Dr. Allen is extremely knowledgeable and genuinely listens to where you want the work focused. The nerve sensations and tightness in my arm have changed over time, and he has always adjusted each session to accommodate exactly what I needed that day. He truly cares about his patients and takes the time to get to know you--not just in terms of your recovery, but also how you're doing in life. He's an absolute pleasure to talk to. A couple of things to note: sessions aren't cheap ($85), but you're paying for his expertise and level of care, which I believe is well worth it. He also sees multiple patients at the same time, so there can be some delays past your appointment time--plan accordingly and allow some flexibility. Dr. Allan Duong was the practitioner who carried out my acupuncture treatments. He was very kind and listened to my concerns while we discussed possible treatments. When we agreed on how to proceed, he explained what he was doing at every step. Because this was my first time seeing an acupuncturist, I was really nervous and didn't know what to expect, but Dr. Duong was very gentle and patient. The first time I went to the Living Well Clinic, I did not have an appointment with Dr. Sunstrom. However, he was willing to fit me in to his schedule in less than 30 minutes. He's an 85 year old man that's been doing acupuncture for 47 yrs years. He also teaches Tai Chi at a local retirement home on Thursday for an hour. He was the least expensive practitioner I found because he had no overhead of a building to rent from. He said he would be willing to come to my house for the same price. Wow! He has a sweet and pleasant bedside manner, like your loving Grandfather would have. The house was warm but the room we were in was warmer by the space heaters he was using. He has you put on a hospital gown. He used a tens unit type machine hooked up to the needles in addition to the acupuncture needles. All the needles were new and came in sterile packaging. For the same price he offers cupping. The appointment lasted for about an hour. Will come back again.
