus a single dose of Metacam ($27.75) to take home with recommended HydraCare packs & a change in food. A medical progress exam (quoted $46.75 but charged $49) was scheduled for 2 weeks later. He was not initially given enough medicine to fully flush the crystals so an additional 10 day supply of Amoxicillin ($24.17) was added. We were double charged for our second exam, which was taken off only after I pointed it out and not told that a second urinalysis would be an additional charge. The hydra care packs cost 3x more than what we paid for online. The receptionist told me twice that I needed a prescription for them which is not true as I had already purchased and received them from Chewy. A third check up was scheduled but we cancelled. If the vet had been doing her job right and given the appropriate diagnosis & medicine this problem could've been solved in one visit. The only good thing I can say is that our cat does not appear to be in pain anymore. Total bill: $656.76. I do not recommend this place. read more

I have to go back two more times in the next 3 weeks, but I have to say that this place is awesome! They are in the perfect price range and don't do ANYTHING without your approval. They were able to get me in the same day I called and I got to see Dr. Richardson. He made me feel so at ease and I felt like my concerns really had validation. He did a completely check up on her and was so gentle with her. He really took the time to talk to me and explain why he wanted to do what he wanted to do. He (and his vet tech!) made both me and my dog feel much better! read more

While camping in Wendover, Utah, our 5 yr. old Lab injured his mouth and we couldn't stop the bleeding. I was 'after hours' and Elko was 120 miles away, but it was the closest place we could find. Teal was there when we arrived and Dr. Fallini arrived quickly. She did surgery and found a severed artery under his tongue. No idea how that happened, probably running with his mouth open and ran into something. She did a wonderful job on taking care of his injuries and we are so grateful since he probably would have 'bled out' if they had not been available to work on him. They even called after we got back to our home in Southern Oregon to check on him. We will be forever grateful to these wonderful people! read more

I cannot say enough about this veterinary clinic in Elko Nevada. D.V.M. Mike Perchettie has saved 3 of my dogs that were seriously ill. D.V.M Allen Cuthberson is an equally skilled veteran. The staff is skilled and helpfull. The facility is clean and well lit. They were able to diagnose and address medical issues with my dog that other vets failed to do. When it comes to saving your pets life, they will do an excellent job. I called them about a lost dog that was in a distressed condition they were able to reunite the dog with it's owner. This is a family founded bussisness Allen Cuthberson is a second generation vet who has had lifelong experiance and dedication to animal health. This facility has been a asset to the rual area of Northern Nevada for over 50 years. If you have animals that are precious to you, and are living or visiting northern Nevada do your animals a favor have their number on your phone if you have an emergency you will be glad you did. read more

These people saved my butt. On the road with a sick dog. On a Saturday. The vets in Winnemucca were useless. Of the two, one had a recording, the other's "emergency" person was "off for the weekend." My dog was sick and needed fluids, which a vet in Portland, OR had administered two days earlier and which had really helped. They found a way to take me in, reassure me they would get my dog some fluids (thanks, Tiffany!) after talking with the tech. I saw a vet, who was kind and compassionate. They examined him and gave me - critically - a bag of fluids to take with me for my return home until I could get in to see my local vet. They didn't have to do any of this, but they went out of their way to help someone who was on the road. It's bad enough for a person to be sick on the road, but to have a sick pet a long way from home can really be horrifying. They made me feel as though I was at home. I was so grateful to have found this place in Elko. read more
