About working at EMG. I must say that the job itself is easy, however, there are some downsides to working here. The events sometimes are really far, so you must try to avoid expensive toll roads; you don't get compensated for toll expenses. Employees are not allowed to use their phones from the moment they enter the venue, which can be inconvenient for some. The dress code requires all-black formal clothes and prohibits black casual shoes and black regular pants. It's worth noting that the company does not provide any compensation for purchasing formal clothes. So it's important to be aware that the company has strict policies regarding phone usage and dress code, and failure to comply with these policies will result in termination without like ANY warning. Another thing to keep in mind is that tips are given at the end of your shift with envelopes, but they might not be shared with you if you are new, if your colleagues don't like you, if you are set up to do the job in the next room, if they see that you are checking your phone, which can be frustrating and demotivating. Lastly, it's worth noting that the job is seasonal, and they will give you jobs sometimes once every two weeks or every two months, which makes it less stable than other jobs. read more

EMG...oh man, so good!! Our wedding was on April 6th and I don't even know how to thank them. Bryan and his team were amazing. The music was the best and Bryan is a natural on the mic. It was important to me and my husband that our MC was not a goofy 90's hype man. Bryan was so cool and really worked to figure out exactly what we wanted. Everyone's taste in music is different and he did the greatest job getting to know us to find out what we liked and then our guests as well. He kept us smiling and laughing! He was clear with announcements, kept our entire party on the dance floor all night, and wasn't cheesy or over the top. We rented the mirror photo booth which was a big hit. We got a book of photos at the end of the night that are truly priceless! Bryan made the planning process fun and easy and helped to keep our event running smoothly. Ok wow!!!! Where to begin - Mike and his staff (specifically Austin who worked our wedding) made our whole experience a 10/10. He played EVERYTHING we wanted and hit every genre of music. We received multiple calls and texts saying how fun our wedding was and that they have never seen a more packed dance floor (we had a Thursday night wedding too!) the music really sets a vibe for a wedding and Austin NAILED it. Not only did we love our DJ, we had a pianist and violinist play during our ceremony and cocktail hour and that added a whole new level of beauty. EMG's professionalism from our first meeting to the day of our wedding was out of this world and they killed it from the beautiful music they played at our ceremony, executing the musicality of our custom cocktail hour playlist flawlessly, and reading the vibe of our guests and putting together an excellent mix of music throughout the night. Tom and Mike have amazing energy and know how to work the crowd. We added on additional service from EMG, such as uplighting which was beautiful, and their mirrored photobooth which helps to document all of the funny moments you may have missed throughout the night because the photobooth attendant places all the photos in an album for you! From the moment we began working with EMG, they were responsive and so easy to work with. We set up 2-3 zoom meetings before the wedding. The app they use is so easy to work with. Our DJ was Bryan, and he was the best! He knew the vibe we were going for, played off of our playlist, and was able to read a room quite well. When he played songs I didn't like, he could tell from across the venue, and smoothly transition into a song we liked more! Bryan was so personable, and actually double checked how to pronounce each bridal party member with each person before the introductions - the maitre d even commented that he's never seen that done before.
