Between Liverpool st and Collins st lies the once mighty Elizabeth St mall. Once the literal heart of the hobart CBD, recent times has seen it start a slow, sad decline. Filled with a small assortment of chain stores, sushi places and Internet cafes in a weird mix of small run down phone case stores and expensive pseudo- medical aesthetics. Buskers of questionable talent frequently sing, shout, yodel or preach near the Liverpool end. Now that's it's been overshadowed by the Cat and Fiddle redevelopment, there's not much reason to go unless it's for a specific store. In dire need of a makeover. read more
