Earlier today, my son Winston was experiencing significant discomfort from a broken orthodontic wire that is poking the inside of his cheek and making it painful for him to eat. In addition, he has a very loose baby tooth that is NOT attached to the bracket, and our orthodontist previously advised us that if the tooth begins to bother him, we should have our pediatric dentist remove it. When I called the office to request guidance, the receptionist responded in a raised tone and repeatedly stated that "there is nothing we can do," without asking clarifying questions or offering to relay the situation to the dentist. I fully understand that there are policies and limitations, but the lack of empathy and the refusal to escalate a clinical concern was discouraging--especially while my child was in pain. What I hoped for was simply reassurance, and perhaps a message passed to the doctor for professional guidance. Instead, the interaction left me feeling dismissed during a moment when my son needed help. I am sharing this respectfully so you are aware and can provide additional training or support to your front desk staff. Families rely on them not only for scheduling, but also for calm, compassionate communication--especially when a child is hurting.

Dr. Shah communicated and explained everything to us reached out to see if we had any questions. We opted to have our daughter under general anesthesia for the procedure and the anesthesiologist connected with us ahead of time to answer any questions as well as after the procedure. All of the staff is very friendly and great with kids. Very clean and inviting office for kids. Great experience.

If your child has a dental emergency (like knocking a tooth loose) Dr. Chu can still be reached even during weekends/off hours. I also really like that during our time with her, Dr. Chu's practice has expanded into a nicer newer, larger space yet she still hasn't opted to employ a fleet of associate dentists to whom she could pass patients around based upon availability. Any time we make an appointment I know we will be seen by Dr. Chu herself. I agree with some other reviews that this practice charges more for their service than other pediatric dentists, however we believe they're charging what they're worth given the level of expertise, availability, and quality of care we have received over the years we have been seeing them.

They got to sit next to each other in the dental chairs which made them so happy. They saw Dr. Trishia who was so sweet to them and asked them about their summer plans. She was so professional and kind, and the appointment was done before we knew it. The kids got to pick out a toy and we left with both kids saying they loved it! The office is bright and inviting, and so is the staff. My son loves the fact that he gets to relax and watch his favorite shows while getting work done on his teeth. I love that Dr. Marcus and Dr. Andrew are super communicative about what options are available for my son, depending on what treatment he needs from that visit. I also appreciate the transparency and payment options when it comes to billing. I'm happy to pay more for a dentist who puts the needs of their patients first, and that's definitely something that Dr. Marcus and Dr. Andrew focus on most. Best of all, my son loves that he gets to go into the "secret" prize palace after each appointment, making the drive home a pleasant experience. Thanks be to God that I trusted my gut and dodged having my young son be put under general anesthesia to get multiple cavities removed. As it turns out, he didn't have as many cavities as Suelene Chen had indicated and the minor cavity issues were treated using local anesthesia by his current Pediatric dentist. Parents, if you're being told that your child is "uncontrollable" and for his / her safety needs to be put under general anesthesia to get treated, and also you suddenly have a screaming crying mess of a child that you don't recognize, please get out of this dreaded office and get a second opinion. Also, I should've never let this office discourage me from going in the back room with my son when he got treated. That should've been my first red flag.

At first they blamed it on a former employee they let go but they did that like 3 times after. 1 time understandable could be a mistake on our part or theirs. 2nd time iffy... 3rd time something wrong... And we usually put all appts in our calendar in our phone when we schedule so we know they changed the date and time on us. The thing that made us switch dentist's is because my son's crown like broke off and then there was sharp metal in his mouth. I called to see if he could be seen asap so they can fix it or at least shave the metal part down so he didn't didn't get cut or have something worse happen. They said Dr. Novis or the other peds dentist was not available but someone else was available to take a look so they scheduled us in the next day. We go in and the ortho looks at him. She goes "Oh his crown broke off that is unusual. I don't think its sharp but I'm not sure what to do... I'm not a peds dentist so I can't do anything ... " so I'm like wtf did i bring him in if she can't do anything.... total waste of our time. But to put the cherry on top... we check out and Brian goes oh my that's highly unusual that the crown would break like that it might be a manufacturing issue.... I'll have the dentist follow up with you tomorrow when she comes in... Days go by and NO follow up whatsoever. Good thing when the ortho couldn't do anything, I started looking for a new dentist and they were able to look at my son's crown next day and made sure it wasn't sharp when we left their office and gave us a plan. A tooth Doctor For Kids is a joke. Go somewhere else if you want your kids teeth to be actually taken care of.

We scheduled an 8:00 a.m. appointment for two fillings for my daughter. Before booking, I…read morespecifically asked how long the procedure would take and was told 20-30 minutes, so we planned our morning accordingly and arrived before 8:00 a.m. However, five or six families were also scheduled for 8:00 a.m., and it appeared the dentist had just arrived while team huddles were taking place as patients waited. These types of internal meetings should ideally happen before the first patient appointments begin. We were called back around 8:10 a.m., but then waited in the room for the dentist, who was seeing another patient. The dentist did not come in until after 8:30 a.m. The procedure itself was quick and finished by 8:45 a.m., but only one of the two scheduled fillings was completed. Because of the delay, my daughter was late to school and I was late to a 9:00 a.m. meeting. We made every effort to arrive on time, but the office did not appear ready to begin seeing patients at 8:00 a.m. Respectfully, if the office cannot begin appointments at that time, patients should be scheduled later. The delay had ripple effects on the rest of our morning and felt disrespectful of our time.
