(Thank goodness) I don't remember who my massage therapist was but she was ok. She could have been a little firmer. One thing I do not like (anywhere) is putting a credit card "on file". Another thing that I did not like was the receptionist trying to "sell" me on a membership. She mentioned it 3 times. If I wanted one-I would have asked myself or took her up on it the first time she asked. All and all I have had better massages but I would give another massage therapist a try. read more

I am a long time and frequent client of Elements Massage of College Station, Texas. I happen to have asthma induced by air fresheners that plug in. For months I have been requesting that they be removed. I had to sit in the adjacent room, but eventually I decided to purchase an air filter mask. One of my therapists finally removed it. Alas, he is left them now, and today I saw could smell/breath the air freshener but I couldn't see it. It feels like I am drowning when I breathe it. I have spoken to Holly and Erin several times about it. As I was leaving I saw it hidden behind some books or a stand. I immediately ran out to get my 'darth vader' type air flow mask and put my account on hold. I have asked to speak to the owners about it several times but the fact that it was hidden (as if somehow I was lying about my breathing problem). Right now I am very disappointed and am looking in to finding another place to get my sports massage. Having it hidden, was kind of like the last straw for me. My prenatal massage left me sore from friction, the therapist(Sonja) didn't use enough oil, knotted my hair on my neck and wasn't very thorough. I did reach out to the manager the day after to give her the feedback but no manager was available, so I left a message for a call back. I waited until Wednesday and still nobody called me back. Once I called again, she called the next day(Thursday) and said she could schedule me for a make up and apologized for the experience. When I arrived to my make up massage, turns out it was never completely booked so somebody else was in the spot she told me to come at. I never received the make up massage. I asked for a refund instead and they said they will process it. Currently waiting for it to be refunded to my card. Ultimately she tried to make things right, but overall more mistakes were made read more

I hate to write a negative review, but finding an honest review of my LMT would have been nice ahead of this visit. So here is the brutally honest truth. I am extremely disappointed with the massage I got from Austin A. at the College Station location. I was very clear that I have problem areas on my backside and requested he focus the entire visit to working "neck to glutes." So what's the first thing he tries to address? My arms. Really? I reiterated no arms or legs. No neck either. So what does he do next, he grabs my feet. Once he finally gets to my back, it's excruciating. I don't mind deep pressure, it's what I expect with my hot mess of a back. I know it's going to hurt to work out my issues, but grinding your knuckles up and down my back? That's not therapeutic. It in no way works out the knots. And then his "grand finale" was a head rattling percussion from head to toe. At this point I was just praying for my hour to be up. Maybe he's okay for a Swedish massage, but I won't be booking with Austin again. read more

I have had several decent experiences at Elements. However, the last one was pretty bad. My boyfriend and I came in for a massage and my boyfriend got assigned to Michelle. She didn't come and get him at the scheduled time, the front desk had to go find her 15 min after the start time. She then proceeded to wreak of smoke smell and was obviously on something. She told him to lay with his feet by the head holder. He questioned if that was right and she got mad at him. She then proceeded to "pet him" (his words) and was just clearly spaced out during the entire session. She would randomly loudly bust out in laughter during the massage and when he asked what was going on, she said "oh I thought of something funny". He said it was extremely uncomfortable and told her he would like to leave before the end time. My experience on the same trip wasn't as bad but was less than what I hoped for. I was with David and he was a very nice individual however I told him I would like a full body relaxation with a focus on my legs. He proceeded to spend about 45 min on my neck doing the exact same motion (which winds up getting extremely uncomfortable after several minutes). He then got to my legs and (no exaggeration) rubbed them up and down maybe 3-4 times and then went back to my neck. He was very nice as a person but it felt like a waste of a trip. I've been going to elements for a while now and truly enjoy their services. I typically get the deep tissue massage, which has done wonders for some of my upper-back and shoulder tightness/pain. The atmosphere is peaceful and they service both men and women. When scheduling, they'll always ask if you prefer a same-sex therapist or are ok with a therapist of the opposite sex. I've had both and ALWAYS had extremely professional treatment. The key - as with most services of this nature - is to find a therapist that fits *you* and your needs. All the ones I've tried have worked with me to find what will work best. Unfortunately, there does seem to be a somewhat regular turn-around of staff, which makes it difficult to truly make a long-term relationship with the therapist (but maybe I've just had bad luck in that department) read more

I'm giving a "convert" rating as I formerly was not a fan of this company. In 2017 I had an outright horrible experience with the Bryan location manager and receptionist. At the time, they charged my card for extra services I did not approve this I vowed to never return. A new friend of mine gave me a gift card to Elements for Xmas and I didn't have the heart to tell her I disliked the place. I did have trouble scheduling as I refused to give them another debit or credit card but the appointment was made, finally. I was fortunate enough to be given Crystal as my masseuse. I asked for a relaxing / Swedish massage and she did everything perfect! I have Fibro among other health issues and she used a very caring touch to ensure I was comfortable. The receptionist was kind, professional and attentive. I think I'll be signing up for their monthly plan, but will pay cash (just in case). ;) read more

When it comes to rating an establishment, wether it be a restaurant, Chiropractic Care, or in this case - Massage Therapy, I love to brag on those places of business that garner a 4 or 5 star rating, due to my personal experience. But when it comes to critiquing or complaining about an experience - I usually never take the time to tell about my experience, unless I believe that the business is actually a good place, but just failed this one instance to meet my need or expectation. So this is a mixed review. The establishment and its staff were extremely professional. Everything was clean, the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing, and the demeanor of the staff was very polite. I would most definitely give this aspect of my visit a 5 star review . The introductory rate of $49.99 for first time visitors was very reasonable. Another 5 stars . The deep tissue technique provided by the massage therapist was excellent, deserving 4 1/2 to 5 stars . However, the only reason that I invested the time and money and drove 40 minutes one way, was to get a deep tissue massage in order to relieve the pain and extreme discomfort due to muscular tension between the left shoulder blade and spine (where the rhomboid muscles are located) and the mid to upper trapezius area also on the left side. Despite the massage therapist's excellent deep tissue technique and his professional demeanor, he completely missed the primary target area. He did however do a great job with most of the secondary muscle tension areas. But unfortunately, the primary muscular tension that I entered in with, I also walked out with. This is where I can only provide a 1 star or no star rating. I went for a 60 minute massage and booked with David. I filled out the form stating my problem areas were my neck and shoulders. I also told David more than once that I have knots between my shoulder blades and that the left shoulder is the worst. Part way into the "massage " he asked about the bumps on my left forearm. I told him it is eczema and not contagious. I'm telling you that I have received a better massage from my nail technician! He never touched one area on my back that was hurting an only massaged to my elbows and ankles. I have gotten a better massage with my Homedics chair massager. My partner and I have been to both locations and had good experiences at both, but today I was so impressed I felt moved to write this review. Now, as any person with an "ethnic" name will tell you, that awkward moment when someone tries to pronounce your name and butchers it is something you just get used to. However, the young man at the reception desk today has clearly been trained well in customer service because he asked me to pronounce it for him so he wouldn't mess it up. I came here for an hour full body massage and my therapist was David. The worst massage I've ever had. I told David to focus on my shoulder but he never even touch that shoulder. I went in today for my one hour massage on Memorial Day. I rearranged my schedule with family because I really needed a massage. Once I got to there, I was told that there must of been some mistake because I was not scheduled. I showed the girls my email confirmation and they said they didn't know what happened"sorry" but we have time tomorrow which I explained that I work and that wasn't an option. I asked to speak to the manager which apparently, I was speaking to the manager??? I explained that if I had missed the appointment, I would be charged for the service but if they make a mistake, it's just a "sorry". I have not been to Elements in a long time. I decided to get a deep tissue massage. I filled out the forms indicating what areas I wanted to be massage. The massage therapist was nice. But he did not work on the areas I indicated on the form. It felt like a rush job. I have had several deep tissue massages, but this one actually hurt. It been several days and I still hurt. I called to let Elements that I was not pleased with my massage. I called and filled out a survey on my experience. It has been almost a week since, I heard from them. I called on May 21st. I talked to the receptionist , but she was not any help. So, I am guessing my complaint has fallen on deaf ears. read more

While visiting family back home, I stopped by the College Station location of Elements and they did not disappoint! The location was conveniently right off the fwy, the facilites were fresh and clean, the desk staff is extremely friendly, and my massage therapist, Lydia J., was the best ever. Period. I normally shy away from Hot Stone massages because of past lackluster results but Lydia J. was AMAZING! She actually incorporated the stones into the massage beautifully (rather than just leaving them on my back) and the results were amazing. She was even some how able to clear my sinus pressure and alleviate my shoulder pain issues, without me even telling her they were and issue! I highly recommend this location for a relaxing & affordable massage and Lydia J. as the best therapist there. I will say that this business 'used' to be above average. However, since the beginning of this year it has been notable for the decline in customer service. Not only do you need to book weeks in advance, when I have made an appointment it has been canceled the night before. That and the attitude of the front desk staff is not professional. When asking for the next open appointment,I get a comedy routing of 'what day would you like?' Then three times told, we have nothing that day. When I ask her to tell me when their next opening is, I hear well, we book up about a week and a half ahead...For some reason, this amuses the person on the phone and giggling she adds, yeah, we're kinda busy... I conclude by asking, what again is the advantage of paying the monthly membership fee? The reason: slightly reduced rate on massage appointments. I suffered from muscle spasms in my neck and shoulders for a few weeks due to stress and a possible disc issue. Many of my friends recommended massage. I had not had a massage in probably 20 years. Taking the advice of my wife and friends, I scheduled the appointment at Elements at the College Station location. I was paired with Joe who has many years experience dealing with athletic and rehab injuries and therapy. After listening to my issues to better understand, he reviewed his plan of therapy with me. He made me feel very comfortable and that's not easy to do. Let's just say this.... after my hour was done, I wished I had made the appointment for 2 hours! It was great! I have been to this place twice and will not be going back. The first visit was ok. The masseuse seemed to be in a hurry but I got the time I paid for regardless. I made sure to communicate that I had lower back pain I wanted her to focus on and she did a great job. However, she really only focused on one side of my body and it was such a noticeable difference. The second time, Elements called and told me the first masseuse was unavailable (30 min before it was time) but they had someone else available for the same time and who could do the same pressure. I really should have just cancelled. The pressure was very minimal and I felt like someone was just randomly putting lotion on me. Within the first few minutes I hear her cell phone going off. Yes, during the massage. Then, there were several times during the massage where I suspect she may have been fiddling with her phone. Not great. And, I'm not certain that I got the entire hour I paid for and that's not counting the many times she was fiddling with stuff on the other surfaces in the room with me just laying on the table. Each time the therapist asked what a was there for, what area needed attention. Once beginning they are good to ask if pressure is adequate. I recently went to Elements in College Station. I must say Ive tried many other Massage establishments in the B/CS area and this was positively the worst place of them all. My experience there was dismal first it is a dark and depressing place with bland decor. First: I could hear the Manager and a receptionist gossiping and laughing about a person, using that persons name in a very inconsiderate manner. Second: I waited almost ten minutes past the scheduled time of my massage. Third: The male massage therapist was supposed to know deep tissue, he was laughable. Ive had better massage by interns still in massage school. Fourth: As I was having the "massage" done from across the hall and two closed doors I could hear another therapist talking and laughing she was so loud. Fifth: After the massage I brought to the attention of the manager my concerns, She treated me with a totally condescending manner which bordered on rude. Elements is a terrible establishment, the therapists are amateur at best, the atmosphere is dreary, and the management is terrible. Please take my advice as I get regular massages, The only way anyone would give Elements a good review is if they had no idea what a good massage is. It is not worth the time or money.
