I haven't make the cookies yet. The review is based on the elite event experience. I will post another based on the cookies itself. Definitely a 5 stars event. The owners were very nice and informative. I love their story as well. They made a positive thing out of it. The prize wheel was fun and great way to get people on the mailing list. I thought that was smart. They were prepared for the event because we didn't have to wait around very long. Everything was ready for us to pick up and had time to talk to them as well. Packaging was cute as well including a small pumpkin inside the box. That was a nice touch. One comment is that I didn't noticed any fridge or heard to place the cookie jar in the fridge. I'm glad that I read everything because I noticed on the label that it stated "keep refrigerated". They might have told me and there might have been a cooler or fridge but I didn't noticed one or remembered hearing them. Overall. Great event and awesome owners. Can't wait for my kids to help me bake these cookies.

Wow oh wow this event was fantastic, the vegan bakery stall had the most friendly owners you can ever meet! You can tell they loved what they do and have immense passion for it as well! There was a QR code on the table which allowed us to easily access the page to sign in and begin to take pictures! The cloud and confetti cookies were outstanding, I ended up baking them after a long day of work which my roommate joined me in trying them and we were both in for a surprise! Texture wise I wouldn't have noticed a difference between these cookies versus non vegan cookies I've had in the past. They had plenty of flavour and weren't overly sweet! I have many vegan co-workers and friends who I will definitely be sharing this great find with and I will be back to purchase many more cookie doughs from them as well!

Absolutely great experience and nice to visit the farmer's market downtown. The cloud confetti cookies were delicious and definitely can't wait to order more.

The owners were so nice! I am writing this review before trying the cookies but I'm sure they will be delicious. Who doesn't love marshmallows? I love seeing all these Black-owned businesses getting love through the Yelp Elite program. I also got to meet our new fearless leader in this morning, so that added to the experience.

The owners were the stars of the show! I love a good vegan cookie and tend to lean dairy free when out and at home. They generously sampled at the market, and it was good. Came home and baked some (I did make a large cookie because I like larger cookies, I didn't adhere to the tablespoon instructions), I thought they were just ok. Also the ingredients are probably not something I would pick up regularly (dye and soy). Price is VERY high. Owners were so kind, hope the best for them!

There were picnic bench and table and chair seating providing accommodations for large and small groups. The outside seating was pleasant even with the excessive heat. The oscillating misting fans were a great help. Orders are placed at a window and delivered to your table. Patrons all were able to sample one of the many taco variations (I chose grilled beef deluxe, which added beans, guacamole and cheese), along with chips (unique, full flavor and crispy good) and queso (garnished with pepitas and pomegranate seeds). Additionally I sampled a traditional margarita, which I ordered garnished with cinnamon and a slice of lime...so refreshing on a sweltering hot, August afternoon. My taco was exceptional! The combination of fresh and high quality ingredients makes a tremendous difference, separating mediocre tacos from the top prize winner! Barracuda Tacos is a winner for our community. An additional pleasant surprise dessert treats were provided by Kee's Treasured Delights, LLC. of Gonzales, Louisiana. Proprietor, Keemorah Simon (professionally trained baker originally from the U. S. Virgin Islands) provided a large sampling of her decadent hand crafted sweets. The desserts I tried were all top notch, but my favorites were her unique Caribbean coconut cookies and guava cookies, made with passion for her craft and love. Simply yummy! I will surely return to Baracuda Tacos with friends and family. Also, I have shared my decadent dessert of Kee's Treasured Delights experience with friends and coworkers. She caters events and also provided one on one baking experiences. Super Yelp Elite event!

However, with the shades, fans, and misters, things were much better than expected! We had some outdoor games including a Yelp Bingo that was a great meet and greet activity, then we heard from representatives of Barracuda Taco and Kee's Treasured Delights about their businesses and products. Then came the eating part! We had a choice of Tacos, with a side of chips and dip. A drink was also included. Following this main course, we grazed on a selection of desserts from Kee's. These were the perfect ending for our meal. All in all I'd have to declare that this was another enormously successful Yelp Event! Looking forward to more in the future, and seeing our fellow Yelpers in person again.

Yelp Baton Rouge's Meet You At The Top VE with Uptown Climbing was bittersweet since it was CM…read moreRebecca W's last event. It's time for her to move on to a new chapter. Rebecca was joined by Jando S (Yelp Queens), Alex L (Yelp Buffalo), Angela S (Yelp Chicago North Shore), and Nicole G (Yelp Chicago). I've never been rock climbing but was curious to find out what it was about. Lee Guilbeau, co-owner of Uptown Climbing was happy to share his expertise with us. Lee founded Uptown Climbing 3 1/2 years ago with his business partner Rob. The duo built their business from the ground up - turning a parking lot into a 10,000 square foot facility with a 3,000 square foot mezzanine. It is Baton Rouge's first premier climbing gym - featuring custom climbing walls by Rockwerx, which is the leading manufacturer of climbing walls in North America. Rob gave us a tour of the facility and explained the dynamics. They have a 90-foot-long bouldering wall, over 60 rope stations up to 35' tall, a speed wall, a crack climb, 6 auto-belay stations, and a dedicated sport lead climbing wall. There is also a member-only fitness room and an event room for parties. They also offer classes such as Rock Climbing 101, aerial skill classes, yoga, and aerial yoga. And, they host a monthly event called Ladies Night, where new members can meet existing members and enjoy a no pressure workout. On your first visit you are required to take an orientation, which covers the basics including safety instructions. You also have to sign a waiver. Day passes as well as monthly passes are available. You can also purchase rock climbing equipment. Shoes and safety harnesses are available for rent. During the tour we met some of Uptown's employees, including their resident pooches. We all loved seeing the doggies and I'm sure Cooper provides comfort to the attendees, especially for those who may be experiencing first time anxiety. Lee mentioned that sometimes people find out that they have a fear of heights when starting out. He said that the best way to train for rock climbing is to just do it. You should work on your grip strength, which is very important. Strength training, mind/body awareness techniques, focusing on breathing, and working on your balance and core strength are also useful. Gloves are used for crack climbing to protect your hands when sliding them between the cracks in the rocks. Otherwise, it is best to use chalk because it absorbs the moisture and oils on your hands. At the end of Lee's tour Gary demonstrated how to tie the Climber's knot. We also got to meet the membership director, Mitzy. She was very enthusiastic, and you could tell she loved working there. I would be happy to work at any place that had doggies as co-workers. A few raffles were held during our session where locals could win gifts from CounterspaceBR @counterspacebr, Firth Cookies @firthcookies, Mecie's Sweets @mecies_sweets, Chef Schonberg's Sweets @chefschonberg, and @uptownclimbing. One lucky non-local won a goodie box from CounterspaceBR because they also ship nationwide. Afterwards, Rebecca showed us how to make her Carrot Ginger juice and then we all had the opportunity to chat and say "farewell for now" to Ms. Rebecca. She will definitely be missed. They have different levels for people of all skills. I liked that they have such a big area and so many different walls. Even if you are new, they have beginner courses and apparatus to help you climb. They also have ladies night too! Ladies can go there and not feel intimidated about competing against men. It's a good chance for women to build up their skill without the pressure. A bonus for this event was that they gave a ton of prizes out for the participants. If you were local to the area, they gave out some pretty sweet prizes. Unfortunately the other prizes were only for people in continental US, so I didn't qualify. This was also the last event for the Baton Rouge Yelp CM so at the end of the event they had a farewell session. Great event, it had a little bit of everything rolled into one.

My parents are both educators, so I appreciate how the museum is set up so the kids are learning without realizing they are. I enjoyed having the chance to revisit some of my favorite spots in the museum, which are the Star Studio dance area (I'm still not coordinated enough, but it's always fun even when you miss the steps!), and the Geaux Figure it puzzle space. One day I will be able to figure all of the puzzles out without someone helping me! I enjoyed listening to the employees, and it's been obvious over the years that they do take the feedback from the community to heart with the addition of sensory hours, and participating in free first Sunday every so often. I never realized just how much it took in donations to make a truly first class museum such as Knock Knock run. The sampling from Bistro Brasserie was a great bonus. I haven't been to that location since they rebranded, and it was nice to hear how they kept some of the favorite dishes of the community, but make them with a twist to keep things interesting, like the pot roast sliders. I'm excited that Knock Knock is bringing back their adult nights, and cannot wait to see what they have in store for the one in April.
