I paid over £2,000 for the website and, at the time, I was very pleased with the finished result. What I hadn't appreciated was that the website relied on licences and software that I would need to continue paying for indefinitely in order for the website to keep functioning. I continued paying these costs for several years, and I also paid to have a membership area added to the website. Over the last couple of years, I have continued to pay Boonwag around £500 per year for updates and maintenance to ensure that the website and its licences continued to work. This was in addition to the hosting costs, as I was already paying SiteGround separately for my website hosting. Unfortunately, my experience with the company has now become extremely disappointing. My website is currently not functioning properly, and I have been trying to get hold of Paul at Boonwag for several weeks to resolve the issue. On one occasion, Paul told me that he "triages" his customers in order of importance and that sometimes he doesn't get back to people if he has a more important job to deal with. I found this extremely disappointing, particularly given that I am a paying customer and my website is an important source of income for my business. At the moment, my website remains broken and I have been unable to get the support I need to resolve the problem. I am very disappointed that after having a positive experience with Boonwag initially, things have reached this point. I feel that customers should be made fully aware of the ongoing costs associated with the licences used to build their websites, and I would strongly recommend anyone considering using this company to carefully establish exactly what ongoing costs, maintenance and support they will be responsible for before committing. I hope Boonwag will eventually resolve the problems with my website, but based on my experience over the last couple of years, I would urge prospective customers to do their research carefully and make sure they are comfortable with the level of ongoing support they can expect.
