Everything was perfect and on time. I am a Hair and Makeup artist by profession and I have barely worked on weddings that are on time and well organized. Venders quotes: There are cheap, average, good and excellent vendors in the market. And I guess not everyone understands that. I work with a few wedding planners and Sonal is one of my favorites because she does not compromise with quality. All the vendors that she recommended at my wedding did an amazing job. My husband is very picky and selective and the vendors that she recommended made our ideas and visions a reality! Some people find documents worthless, but I think working with proper documents/contracts is very important. Those papers is what keeps every single detail correct and make the wedding flow perfectly. Living in the world of fashion and beauty, I don't remember doing a job without a contract or a proper call sheet. And having family contacts at a wedding is equally important. What if you call is not going though and there is something very important that needs to be informed? The 1-9 contacts will come in handy at that time. Sonal and her team are one of the most professional in the industry. From their appearance to their attitude. I have spoken to Sonal and her entire team a number of times and I have never ever sensed any negative attitude. In fact, every single thing I was curious about, she and her team was able to answer it. My mom forgot a Varmala for the groom and it took them no more than 1 hour to get them. Which was just hours before the ceremony started. Sonal and SJS events are one of the most reliable wedding planning services around. One of my best friends is getting married and I sent them with my eyes closed to SJS events. I know for a fact that their wedding will be as good as mine or even better with Sonal as a wedding planner. And I personally know a lot of people who had SJS events as their wedding planners and not one of them would give less than FIVE starts to them!!

From the minute we reached out to them, they had been nothing short of perfect: thoughtful, versatile, responsive, professional, and so incredibly empathetic. And thanks to our crazy Silicone Valley hours on top of the East Coast-West Coast distance, Annie and Una spent many late nights going over mood boards, design proposals, and vendor options with us to make sure we are hitting our deadlines and on the same page. A little bit about working with the venue: we had chosen the Asian Art Museum and there were many constraints that came with it. Not only was there the challenge of lighting and decorating an indoor space with limited natural light, but there was also a very strict timeline on the wedding day itself (we had to wait until after museum hours before any set up could begin). Thanks to Annie's design background and extensive experience, we were able to put together a magical and picture perfect day for us and all of our guests. We have received so many compliments on the beauty and quality of our wedding throughout this first year, and it's all thanks to the two of them. On the wedding day itself, even when under the stress of managing so many people with so little time, Annie and Una remained empathetic, organized, and professional throughout. My husband and I truly enjoyed every single interaction that we've ever had with them, and we owe them so much. Thank you, Annie and Una, for all of your creativity and sincerity. We love and miss you both so much!

Daughter of Design offers a few different packages, and we opted for the month-of wedding planning. As soon as we hit July, Sarah was all over the coordination of the vendors, decorative details, timelines, tipping, you name it. But the real magic comes on the wedding day, where the Daughter of Design team ensures a seamless transition from planning into reality. Some of my favorite details from their service: a timeline down to the minute by minute breakdown for both the rehearsal and the wedding, managing of the tips for all of the vendors, being the liaison between us and the venue, and of course, directing all the traffic from wedding party to the guests and the event. Their attitude and service always put me at ease, and made me feel dangerously relaxed for the wedding :) Unless you want to be the bride running around with a clipboard on your big day, I would recommend signing up with Annie/Sarah now. Regardless of how organized you/your fiancee are, the amount of stress that these girls takes off your plate is well worth it!

In our case, she agreed to do a last-minute wedding, then dropped us a month before because we didn't want to use her basic vendors and tried to keep our money. The amount of extra costs we incurred as a result was horrible. She also made us feel cheap, when in reality we were just were not interested in just throwing 20k for a photographer we weren't absolutely obsessed with. Without question, working with Dominique was one of, if not THE best decision I made throughout the entire process. She is a true professional, and she knows this industry through and through. Not only did she help us plan a day that I am still (4 months later) receiving compliments on, she made everything so EASY. Her warmth and energy, organization, attention to fine detail, and creativity are some of the things you will notice about Dominique upon first meeting. What you will also learn later on, is that she is well respected by her industry peers, calm under pressure, and listens to every request with an open mind and an honest opinion, if you want it. I had friends and family raving about Dominique to me after the wedding- saying how professional she was and always anticipating the needs of the guests. Above and beyond! She respected our budget, and I appreciated when she would suggest where we could scale back a little (save money) and when to work within a slightly higher budget for quality's sake. With Dominique, I never once felt like I had a "planner" with me, but an ally to help make sure my husband and I could enjoy the best day of our lives together. xxoo

She is kind, courteous, responsive, and an excellent writer and keen listener. From our first email exchange right up to the big day, Dominique was an invaluable resource and a memorable part of our successful ceremony. We had a wonderful experience with her from our initial meeting a few months before the day at a cafe in Union Square (where we hit it off and immediately knew that she was a great fit for us) to the excitement of signing our marriage license paperwork immediately following the ceremony, she was with us every step of the way. Dominique was available to us at any time and offered to provide council on wedding-related issues beyond the actual ceremony. Having access to her knowledgeable perspective was a great asset, especially when working out some of the finer details of the ceremony. She was very quick to respond to emails and always addressed each question and/or concern thoroughly and thoughtfully. Like others have mentioned, we did not want to write our own vows so between her personalized questionnaire and our first meeting, she was able to craft beautiful and heartfelt vows that truly captured us as a couple. Her knack for translating couples' thoughts and anecdotes is impressive! On the day of the wedding, Dominique was at our venue early and offered to help in any way possible. We wanted a brief yet personal ceremony and Dominique provided us with exactly that; the ceremony was beautiful and even better than we had envisioned. Our friends and family could not believe that we had only met Dominique a few months before; so many of our guests thought that she was an old friend of ours, which is a true testament to her abilities. Dominique is fantastic. If you're looking for an affordable and caring officiant who will deliver a memorable ceremony, look no further!

As soon as we met with her, I knew I wanted to work with her. She is super professional, down-to-earth and offered really helpful advice when we needed it. We hired Erganic for their "day of" services, which actually began two months before the wedding. Sojourner and her team put together a great day of schedule for us, contacted all of our vendors and maintained contact with them up and thru the wedding day. I didn't have to worry about a thing on our day, which was fabulous! One of her team members, Andrea, was assigned to me on the wedding day as my attendant. I can't say enough great things about her. She attended to my every need, yet gave me the space I needed to enjoy the day. She even helped work out a mishap with my makeup artist. Her other assistant, Michelle, was on the ball as well, sending us emails to make sure they had every detail in place for the day. Everyone from Erganic was amazing and I can't recommend their services more. I was truly impressed with their dedication in making sure we had the best wedding day ever!

My biggest fear was being late but vanessa created a time line that I tried my best to stick to. The day of, she arrived at my house and assisted the videographer and photographers with anything they needed. I almost forgot my husbands gift but she remembered! The minute we arrived at the venue I got a huge surprise from Sojourner! I was feeling so confident everything will move according to plan but it never does because it's a wedding! A few people saw me before the ceremony because the venue did not have a place for guests to wait so vanessa and Sojourner helped take care of that. They were on the hunt for the ring bearer and flower girls but most of all when my in laws were running late, somehow the ceremony went on and we still managed to end the reception on time. I didn't feel stressed and I really don't know how they did it but one thing is for sure I couldn't have enjoyed a smooth carefree day without them. Thank you both!!!!

One of the best and easiest decisions we made in planning our "big fat Indian wedding" was booking…read moreDesign House as our decor company. These folks are absolute professionals and visionaries, and can assertively tell you what can and cannot be made into reality. As the website describes, on your first consultation with Design House, you will sit down with Azizan who will literally sit with a blank sheet of paper, and start to sketch as you describe your wedding events and visions. Once she walked us through how she envisioned our wedding, we were able to tweak it (minor tweaks, she had nailed it to a T just from listening to us) and start looking at samples and vendor websites to transform our visions into reality. What we loved most about their proposal process is that Design House breaks down the pricing for you such that when you get to the point in the wedding planning process, inevitably, where you think "Oh shoot, we don't actually have the money for all of this," it is very easy to point to an item and say, "I think we can cut these extra florals" and painlessly remove them. Similarly, it makes it easy to add items back in. When we went to meet with Design House for the second time to see the mockup of our decor, we were blown away. The team had managed to perfectly capture the dark, sultry look we wanted for our reception. When the weekend of our wedding arrived, Design House executed everything beyond our expectations. Our sangeet absolutely looked like an Indian night market. My favorite component of the weekend was our ceremony decor- the florals, the colors, the mandap draping, the attention to detail- the room was absolutely stunning. For the evening, we had decided to put most of our time and attention into our head table, I hope to attach photos to this review because I can't even put into words how perfectly the team made this happen. Design House Decor was a pleasure to work with, fairly priced, and made the wedding of our dreams a reality. I highly recommend them for wedding decor, especially for Indian weddings, as they are well versed in the complexities and traditions of these affairs.
