This is a nice albeit tiny little naturist spa in the leafy Alexandra Palace area. Couples pay £16, Males pay £16 and Females £5 so if you have a partner, it is obviously very cost effective to go together. This allows you to use the facilities all day (which are basically a sauna, a wonderful steamroom, and a jacuzzi). There is a small café area where juices cost as little as 50p.
All staff are completely naked and this is a very non-seedy venue. The staff walk around constantly to make sure there is no hanky-panky going on. My partner did find the jacuzzi a little unclean to her liking and did see a couple of pubes floating in the water, but I can't say I noticed.
If you are going in on your own, as a male £16 is rather steep. Therefore, it is only cost-effective if combined with a massage. For as little as £32 you get a half-hour naturist Swedish massage from the mainly Spanish masseuses (£47 for an hour). You can choose front or back massage or, if an hour, you get both. But before anyone gets too excited don't be: this is a professional service, no seediness, and I imagine if you asked for any extras you'd be thrown out and banned. All the masseuses are highly qualified, their certificates lining the wall of reception. The advantage of going for a massage is that the £16 entry to use the facilities is thrown in, plus the juices and teas and coffees are free. Which is all together a good deal. However, ideally book the massage for later in the day so that you do not risk making the jacuzzi all oily with massage oil, and end the day on the massage.
My biggest complaint is that they no longer stock Health & Efficiency magazine in the reception, which I used to buy every month. This is a bit of a bummer. But other than that, this is a great place. Look on the noticeboard for up-and-coming parties. Facepainting, body-painting and a Spanish party have all been on the radar in recent months. read more
