The Range is situated on Chapel Street just off the dual carriageway, it isn't very accessible…read morewithout a car but worth a trip. For a large store it only has a very limited sized car parking area but there are disabled bays just outside the main doors. The Range stocks a wide assortment of goods from foodstuffs to pet supplies to garden supplies, craft materials, furniture, pictures and lighting, and diy and kitchen goods. You can spend a long time browsing in the range in all the different departments. The craft department has lots of supplies for cardmakers, painters, and lots of other hobbies. The pet department stocks foods, cages, litter, treats and even books on how to care for your pet. There is also a wide selection of pictures, mirrors and frames and prints to frame yourself, and an extensive fancy goods and gift area with lots of china, pottery , candles and other ornamental bits and piieces. The middle of the downstairs is usually taken up with seasonal ranges whether it is xmas supplies or garden furniture and gazebos, Upstairs there is a lighting department, soft furnishings, furniture and a cafe which serves lovely ground coffee.

If other vendors across the nation where like this then the UK would have a worldwide reputation for food. If I want to eat out for dinner, then I come here. And then there is the cake selection... you just need to look at it! Being in a garden centre means there is plenty of parking. A+ very well done ;)

As you drive into the seemingly small…read morecar park area it looks tiny but just around the corner opens out into a huge car parking space. A path leads you down into the garden centre proper pst displays of gazebos and summerhouses and a beautiful slate based water feature. Pimbo has literally everything you could want for your garden from hundreds of stles of decorative pots right to an ornamental bay tree shaped as an aeroplane.Round every corner is something new, water features, bedding plants, perennials, annuals, herbaceous plants, trees, fruit bushes, herbs, vegetable plants, ornamental grasses, hanging baskets, planters, stone gargoyles, sculptures - it is never ending. There are several huge greenhouses with all the tray plants in them and many more plants on trestles around the grounds. All the plants look well tended and it is usual to find a couple of staff members out watering and dead heading. There is also a range of garden furniture and aggregates of all kinds in large bags.after looking round all the outdoor space you end up in the shop area to pay for your stuff and find lots of other stuff - seeds, trellis, books, ornamental stuff and all manner of gardening bits and pieces. Pimbo also do a delivery service which is very reasonable cost wise and saves you trying to cart home large or heavy items. A great place and well looked after, friendly knowledgeable staff and even a coffee machine.

The only word I can use for Wyvale Garden Centre (formerly Barton Grange) is "epic"... it's a…read morehumongous space full of everything you could need for your garden, from plants and shrubs, to trees, fountains, statues, tools, and equipment etc. It also has a cafe/restaurant, and a large shopping area of books, toys, games, gifts, food items, and a branch of Edinburgh Woolen Mill, as well as an aquarium. It's a nice place just to have a wander around to be honest, there's far too much and too many things for me to list. It also has good parking, and good disabled access, as well as friendly and helpful staff.

My missus gets very excited every time she goes in. We even honoured this place last year when we purchased our Christmas tree from here. Praise indeed. I've not tried their cafe, but friends who have say it's extremely good food, but very expensive. That covers the rest of the place really - you will get what you want here, it will be very good quality and it will be top money.

But saying that - this isn't B&Q or just some rubbish shop just selling plants and trees - it has everything you could want in life and was the perfect place to spend a wet and windy Friday off work with our 2 little kids. Here's the ace points: * A fantastic food hall serving food from local suppliers and so much tasty stuff - in house butchers, bakers etc * Huge Reserve Wines area with great selection of vino on offer * Possibly one of the best craft beer selections to take away - at least 30 different breweries from local to further afield. * 3 great cafes and one specialising in tapas and champagne - PIMP living! *loads of kiddy activities and sand pit etc, great kids toys shop * loads of plants and outdoorsy stuff it that floats your boat... * Good quality coffee - proper sized flat whites... So there you have it - my new favourite place to hang out. You can keep your pretentious hipster joints - I'm hanging out here in future!
