Today is Friday, June 10, 2022, at 6:55pm and now my garage door will not close. I've been in my garage for the last 40 minutes trying to troubleshoot and contact Mister Garage and his technician, Juan. I initially spoke to someone when I called Mister Garage; however she told me to call back on Sunday. I told her it was an emergency and she said that she was going to try reaching someone. Nope. I called back and of course I got the answering machine. Also called and texted the technician and received no response. In fact the technician's phone was even turned off. Both sensors with lights and no clear obstructions and now I'm stuck on Friday afternoon. Now I have to call another company altogether and pay for emergency afterhours service. UPDATE JUNE 11 2022: Called AMR Garage Doors & Gates last night after multiple attempts to reach someone at Mister Garage and Juan, the installation technician. AMR answered their phone right away and had my garage door fixed within an hour. Turns out that while there were lights on the sensor, the wiring was loose and a minor slight finger tap to the wiring could cause the sensor light to turn off on both sides. And this was a brand new garage door installation!?! What's up with that Mister Garage?? AND still no phone call or text from Mister Garage or Juan, their installer. Terrible support for a new installation under warranty. Thank goodness AMR came to my rescue! Door was fixed by 8pm last night.

We like to work with local small businesses whenever possible. We had worked with Jaime in 2021 on…read moreanother garage door replacement and decided to call on him again. On January 31, 2024 we paid a $2k deposit towards a garage door and opener replacement. It was a special order so Jaime said it would take up to 10 weeks for installation. We had to keep reaching out to get status reports and to finally set a date for installation in April. The day of installation they were a no-show. Jaime told us the garage door was stolen from the warehouse and a rush order was placed for a replacement that should arrive by May 28th. Then Jaime said the warehouse had no power and they could not tell us if the door had arrived. We requested a refund and he told us the check was mailed on June 28th. It is now AUGUST and we have not received delivery/installation or a refund. Needless to say, we feel swindled. Jaime abused our confidence, lied and cheated us out of our hard earned money. We filed a complaint with the BBB and if that doesn't work to get a refund from Jaime, then we will proceed with a small claims court case. Note that when we dug deeper into it, he uses misdirection (multiple business names: AJ's By Design Garage Door Services (Previously Garage Door Guys Of Houston) or also Jaleloco LLC). Address listed in his emails is not valid (it's a storage facility). The warehouse facility he told us was responsible for all the issues, National Door Centers Inc, does not appear in any searches in Houston TX. We had not checked all this before because we had worked with him in the past and trusted him. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

This morning I was about to leave for an important appointment. The garage door made some crazy…read morecranky noises as it opened, but I was able to get the car out. When the garage door came back down, it sounded like an airplane crash, with metal squealing and twisting and even a few pieces of the door falling down. It jammed completely half-way down and at an angle. I wondered if we would be able to get same day repairs at all, since it seems that so many service business have gone downhill. My wife recalled that her father always used Big Edd over the years. So, we called Big Edd's at 8 am, and were told that Lewis would come over around 11 am. He arrived right on time, gave us very good recommendations about repair, but we decided to do a complete replacement of the garage door with all new parts - including the garage door panels, tracks, rollers and springs. We retained only the old motor. Lewis was back with all the parts around noon, and finished the job around 3:30 pm. Great value for same day service! We could not be more pleased, and highly recommend Lewis without reservation.
