We went in to this place tojust check it out. She has the best cupcakes that I have tried. And they change the flavors of them from week to week. Great Prices and great atmosphere. Will definatly continue to go here. Hands down strawberry milkshake cupcake is the best!!! read more

History

Established in 2013.

We are Robin Heckman and Cristy McKenzie. Robin has been decorating cakes for over 15 years for family and friends. Cristy has had experience in catering and making food for large groups. We got together about 2 years ago and realized we shared the same vision- to open a cafe or bakery with quality food, and to share our artistic abilities through baked goods- specifically decorated sugar cookies.

It pains me to say this but their quality has been going downhill for takeout orders, which we…read moreusually do on Sundays on our way back home. Three times we have ordered in the past few months and we have had issues. My favorite thing on the menu is the German 2x2x2. I love the combo of the potato pancakes, the sausage patties, and the egg. The first time of the three my issue was small, I always request cheese on my eggs and that was missed. The last time before today I was given bacon instead of sausage, which is not even an option on the menu as the dish itself is supposed to be sausage, not a choice of meat. Today, I was again given bacon (I do not like take out bacon as it does not travel well) instead of sausage patties and my potato pancakes were so burnt they were inedible. I ate the eggs and threw away my soggy, limp bacon and the black potato pancakes. Clearly there is no one running quality checks. As this is the third issue I think we will take a break on carry outs from Ned's and go elsewhere. I really hope they turn it around! We used to love Ned's!

I went by around noon and almost all the donuts were gone (a good sign!) and there was still a line in the drive-through. Naturally, I was inside. I had a super puffy glazed doughnut. Had a pretty thick coating of glaze, but it needed it because the donut was so thick. Please see photo. The other doughnut was something called Butter Nutter or something and looked like a Butterfinger was smashed and put over the top of the donut. See photo. I worried that the super thick glazed donut was going to be raw because it was so enormous, but it was cooked well enough where it was fine. It's sort of a skin on it like a bagel. Tasted really good. The other doughnut was super super sweet like sugar on top of sugar. I wouldn't have normally ordered it, but they were out of everything else that I normally would order. Good but too sweet for me. Again it was fried crispy, which is how I liked donuts. The ambience is what you would expect in an old donut shop... comfortably worn... I'll be back when I need a doughnut in this area.. Bonus: They also had fresh unsweet tea, which is great!

It's not a big place but it's big enough. There's actually quite a variety. Funny names. May be only a few but these all rotate. It's about $7 a pint. That's okay for a small local brewery like this. Best one we had was the Lickspittle Kolsch. This is a classic German style. A kind of limited food menu. It's about $2 for things like popcorn. A few cheesy and meaty things like charcuterie. They also have a guest sometimes to cook onsite. Has a limited amount on tap of their own beers. It's got a lot of guest beers along with a few snacks. They're closed Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
