I thought we could go together, since she was nervous and I needed gray root coverage and a good new cut/style anyway. We saw two different stylists and sat next to each other at the salon. My cut: I had asked for long layers and some shape and to please not use a razor edge to feather the layers (I personally don't care for that method or how that looks on me - I much prefer more blunt-cut layers) The junior stylist I had had no clue how to do anything but the feather/razor edge for layers, and basically acted like there was literally no other possible way to achieve a long layered cut. We went back back-and-forth for 10 minutes with her looking utterly confused at what I was suggesting. (I've had other cut methods hundreds of times. I was confused at her confusion.) She told me she's been out of school less than a year. I simply couldn't get through to her, so I gave in and had her basically just give me a boring blunt cut instead. The color she gave me was darker than I asked too, plus I left with dark marks around my face! My stylist was kind - I'm really not trying to say she wasn't, but she wasn't very warm or personable either. She seemed extremely young and checked out. My daughter's cut was the more heartbreaking one for me. She had gorgeous hair down to her bottom and we finally decided to give it a really good cut (tired off nightly tangles). It took the other gal under 10 minutes and it was completely uneven (see pic). I had to take her somewhere else to get it fixed. :( She was kind enough too but not very great with kids. Do not bring a kiddo here (I thought maybe a "real salon" would give her a better cut despite not being targeted to kids. I was wrong.) I'm really bummed because I had a lot of high hopes for this place opening up in Ambler and for finally finding a good stylist for both me and my daughter, but unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place. The value for what I paid is really shocking to me. To pay $250 for one cut/color with a junior stylist and one child's cut and both were this bad is super disappointing.

The receptionist helped me pick Monica as a stylist based on the services I wanted done. She took my number and I was immediately set up for text reminders. The shop is in a small warehouse looking building across from 7-11. There is a lot with plenty of free parking. The shop is small but cute. There is a main salon and some side rooms for extra services like waxing. During my service I was offered a beverage from their coffee/tea bar. I didn't accept or check it out but nice touch. I filled out a client card and Monica introduced herself and took me for a consultation. My appointment was for single color and cut but I as open to add ons. Because Monica is new to my hair she suggested we stick with my current color. She offers a complementary hair glaze which kicks in color and conditions with a glossy finish. Most salons charge $20 and up for this! I love that no one tried to over sell anything and was supper sweet about discussing my hair type, wants, concerns and the products i had at home and how to best use them, I have some specific areas of concern with my thin hair and Monica was mindful and full of great suggestions on styling, over use of products with protein, and only using a comb on wet hair and a brush on dry hair, never the other way. This salon was a step up from one of the value franchisees I usually go too. The shampoo bowls were comfortable for your neck and Summer did an amazing neck and head massage while she shampooed, conditioned, and applied the glaze. So relaxing and really enjoyable. I left the salon on a hot and humid day. My blow out is on day 4 and still looking greatB My hair is shiny, soft and looks amazing! Credit cards accepted but tips are cash. You can give personally or use the provided envelopes. I accidentally left my cell phone charging cube and charger. They immediately called so I could come back to get it. The employees there seem to have nice connections with customers and each other. They were helping with each other's clients when an issue arose and I think that the vibe check there was good. About three days ago I decided I wanted to cut my hair after not getting it cut in over a year. My first choice was Salon La Vogue after I saw their other reviews and checked out some of their pictures here on yelp. I called in to see if I could get an appointment for as soon as possible. Right away from my conversation on the phone I knew I had found the right place. I expressed my concerns about my hair and what sort of hair I had which was met with understanding and reassuring answers, so I booked an appointment! Today when I walked in I was greeted by, literally, everyone working there. For someone who is always nervous about getting my haircut this was amazing! Gabby was my stylist who listened to what I wanted and even went as far as to talking me through how to style my hair after I leave the salon. Needless to say I could say so many glowing things but I'll keep it to this; this salon is a hidden gem that is worth a worlds worth of praise.
