Yesterday I had a massage by Andrew. He didn't listen to anything I said. He skipped the part of the massage that I actually needed. The table has to go up and down multiple times.The sheet was pulled down for too long and it was chilly. Don't do it. This is not an honest business. When you try to cancel, they keep charging your credit card stating some sort of 30 day notice policy. DO NOT JOIN ELEMENTS MASSAGE IN RIDGEFIELD. Do NOT sign up here, the membership sucks. You cannot cancel at any time. They require 30 days advance. Plus they charge for cancellations if less than 24 hours notice is given. You cannot even call in the morning to cancel an evening appointment and not be charged. It's worse than getting out of an apartment lease or gym membership. They are ridiculous, not nice, no text message reminders. And they do not explain all this when you sign up. They really need to learn the business model of other salons (like perhaps European Wax) who send text message reminders of your appointments, give updates on how many sessions you have, flexible scheduling and allows you to change the day of appointment if needed. Not honest business practice. Looking into putting in a complaint via BBB as well. It was shocking because it was a pleasant experience at sign up a year ago. We had to work at another location for 10 months, so we decided to cancel and use up the last massage. We were told not to cancel it and they will suspend it until we return and can call them up anytime for the last session. Well, we call today and they said no .. it is expired and they will not honor the last session. If we would of stick to our plan at the beginning we would of been able to use our membership fully. But they scam you not to do so and later tell you sorry you lose your session. No notice, email or letter to inform you that your status will be expired. Not a honest way to conduct business and will not recommended anyone to use their service. read more

Got a monthly membership and decided on 90 minute massages. They didn't bother telling me I'd be charged $114 on top of the $79 membership I was paying! $114 for an extra 30 minutes?! When I spoke to the manager about this she told me I should've known I would get charged more and should've asked questions! Why doesn't your staff inform people?! Beware!!!! read more

Update: after the below encounter the studio owner waived the fee and I can't wait to get back to using my membership. They couldn't have been nicer! When my monthly appointment didn't show in my online account and when I called to reschedule they couldn't find one in the system. I am now being charged a $69 "no show" despite the fact this is their issue! I will need to consider canceling my membership. So disappointed because I love the studio and every massage has been awesome. read more

They charged me when I was supposed to be receiving a free session (due to their therapist leaving the studio just before an appointment I had 2 weeks prior. Massage is an experience beyond the massage therapy itself. Chanty, my massage therapist, is AMTA-trained, which is good, and she was accommodating in catering to my requests save for the pressure, which was a bit on the light side. I'd give the massage itself a 4/5. I gave 2 stars and won't go back because the business is poorly run: Every interaction with staff was focused on selling. I went for a massage, not a constant sales pitch. Worse, I went because I got a coupon for $40 off and instead of taking the $40 from the advertised price of $79, they took the $40 off the "regular" price of $119. With the $20 tip I left for Chanty, it cost me $99 for a 50-minute "hour" massage. I left scammed. read more

Well, disappointment comes in many ways... I have been a client here for nearly 3 years... auto payment client... my husband passed away a few months ago so by the time I realized 3 months had passed. I called to cancel my subscription in September and was told that even though they changed September they would refund September and not charge again. I could use the other months in the future.. I did not ask for a refund for the month's that had passed... just the new charge... they said they emailed a form but was found in junk when I called again cause they charged again ...So I quickly filled out and emailed back...the manager calls me and said "she would credit October's charge but not September....she was rude and expressed her power of not wanting to be kind...how sad...you had an opportunity to help but choose resistants ...I now have 5 hours from passed charges...my credit card company will charge back the fee...it's not the point...I am sure I would of remained a client...but now I realize how stupid and sad and counter productive to put someone in charge that is bad for business...a word to be wise...I already feel sad and people like this make it worse... read more

Horrible experience. I feel badly for the masseuse, since she was actually good at what she does. Time was cut short and I paid for 90 min. I was early to the appt and yet I was brought in late and received an hour and 15 min massage. I brought it up kindly and the young girl at the front desk had an overall nasty attitude. No resolution was offered, just a rudely toned "sorry." She then had the nerve to ask if I wanted to become a member. HA!!!! In addition, instead of accepting responsibility for her own mistakes, blamed everyone, from a coworker to myself, for not having the correct CC on file. She had ample time to check the CC on file to make sure it wasn't expired. She didn't bother to do so, but then called me after I left for a new CC # with more excuses. So poorly run I'm not sure how they stay in business treating clients this way. Never again. We will take our money elsewhere. read more

Love my therapist as well as the flexibility in scheduling that's offered overall... BUT tho membership prices are reasonable, billing is a huge headache if you wind up skipping months or veer from the standard 60 min prepaid sessions. Be sure to keep track Very closely of your appointments and costs to ensure they match up so that any credits/gift certificates are applied correctly!! Their statements may as well be medical bills, not straightforward. Straightening it out took many conversations and emails to find out they did owe me credit. Also, be aware that even as a long term member, who never missed an appt., you will NOT be granted a first time pass on late cancel fees (even if its due to covid! Being honest pays, literally!). I get it's policy but as a 5yr client in good standing, some understanding in return would've been appreciated. Based on other reviews plus my own billing headaches, I'll expect to have to monitor canceling membership very closely. Net net, love the actual therapists, but unfortunately the business side is a big negative. CAVEAT EMPTOR. read more

So here's the story. I treated myself to a birthday massage a few months ago. My massage was great, and I loved the masseuse. She was fantastic. BUT after my massage, the women at the front desk not only reversed the relaxation from the massage, but made me so tense that I ended up crying in my car on the way home. I had been there one other time (over a year before) with a gift card, so because this was my first time paying, I called to ask if I could get a first-time discount when I come in. The representative said yes to that, and then when the time came to pay for my massage they refused to give me the $30 discount. I explained that it had already been approved by someone, and the two women there were so condescending and demeaning to me, essentially saying that nobody would've said yes to me. After some back and forth they finally looked up the person I spoke with sand said she didn't work there anymore, I guess to void her word. (To clarify, there were two women at the desk. One was clearly a new hire, and and the other- I believe named Julie- was more seasoned. Julie ended up heading the rest of the interaction.) They said the best they could do was have me buy myself a giftcard to pay for the massage, which would save me $20. I agreed in the end, and when they swiped my credit card it was denied. This has never happened to me once in my life, and I immediately knew it was a problem with their card reader. They just blankly stared at me as if I personally broke their machine. So I asked them to try again, and they didn't want to, but I insisted. Denied again. I tried another card, and it was denied too. It was clearly their card reader. I then asked them to switch to the other computer and try there, and, I kid you not, they said that "the same thing would happen." I said I would call my bank to verify that that cards were working and while I was in the process of calling they finally agreed to try the second card reader. Well, it accepted my card immediately. I was appalled that I had to ask them to try the other card reader. Who wouldn't immediately try that? I was visibly upset by the end of the interaction, and the main woman helping me (Julie, if I have her name right) looked at me as if I was a vermin. I asked if a manager could call me in the coming days, and she said that a manager wouldn't be tell me anything different, but again I insisted. To my surprise, I did receive a call from the manager in the coming days. I was at work and couldn't step out, so I had to give a shortened version of the events. The manager was nice enough, and said that in this type of situation, they should've put the charge on hold and consulted with her first. She ultimately refunded me the extra $10, but in truth the whole ordeal made me so upset that any effects of the massage were gone before I walked out the door. What I tried to reiterate overall is that not everybody who books a massage is affluent. At the time I was working a minimum wage labor job, and constantly had back pain. I saved up to treat myself for my birthday, and now consider that money and time wasted. Although I loved my massage experience, I don't think I'll ever go back to elements in Ridgefeild, because I was so poorly treated by the desk staff. I work in customer service myself, and I can say from the heart that even if challenges come up where I think the customer has it wrong, I would NEVER treat them so unkindly. Sadly, I spent my drive home crying, because massages open up my emotions and I was basically bullied by Julie immediately thereafter. (This sounds like an exaggeration, but there are more small details I'm leaving out for the sake of time.) Whoever goes to elements, I'm sure you'll get a good massage, and I hope the rest of your experience there is better than mine was. read more

I have been a client for about two years now, and I look forward to my monthly massage for both physical and stress-relieving benefits. I also take advantage of frequent promotions and love sharing the gift of a massage there. The facility is immaculately clean, and a beautiful and peaceful environment, with very skilled, experienced, knowledgeable and professional therapists. The admin staff are very friendly and well-trained and make everything easy. My subscription to Elements has relieved me from regular back pain and doctor visits, and I frequently doze off during a massage, which is remarkable. I am very happy to have found them after years of massages elsewhere. read more

As I've mentioned before it is very hard to cancel. You have to time it just right. You can't have any credits and you have to give 30 days notice which of course adds another credit which you have to use within 60 days or forfeit. In good conscience, I cannot recommend the membership. read more

I had a lame massage but what really got me angry was that I paid an additional charge for reflexology. All I got was a lame foot massage; clearly the masseuse had no real training in reflexology. I specifically asked about my masseuse's training when I agreed to the additional charge (the charge is supposed to be for the skill, not for additional time). At check out, I advised the attendant that the masseuse clearly was not trained in reflexology. The response I got: "Well, some of our employees are better at it than others." I should have been offered a refund, but wasn't. I regret that I didn't insist. Also, be aware that unless you are part of a package plan, their price for a massage is not much different from the price at the much more upscale salon across the street. My husband and I each got a massage here last month. He opted for regular Swedish while I received a deep tissue treatment. He said he fell asleep rather quickly after his service began, which is a pretty good reflection of how relaxing he found it. My deep tissue was terrific. The technique of the masseuse was a little different but very effective and the effects lasted the whole week. The front desk was charming and they offer a wonderful first timers promotion. A very professional and high quality spa. This was my first time getting a professional massage, so I didn't know what to expect. I now want to go back all the time! I go and see Tania there and she does a great job. She really understands what your body needs. The place is clean and relaxing. And they give you chocolates at the end!! I signed up for the monthly program as it seemed appealing and cost effective. Had some good and not so good massages here; very irregular in terms of experience. I cancelled recently due to their awful rules about cancellation . Keep in mind that i went almost every 2 weeks for massage and therefore was a good customer. In March i had a stomach flu and called within the 24 hour notice period to cancel my massage. They told me i still had to pay and after telling them i would cancel, they then did not charge me. Recently i came down with the flu . Had to cancel again as i felt so sick. There was absolutely no way they would not charge me and i even told them i would come in sick, to which they replied that i should not do that. I could not win either way. They charged me and i tried to dispute it on Amex. They fought me and won. I would never run a business this way (and i have a business) .
