I have been seeing Dr. Klingenstein for ingrown toenails on both feet and hammertoes on one foot…read more Both conditions were extremely painful, with severe swelling. It was so painful that I was scared to go to doctor for a year because I couldn't bear the thought of injections in a toe that was raging in pain. The only shoes I could wear were sandals, which was difficult in the winter when the snow starts piling up! I finally could barely walk because of of the pain so made the appointment. Dr. Klingenstein was very caring and addressed my concerns in detail and that the technique she used to remove ingrown toenails would be very minimally painful. I was very relieved to find that everything she told me was correct, and I felt no pain at all from the injection or the surgical removal of the ingrown nail. I am now dealing with the hammertoe, which is very painful and inflamed. She again discussed in detail my options which included a steroid injection into the joint. Again, her technique in giving the injection resulted in no pain. The result has been significant--by that evening the swelling was almost gone and the pain was reduced to almost nothing. My condition may require surgery, and I will not hesitate to allow Dr. Klingenstein to perform it when the time comes.

I struggled with issues with both feet - bunion on one foot, and plantar fasciitis in both feet…read more Dr. Klingenstein took excellent care of me. I had to have surgery for the bunion and also had an endoscopic plantar fasciotomy on one foot. She did both surgeries, and the results were excellent for me. I am now pain free in both feet and am able to do all the activities I used to do. I highly recommend Dr. Kingenstein and her team, they treated me very well. The office folks were very friendly, helpful and efficient.

Behind each patient there is a story that represents the reason for a surgical intervention. My…read morestory started about 30 years ago, when I noticed small bony deformities on both my feet. As years went by, the deformities got bigger to the point that it was difficult to find comfortable shoes. These deformities caused pain that became more severe over the years; the pain made my walking very difficult and kept me awake during the night. I was diagnosed with bilateral bunions and surgery was the only option. In my country bunion surgery doesn't have a high rate of success, so I gave up the hope that I will ever have normal feet, wear normal shoes and be free of pain. My sister brought my case to Dr. Heilala's attention. When he heard my story, he was so kind that he offered to come to my country and operate on my feet. After he saw my X-Rays and the lack of modern surgical instruments and equipment he told my sister that it will be dangerous to do the surgery without proper instruments but offered to see me in Anchorage. I flew thousands of miles to see Dr. Heilala. He was so welcoming and talked to me so kindly! He gave me several treatment options, explained risks and benefits and helped me to choose the best treatment plan. The surgery was without any complications. I saw my "new feet" at the first post op appointment, five days after the surgery. I had tears of joy and happiness when I saw that my feet have no deformities and looked exactly as they were when I was young! Dear Dr. Heilala, You brought light into my life! You brought back my self-esteem! I am no longer embarrassed with the way my feet look. You brought back the joy of practicing my profession with the same elegance and joy as I did in my younger years. As a lawyer I defend people's lives and their destinies. Attire is part of my profession and my feet are part of my attire! You gave me the joy of wearing professional attire! You gave me the joy of walking barefoot on beaches, on green grass or dry leaves with out to be ashamed to show my feet! You gave me the joy of dancing again! You gave me the joy of being a woman again enjoying beauty and elegance. You gave me the joy of living a wonderful new life! You are a true professional! You are very knowledgeable, skilled, kind, thoughtful, courteous and an expert in your profession. For all of these I would like to thank you "WONDER" DOCTOR HEILALA! I am very grateful and happy that I had the chance to have the surgery done by you! With highest respect and consideration, Angela Simona Bosovici

I don't think I've ever liked a OBGYN office this much until I visited Denali OBGYN. After…read moreextensive research I decided to go with Angelia Trujillo who is a WHNP. It was a good match for me! When I called the office, they offered to schedule my appointment with a male provider and I told them I was not 100% comfortable- no questions were asked, they were able to book my appointment with Angelia. The wait was a bit long but worth it. Their office is really clean and their exam room is so cozy! I'd like to point that the span of my visits started before the spread of COVID-19 and during the spread, their office has always been clean and it amped up with more access to sanitizers. At first I always thought that my dental office has the best view of mountains- well they now have a competition! Denali OBGYN is on third floor which gives you an unobstructed view of popular peaks: Flattop, Big/Little O'Malley, Wolverine Peak, and infamous powerline trail! So beautiful. Angelia is very knowledgeable and I felt like I could ask her really specific questions. Our communication isn't perfect but she always made sure to accommodate. The examination was always through and I felt very secure, central of my medical needs. Most of their nursing staff are friendly and professional. But the real MVP? Their in-house phlebotomist! She was so sweet even though she totally jabbed me. She has her own office which provides for more privacy and it comes with the best view. I've attached a picture of that! Also, I had to get a procedure but they were able to accommodate me with an interest-free payment plan. I recommend Denali Ob/Gyn!

I have mixed feelings. First pregnancy and I decided to come here. The first doctor I saw was…read moreOmaira Colon. She doesn't do hospital births any more so I only saw her once and then they switched me. Her attitude was "I've done this a million times" and she went over everything quickly and in little detail. I get that it's YOUR millionth time but it's my first. They switched me to Maude Vance after that. She has little personal skills if any. She walks into your room already talking about baby names and whatnot without even a "Hi." She says all the information so fast and direct it just goes right over me and I can't remember anything when the appointment is over. She seems very knowledgeable but I get the vibe of I'm here to get paid and get out. She asked the same two questions every time and if you don't have one question she offers up no advice and she's on her way out the door. Cool, again it's my first time I don't know what I don't know! She suggested I get the RSV vaccine but I wasnt the correct month range at the rsvp season time. She said no need for a birth plan. Whenever she measures me I'm either too big or too small and then she schedules another ultrasound. Not saying how big or small I am and why it's necessary. Actually delivery time, did multiple interventions which I didn't want and she literally said "it's my job to cut the cord" when somebody asked if anyone wanted to do it. The reason why they are getting three stars is the scheduling. They give you one time to come in and you either say yes or no. The main front desk lady is kind of mean, the one with the flashy loud keyboard. I saw numerous new ladies who were always in training at the front desk across my 9 month visit. For people who don't have a job, it's fine come in whenever. I have to take time off of work to come in. They do open from 8-5 so I'm able to come at 8, but only days where Vance comes in early, otherwise she starts her day at 9am. Another inconvenience. I always have to fight with them, no I'm not going to come twice in one day because you can't get me an ultrasound and see the doctor back to back. Then the doctor thinks I need an ultrasound every other week and that tacks on a while another hour and scheduling mess to figure out. The NP and ultra sound techs have all been very nice and efficient. I usually don't have to wait too long in the lobby or in the exam room. Also they draw blood and do testing here too which is very convienent. I did have to go to a third party to get genetic testing done. Their check in process is a little bit long and tedious online. I've only had to pay my $90 co pay for when I have an ultrasound visit scheduled. Otherwise just a regular doctor checkup it doesn't ask me to pay the copay on the check in process. When I had my very first visit, they had us see the financial lady after we were done with the appointment. Since I had goven All the insurance info when I scheduled before she had all the estimated costs written out for vaginal and c section birth, as well as the ultrasounds. She then charged us $500 for the first ultrasound and said the next one that we would have would be around $700. A little while later as I was looking at my insurance online it said that my insurance had payed Denali OBGYN for the amount of the ultrasounds and that I needed to ask for a refund. They claimed that they charge everyone for the first one even though they already ran my insurance. So they provided me with a copy of my statements so far and that I have a $500 credit on my account. They said at the end they will refund me if I still have a balance with them. I haven't had to pay anything since then except my $90 copay. I had to ask them about this process and where that money went, they didn't provide any of that info voluntarily, like "hey just so you know you have a credit on your account since your insurance paid us as well as you payed." It might just be how they have to do things or how the insurance side works but it was kind of annoying. I would see Kilby if I had to come here again. I saw him twice while mine was on vacation and he was awesome. That's all I can think of for now but I wasn't thrilled with this place. Good luck if you are on a search.
