The front staff is extremely helpful maintaining the covid protocol and still bring stuff to mom. Rooms are Big and comfortable. My mom loves it so much that she prefer here than stay home by herself. The nutrition department is above and beyond helping with mom diet and nutrition to gain some pounds as she lost it due to her heart condition, Walter and chef prepares foid that she likes, which made her gain 5 lbs. The care committee is so well coordinated they helped so much to connect all the dots to better care for mom. The nurses and contact care team is the true life line for mom, they keep an eye for mom every moment she is there. The PT and OT did fantastic job that she walk 200 feet with some Assistance. The nurse practitioner is so wonderful and detailed oriented, helpful in answering any health related questions I can go on and on Over all I loved this place highly recommend it as they variety in care they provide with such a compassion in their hearts I am planning to enroll my dad on their cognitive center as he has dementia.

Almost all those who cared for her when I was present did so in a very professional manner upon my observation. Overall I feel it is an excellent facility though I do have a few questions. I noticed that there are not any cameras there. One morning when I arrived earlier than usual and there was a situation I found alarming in my mother's room so I approached the only staff I saw present at the time to alert her. The staff member did not seem happy that I pointed what I saw out and was belligerent. I wanted to report this yet when I tried I was told that the staff member said I invaded her personal space which I didn't and that there were witnesses. Actually though I never invaded her space and since her and I were the only ones in the room I don't see how there could have been witnesses. Saying this though highlights the fact that if there were cameras it would allow those in charge to see what really happened. Safety inside and outside of facilities like this is important for many reasons.

We liked the fact that the place was clean, it didn't smell of urine at all, his room was clean ,the cleaning crew came daily to pick up the garbage ,change the sheets and cleaned his room several times a week as well as his bathroom. We also liked the fact that he was picked up 5 days a week to the exercise room to work on his major problems. They also gave him a bath twice a week. The entire staff was very nice and helpful, both medical and office. I don't know what's going on the other floors or the long term care situations? I can only emphasis on our experience. Yes, the food could be a little better and the response when one press the call button could improve!

My mother is at Lee Manor now receiving care. My family's experience has been a mix of good but…read moremostly bad. The first month my mother was at Lee Manor, she was on the 1st floor. This floor is clean and welcoming it is staff appropriate number of residents to staff for the most part. She was later moved to the 4th floor due to her medical coverage would no longer cover 1st floor care. My mom was sent to Medicaid floor. Our family understood as we didn't have the money to cover the co-pay $$$$for 1st floor. The 4th floor is dirty, and smells of urine and poop once you step out of the elevator. Residents are left in dinning hall for hours at a time. Some are slouched over in tables asleep or falling out of chairs. When my mom presses the call button it can take up to 2 and a half hours for a response from staff. Staff can be rude and incentive. We have to be present to get my mom the attention she needs and physical go get a CNA or nurse to assist with care after an hour of having pressed call button. I do not recommend this facility for your loved one's unless.... They are getting care or residency on the 1st floor.

They offer free valet service during the preferred visiting hours, ice cream and popcorn for patients and guests as well as two activity/visiting rooms which are very inviting. What really impressed me is that the staff always pitches in wherever is needed, no one acted as if, "that's not my job". The PT and OT staff was all that; Nisha, Karolyn, Tom aka "Supervisor", Yajaoli, Edward, Rhonda, Tess, and so many more. One could not as for better treatment, honestly!! The downfalls were the EXTREMELY uncomfortable beds and the TERRIBLE food! The food was the worst in any institution I've ever had, even in schools. It baffled me. But, it worked in my favor, I ate less, and too, some of my peeps brought me some food every so often. Shout out to the management TEAM at Alden Estates, Skokie. I am a current resident who's been at Bella Terra Wheeling for a little more than thirteen months. I have seen Mike, Kandi, Nikki, Yesenia, Jocelyn, Fran, and Michelle work very hard to keep this facility running. Many of the nurses and CNAs provide good support to care for the patients at this nursing/rehabilitation home. I have seen the staff as a team handle multiple situations to provide care and comfort for the patients. I also want to say that I am impressed with the Activity and Receptionist team members as they provide more layers of assistance and cohesiveness to help form a strong employee base. One of the benefits of living and recuperating at this facility is that the meals are decent. I lived at another home before transferring here and the food is actually much better. I get meals with chicken as the main course far more than I used to at the previous rehab center. And I get fresh salads more often as well. Bella Terra Wheeling also has staff members in place to help with setting up doctor appointments and transportation. For an independent person like myself, I don't utilize all of the services available but I am very glad that many residents do have access to these benefits. I want to close out my review with a huge thank you to each and every staff member for being patient and understanding with me and many of the residents as caring for us can be quite challenging at times. I had no clue how to take care of my mom as she was uncontrollable and hard to reason with. I want to say Thank you to Angelina, my lovely angel nurse Daisy, nurse Raj and many more nurses and CNAs that took care of my mom. Daisy you of all people I owe a huge apology to by not cooperating with you especially. You guys saw my mom slipping away to cancer and dementia and I tried to fight for her life and I was wrong. Hospice gave her freedom and relief from her pain and I tried to hold on and gave grief to you and Angelina. You guys were angels to put up with me. God bless you both as you truly are beautiful people inside and out. Daisy I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking such good care onf my mom. Bella Terra not only cares for their patients , their nurses go above and beyond for caring for people with dementia and help bring their life to reality. Every visit I saw big involvement with patients from care, food service, entertaintment, physical therapy. These patients would not have a life at home the way they get cared for at Bella Terra. The care you will receive will be exceptional and the nurses they have here deserve pay of a celebrity with the care they provide for patients with severe mental and physical disabilities.
