I am pleased with the services I have received so far from SDC. It was nice to see exactly what their charges are. I am looking forward to going into the showroom next week to look at their products.

The work was okay, the cabinets were incorrectly measured, the length of the cabinet to appropriate location to my vent was incorrectly measured, so they made a big stink about it's a standard cabinet, however, they corrected the mistake by relocating the vent to adjust with the new cabinet, the worker that made the adjustment was very rude, he walked out of my house yelling and screaming, when I asked him if he can install the kitchen hood, which was agreed that they would install all the items they appliances they removed for the new cabinet. The granite countertop edge was delivered unfinished edge, so it was scratching the new cabinet door, they did finally replace the door, and had someone to manually polish the corner countertop, but you can still see a variance between the original polished edge that was delivered and the manually polished area. I asked them to address this problem, but they pretty much ignored my emails and sent me a final notice payment and threatening to take legal actions if I didn't pay. Anyway I made the final payments for items I agreed, I will probably have to go through a legal process to correct the bogus electrical work they claim they did which we are in disagreement. Someone had already commented that they are nice until something goes wrong in a previous review, my experience was the same.

Cape & Island Kitchens - Former exam room--gorgeous kitchen now

Needed to add a kitchen and two full baths, as well as closets, move beam and add a laundry area. It came out fantastic. This group--from Tracey Perry's help with design (amazing!) to Mike Heinrich's detailed budget which they stuck to and Bill Schmidt's communication on every detail, it was actually a pleasant experience. I highly recommend this group. In between my two projects with Cape & Islands Kitchens I did another property with a well known, popular Falmouth builder (hint: begins with an "L"). It was a DISASTER. Do not be fooled by the lower initial numbers--you will pay in the end and the quality of work will suffer. I am so glad I was able to do this renovation with Cape & Islands Kitchens!

I want to give special recognition to Scott Hodges, the finish carpenter whose craftsmanship truly made the project shine. Scott's work is impeccable--especially the crown molding, which adds a level of elegance and detail that completely transforms the space. His precision, artistry, and attention to detail are second to none. Every cut, joint, and finish was executed flawlessly. Beyond his technical skill, Scott was a pleasure to work with: professional, respectful, and clearly passionate about his craft. If I could give Scott more than five stars, I absolutely would. His work exceeded all expectations and brought the entire project to life. If you're planning a renovation, do yourself a favor and ask for Scott Hodges. You'll be glad you did. Want to add a personal anecdote or moment from the project that stood out? That can make the review even more memorable. Tim Silva

I am constantly doing something to improve my home and have hired many people from Provincetown to Boston to do work for me. No one quite compares to this man. He is great to work with and his expertise is amazing. Right down to the smallest detail. I am shopper. I shop around and I do my homework. I met with several kitchen designers for this project and I am so glad I decided to go with Plymouth Rock Kitchens. I'll tell you a little secret. I had worked with Edan on another kitchen project in the main house several years ago when he was with another company. He was as amazing then as he is now. He had left that company but I was not sure where he was, so I googled his name when this next kitchen project was born. That is when I found Plymouth Rock. I live in Truro so it's a stretch but so, so worth it. This time we did a small kitchen in my in-law apartment that was rather outdated. Edan turned that drab kitchen in to something that is not only functional but is beautiful and still keeps the theme of the rest of the small apartment. The manufacturers he works with are top notch, yet very affordable and he does his best to give you the most for your money. I could go on forever. He is informative, knowledgeable, and creative. He always is in touch with subcontractors, on the job and making sure that everything if going perfectly. I was working the whole time they were there and I never had to ask them to check on anything. It was done. His attention to detail is exemplary. We have similar taste so it was fun to work with him and it was like he knew what I wanted before I could even tell him. Just remarkable. So the moral to my story is, if you want the best this is the only place to go. If you're on Cape, go over that Bridge straight to beautiful downtown Plymouth and you find Edan in his gorgeous showroom working very hard to make your dreams come true.

At my request, the bathrooms were done one at a time, but it took them about 10 months to finish both. Many days went by without any work and when a sub finally shows up, they usually didn't finish the job or made mistakes. You're paying Barnes to manage the project for you, but they usually don't bother checking the work in detail. A lot of work had to be fixed or redone which added months of delays. You try to call them (Jim, Charlie, Chris), and they just lie about when they'll finish the job or lie about calling me back. Charlie, the owner, kept blaming the lack of progress on me for breaking the job in two and was rude. At the end of the day, the job got done, but it wasn't a positive experience, and I would look at other companies before hiring this one.

The three of us are on the same national, industry-specific business owners roundtable and because of that group I was able to learn a great deal about the company and what makes them tick. Their commitment to creating a happy and healthy work environment is unusual in our industry but speaks volumes about their long-term commitment to the industry and the community their company serves. Hiring them would be a very good idea!

My largest complaint is that Mr. Silva deceived us. We were adamant about wanting factory painted cabinetry. He gave us 3 samples from manufacturer to choose from; white, grey and navy. We chose the navy. When cabinets were installed the paint job was a horror and we found he had used his white stock cabinets and just painted them navy. Cabinets had to be painted several times and still not right. I kept addressing the fact that they were supposed to be factory finished to no avail. Paint is chipping off and it is in a bathroom rarely used! Second major complaint is that Mr Silva was a no-show throughout the process. He promised to be on the job and had the finest subs. He took on jobs on Nantucket and off Cape after signing our contract and bit off more than he could chew. For whatever reasons he lost his excellent subs and had to find inferior replacements at the last minute and he didn't even show up to direct them leaving everything up to his help. A job that was supposed to take weeks ended taking many months. Because Mr Silva was using inexperienced tile setters after an argument with the expert he promised to use, the entire shower enclosure had to be torn out and re-done and the mess I was left with in the basement was horrendous! I have drawers that do not close or do not close properly or doors that do not hang properly, leaky sink and soooo much more. He has promised to come here and make things right and has made appointments to do so. He has never showed up or had the decency to even call. Read less
