Dr Elias is very rude, condescending, and arrogant. He basically talks down to you and treats you as if you're ignorant. He basically rushes me every time I have an appointment. He does not listen to you. Instead, he is distracted and half the time forgets what the appointment was in the first place. He contributes every single medical issue to the way people eat. I have never felt more unheard and uncared for by a medical professional. Absolutely no bedside manner. He is honestly a disgusting human being with an MD license he should not even have. read more

I've been seeing dr Elias for 9 years now and I can't be happier. He seems to care about my well being and has motivated to make changes in my life. From my experience, he doesn't just want to treat the symptoms but really want to treat the causes. I've been to doctors in the past that just throw meds at you and push you out the door, but Dr Elias really sits down with me and discusses what's going on in order to make sure I understand. If you are looking for a doctor that is going to give you pain killers and tell you to walk it off, Dr Elias is not for you. He is going to dig down and find the root of the issue. This is the worst doctor I have ever known. He's rude, arrogant & a complete idiot. He doesn't listen to his patients or even remember what he is treating you for. He prescribed me the wrong dosage of medication & them scolded me because my numbers were worse. I reminded him that I took the wrong dosage of medicine for 2 months before I realized he had prescribed 1000mg less than I have been taking for years. I had to call his office & have it corrected. He made no apologies for his rant or error in writing the prescription. He just moved on to his next rant. How can a doctor know how to treat you if he doesn't listen? I asked him about my bloodwork & he was bothered that I had questions about the numbers and didn't answer any of them. He stares at his computer & sends prescriptions without an explanation of why they are being changed. Without explanation how do I know what he's trying to fix? How can I trust he's prescribing the correct medications when he can't even get the dosage correct? He has absolutely no bedside manners. You are just a number to this doctor & he could care less about you as a person. If you are thinking about seeing this doctor , run, run away fast. BEWARE OF DR. ELIAS! read more

TERRIBLE DOCTOR !!!!! Went to see this doctor with severe back and leg pain. He did some blood tests and told me I had RA. He then "push" me off on a Rheumatologist. I went back to him 2 months later with the same symptoms and he told me he "did not know what was wrong with me, I cannot find anything else wrong". Maybe he should have done a back xray to see? Seven months later I had back surgery for a ruptured disk in my back. This doctor does NOT know what he is doing !!! I would NEVER recommend this doctor to anyone !!! read more

I have been Dr. Elias patient for a few years. I moved over to his practice because he took the time to get to know you. He has changed the way he treats patients. You are just a number know. You are waiting time is ridiculous. One he get in he looks at your labs gives you a lecture and makes you feel like shit and prescribes you medicines. Know if your insurance doesn't pay for the prescription he gave you but the insurance company will pay for it if the doctor provides information why you need it. He refuses to work with the insurance company and you are shit out of luck. For me it's time for a change. read more

I accompanied by husband on a physician visit this past week and I was appalled at the degree of arrogance and disregard for patients that was displayed to my spouse by Dr. Elias. Dr. Elias lacks compassion. I have a masters degree in nursing and have been a nurse for 20 years with the last 15 in hospital administration. I have witnessed arrogance and insensitivity by physicians in my career but never to this degree. When my husband decided to walk out of the exam room due to the nasty comments made by Dr. Elias, the physician looked at me and told me I should get a psychiatrist for my husband. Hmmm. Why should I schedule an appointment with a psychiatrist? Maybe because Dr. Elias doesn't like having someone walk out on him.......If physicians in my hospital behave in this manner, they lose their privileges. I will be filing a formal complaint with my insurance provider. It is such a shame that anyone would treat a veteran in this manner. Very disappointing. read more

I am disappointed. It is a mystery to me that this establishment is still in business. I rather go back to the VA instead of dealing with a person that won't even listen to a customer because after being a patient we are all customers. Having said that, even though insurance is a patient's responsibility when a customer/patient attempt to communicate the intention of only doing what's covered, the minimum the establishment can do is communicate that it is required a totally different visit to know the results of blood test. Perhaps a call or include the results to the first visit would be reasonable. We all know our medical system is broken and greed rules the industry but at least listen and not be rude. I will assume people that goes there either like to be a number, have no financial worries or have not experience their rudeness. I will appeal the claim and stand by firmly with this review. This post could have been avoided by just listening to a customer with a concern. The billing department is so great (clueless) that I received a letter 3 months later with the original balance stating that if I do not pay our relationship will be terminated (it has been since the second visit) and the account will be given to a collection agency when I have made payments every months. I guess instead of paying them what I can, I will pay with a credit card. read more

Excellent and very caring Doctor. Has a very professionally run office and I'm usually seen right on time. Listens to the patient and is responsive to requests. He is friendly, but doesn't waste time on chit-chat to keep his appointments on time, but focuses on your needs and problems. I highly recommend him. He also is in partnership with his wife, Dr. Theresa Oakley, who is also excellent. read more

If zero was an option, I'd select it. My family (myself, husband, my mom, dad, and sister) have been seeing dr Elias for 11+yrs. My husband enlisted in the army last year and we were stationed at Ft Drum NY. We have been here for 2 months. I ran out of my antidepressant/anxiety medication 3 days ago, but had an appointment scheduled for tomorrow for a physician here in NY. My husband had an accident and hurt his knee and they got him in for an appt tomorrow. Stupidly, I rescheduled my appt, bc a knee accident in the Army is a big deal. I should have found another damn way to get there The soonest they can reschedule is the end of the month, which I scheduled. I called Dr Elias to see if he would refill my prescription for 27 days until I can get into the dr here. And he refused. I have been a patient here for over 11 yrs! He is the dr that has prescribed me this medicine for the last 11yrs! (On/off through pregnancy's). The office staff was nasty and ended up telling me to try urgent care here in NY and hung up on me. I am desperate for my meds. I suffer from anxiety and depression. My 3yr old son has recently been diagnosed with severe regressive autism and I depend on my meds to get me through the day. I offered confirmation of my rescheduled appt, my husbands appt, and my sons diagnosis. They would not even listen to me. I am heartbroken to say the least. And not in the best state of mind being off my meds for 3 days. We are talking Paxil. Not pain meds or anything crazy. An antidepressant/anxiety medication that takes weeks of being in your system to have any effect. I would never recommend this dr to anyone. I hope Dr Elias sees this. I hope everyone who considers Dr Elias sees this and decides this is not the dr for them. I am at a loss for words. They have lost an entire family. A family who has been seeing Dr Elias and DrOakley for over 11years. What a shame. read more
