The new crew has not a clue what they are doing! Their sense of urgency is nil and have ZERO sense of urgency. They have no experience in any category of construction. I pay a lot of money to reside here and get nothing in return. I have 35 years experience in all the trades combined but now I'm disabled and "rely" on their service but I should know better and just continue to repair things on my own. Also the main office in Union NJ has absolutely zero empathy for their tenants, they just want their money and not hear about any problems you may have with the staff that maintains the property. These apartments are listed as low to moderate income...yeah right! $1100 for a one bedroom and all the way up to $1700 for a 3 bedroom! Where's the savings!?!? There's also a lot of vandalism to cars in the parking lots, I've had two of my vehicles vandalized and three of my friends' cars vandalized. After the first reported vandalism the complex should've installed surveillance cameras in every parking lot! I could go on and on but I think you all reading this gets my point.

For the…read morearea, the prices of the apartments are very fair for the living space you get in return. We have a 2nd floor apartment in the very back of the complex by the woods. Yes, we have bugs that get in during the warmer months, however, being so close to trees/woods that's to be expected. The neighbors in our building and surrounding buildings pretty much keep to themselves; you can hear the kids play outside in the summertime when the windows are open - their giggles filling the apartment wit happiness. There are a few reasons for 4/5 stars instead of 5/5 stars: -office hours during the week are not very flexible for people who work full time day jobs. However, they are open on weekends now. -I'd ideally like to have more kitchen counter space. The kitchen is big enough for a small table to eat in; however we utilize the dining room to eat. I quite enjoy cooking and meal preparations can get tricky sometimes - but I guess that's to be expected in an apartment. -The parking lots need some work. Ours especially have had a bunch of pot holes since we moved in last year; however they just sent around a bulletin that they are planning on repairing the potholes this week, so hopefully that shouldn't be an issue much longer. Overall, it's a great place to live for the price you pay and area to live in. Definitely would recommend.

This was done within a week of the request. To my surprise and amazement a few weeks later they placed a railing on the other side and this one actually extends to the lower sidewalk which makes it even easier to get into my apartment. Thank you Maintenance Department!

Hope/Vivian in the office are very nice and also willing to help and get you the answers needed. Choosing a place to live is not easy, but after meeting the staff and seeing how they are so helpfully answer any question we may have it was a very easy decision for my Fiancé and I. The maintenance staff is amazing they get everything done and don't stop until it's 100%. They are always kind and even when you have a emergency they answer right away. The location is perfect there is a lot in the area, town is only a mile away. I feel very safe in this location, and people are very friendly.

Countryside Apartments and its sister rental property Greenview were one of the best communities to…read morelive in. The original owners provided a warm and welcoming approach and always offered fair rental prices. Responsible tenants were rewarded with fair annual rental increases. This built stability in both communities, leading many tenants to live there for 10 years or more. However, it is evident that the new owners and management are cold and matter-of-fact and are engaging in cut-throat business practices. The new management intends to turn quick profits by raising the rent well above NJ's average. During the first 6 months, lease renewal contracts raised tenants' rates between 9% and 11%. However, starting in August 2026, tenants have been presented with a 14% rent increase. In addition, utilities and services like water and sewer and trash removal, which were once included in the base rent, are now being charged as additional monthly fees. With regard to the extreme rent increases, the new management is justifying this by stating this is the market value based on comparables. Ultimately, Countryside Apartments is becoming unaffordable, which will displace long-term tenants and lead to a high tenancy turnover, as well as a transient population. During the first 6 months of ownership, the new management fired a maintenance worker, as well as Paul the superintendent of buildings and grounds. The new management also waited until the eleventh hour to offer Hope, the office manager, a new contract, which led to her resignation. Calling to speak to the property manager is one-sided. There is no room for any negotiation. It is also evident that the new management is overly eager to renovate vacant apartments to charge even higher rental prices but does not offer any apartment improvements to existing tenants. The best thing current tenants and potential renters can do is speak with their wallets: Do not sign a lease renewal with Countryside Apts and do not even consider renting from them. The value that Countryside Apts and Greenview offered is now gone.
