First, he very patiently explained why I needed to start with a SARPE surgery to get truly transformative results. He showed me simulations of how the surgery worked and was honest with me about what recovery would be like (rough). After a few months of recovery, he fixed an expanding device to the roof of my mouth and we began slowly cranking the roof of my mouth wider and wider. I won't lie, I was a whiner; I hated wearing that device because it gave me a lisp. But Dr. Dougherty encouraged me at every appointment to hang in there and stay the course. Then, I had the choice of wearing traditional braces for about six months or Invisalign for about a year and a half. I chose to go with Invisalign, which ended up taking almost a year longer than we thought it would. If I could go back, I'd go the traditional braces route and just suffer through it for a shorter period (which was Dr. Dougherty's recommendation to begin with). After everything, I can't argue with the end results. Friends tell me that my face is totally transformed. My lawline is definitely more defined. Dr. Dougherty and the rest of the staff are so friendly and always check in with you about how you are doing at every appointment. He helped me work out a payment plan that made all this affordable for me, and listened to my concerns every step of the way. Dr. Dougherty cares about his patients and I highly recommend seeing him for orthodontics. I never had to spend long in his waiting room, and when I needed to reschedule appointments, the front desk staff were helpful and accomodating.

Dr. Niki made small, incredibly precise adjustments that made all the difference. She refined the top bulk shape, added subtle composite where needed, and buffed to a beautiful shine so the teeth blended with the others. The result is natural and I am no longer self-conscious What stood out is the level of care she puts into her work. Dr. Niki takes her time, is open minded, and involves you in the process by letting you check the progress along the way. That made me feel comfortable and confident. The other dentist kept telling me I couldn't look until he was done which by then it is too late. Dr. Niki wants to be a team and is very artistic in her approach. She genuinely cares about getting everything to look right, old-fashioned dentistry in a young doctor, not just pushing veneers, but carefully building and refining composite bonding if you select that route. One major difference I noticed was her attention to detail in polishing. Dr. Niki uses a full range of fine sanding and polishing discs to shape and finish the composite properly. That's something my previous dentist didn't have - he had limited discs, and it made all the difference... the final result has a natural luster instead of looking flat or bulky which he could not achieve because he did not have the variation of colors of discs. I couldn't be happier with how my teeth turned out. I wish I would've had her do the whole composite from the beginning rather than just fixing the other dentist's work. The pricing was very reasonable for the level of precision and care.
