My experience with Integrative MCAT Tutoring (IMT), owned by Cara Manlandro dr.cm@procge.org, was…read moreless than satisfactory, and I feel compelled to share my observations for the benefit of potential users. Despite initial positive reviews on platforms such as YouTube and Wyzant, my encounter with the course revealed significant shortcomings. Upon initiating contact with Integrative MCAT, the primary challenge was inconsistent communication. Following an upfront payment of $600--comprising $250 for the initial month and a $350 deposit for AAMC FL review sessions--expectations were set for a well-organized and effective learning experience. Supposed to kick off the orientation on a Monday, but nothing. No emails, no Slack invite, no calendar. Big yikes. Cohort for March test takers started on Nov 11, or so they said. A week goes by, radio silence from Cara. Emailed her, finally got a response with links to Google Drive, calendar, and Slack. Now, let's talk about the course. It's like a digital jungle in that Google Drive, outdated materials from ancient cohorts. Classes? Cancelled left and right with no set schedule. Evening hours from 7 pm to 11 pm, and if you miss a class, tough luck--no recordings to catch up because for some reason they have zoom issues & they cant download them. In addition to the challenges I've mentioned, it's important to note that the course schedule at Integrative MCAT Tutoring is contingent on the availability of other tutors, including medical students and, in some cases, i believe one physician. Unfortunately, if these tutors are called into work or have particularly busy days, classes may be subject to cancellation. This unpredictability can make it challenging for students to plan their study routine effectively. Furthermore, there is a noticeable emphasis on assigning homework or "catch-up days," which, in my experience, seemed to be an attempt to compensate for the irregularity of the schedule. This practice may be frustrating for students seeking a more structured and reliable learning experience, as it adds an additional layer of unpredictability to an already inconsistent course structure. Eustacia, the assistant? Rude, mean, and straight-up condescending vibes. No Slack chats allowed among students--probably 'cause they're all fake accounts. After two weeks of Cara having all sorts of "emergencies" getting hit by a car, having connection issues, her kid's concussion, getting COVID 5x in a week and more drama than a reality show, I made the difficult decision to discontinue my enrollment since at this point I learned nothing other than her personal problems. Subsequently, I sought a refund from Cara, since no classes took places and orientation never happened for my March 2023 cohort. She initially agreed but failed to process it. This lack of financial redress forced me to resort to disputing the $600 charge with my bank, significantly impacting my ability to secure alternative tutoring or educational resources during a crucial period of preparation because it took almost a month to get my money back since Cara refused to process the refund when she said she would. In conclusion, my intent in sharing this experience is to caution prospective students about the pitfalls and inadequacies of Integrative MCAT Tutoring. It is my hope that this information serves as a valuable consideration for individuals seeking reliable and effective MCAT preparation resources. Also note that within the class there is an extra fee you pay if you need private tutoring or group tutoring. is $50/hr or $25 if u do a group, add this to your $250 monthly intital fee AND the $350 to review the aamc FLS
