First mother of bride dress ordered at Elegant Bridal Boutique came in wrong size by a landslide. I had to pick a dress that was not first choice or color. I ordered a second mother of Bride dress for my other daughter. No communication via call or email. No answers for two months . 5 weeks before second wedding I get a refund with no apology or call. No dress for my second daughter's wedding!!! Horrible experience. Do not buy a dress from this shop. Plus the alterations cost more than your dress. No call No apology !! I let my bridesmaids roam through the store and try on whatever dresses they liked, they chose 2 dresses and each ordered it to their liking according to length and sleeve choice, all in one color. I went to this shop to look for a dress for my senior prom. to say the least I left feeling ashamed and upset. At first our experience there was wonderful, but then my mother told our consultant (I believe her name was maddy) that our budget was 200. After my mother told us what our budget was she refused to let me try on dresses, she made me feel like my mother and I were not good enough to shop there and ruined my prom shopping experience. This is a wonderful place to shop for your wedding gown, bridesmaid dress, prom or wedding guest. The good.... The owner and her staff are wonderful. They make you feel special and important. They take their time and let you decide what you like. The owner is honest and sweet and she will help you flatter your shape. The samples are in a bigger size (mostly 10 or 12) but then they clip it all up the back so it looks like your size. They have tons of options in may colors and styles They are a rack in the back of deep discounted gowns and dresses I can not say enough good things about the owner. She is caring and professional. She isn't trying to get you to go for the most expensive dress. She is trying to get you to look your best!! The not so good..... They offer alterations though an independent seamstress. They have no control over her prices or policies, I found she was not so great. She rushed me and charged a lot for the little bit of work she did. When I expressed my concerns. I didn't like the way it looked she basically blew me off. She said it was fine and made no attempt to fix the issue. I ended up taking the dress to someone else and paying AGAIN to have it fitted properly. I SAY GO GET YOUR DRESS HERE but maybe get it altered elsewhere or bring along a bridesmaid with a strong personality so you don't get walked on during alterations :) read more

The woman who runs this shop should be ashamed of herself. Be warned that she takes your money in advance, and then refuses to reorder/refund the money when an error is caused by her own mistakes. She provides no customer service and is incredibly rude. My mother went to Elegant Bridal to buy a dress for my wedding. She found a short dress, and ordered it in her measurements. The dress took several more weeks than specified to come in. When it did come in, it was not the dress she ordered. The dress was a floor length gown and a different style all together. The woman lied to my mother saying that the dress was floor length because my mother was too short. If my mother wanted a knee length dress, than it has to be altered to make it that way. It's funny how my bridesmaids, who went to David's Bridal, all got knee length dresses with no issue. The woman refused to order the actual dress my mother asked for, or refund her money. She told my mother all sales are final ... My mother then went to the seamstress at the shop to get the dress fixed to fit her. That too was a disaster. The dress did not fit her still, even after alterations. Again she was told, she was just out of luck. I would never recommend this shop to anyone! Buyer beware! read more

I first went here with my daughter to buy a prom dress in 2008. The owner Mattie was very nasty, so I guess you could say it was my fault for coming back 5 years later to look for bridesmaid dresses. I can't say enough negative things about this place. When I went there in January of 2013 with my daughter, the owner puts on her phony act and tries to be nice to snag a sale. She promises my daughter that she will order rosettes for a sleeve that wasn't on a dress and she will do it free of charge. Well, the dress comes in July without the promised rosettes. So I inquire about it and she says, sorry, not my fault too bad. I point out she wrote that on the contract agreement and promised her. I told her I wouldn't have ordered the dress if the rosettes weren't coming. She starts screaming at me and telling me that I didn't pay for it so what's the big deal? Then she tells me to hire a seamstress (and pay for it myself) to have her cut the bottom of the dress and have her make the rosettes. This lady became like a monster and started telling me off and saying things like "I wish I never promised you anything", she kept cutting me off every time I would try to politely speak to her. Other bad experiences throughout this whole thing. Before the rosette incident, I went to look for MOB dresses for myself. She was helping another customer so she told me to look through the books and pick out the ones I liked and she'll call me back. I took about an hour (her husband and sister were there too) and I picked out about 8 dresses that I liked. I left her my phone #, but she never called back. No lie, I must have called the shop 10 times (and left my ph # each time) and NEVER a call returned. I also e-mailed them 3 times, same thing, completely ignored. What kind of place is this? Very unprofessional. When I tried to purchase shoes there for myself, she said, "We're not a shoe store, why don't you get them somewhere else?" And Lord forbid you are just browsing in the store, not buying anything that particular day. She frowns upon it and lets you know. Trust me on this one. She is only in business this long because she is only one of two places in the Poconos to shop for wedding attire (and the other one is almost as bad). She wouldn't last 2 minutes elsewhere. This is your wedding/prom day...Ask yourself...isn't it worth taking an hour trip to Scranton, Allentown, Palmerton, or NJ to make your experience the happiest it could be? Just because of Elegant Bridal Boutique's convenient location, don't get sucked into purchasing anything here. I walk in here to take a peek around and was immediately told I couldn't walk around and look at anything. I've never heard of such a thing in the store. I had a bad experience with this store. The owner was rude, disrespectful and noisy. I went to the store to look for a wedding dress and a wedding guest dress. When the lady saw me at the store she asked me if she could help me. I told her that i was looking around but i will let her know when I need help. So, she asked if I was a bride. Before I could answer the question, she asked me if I was just pretending to be a bride. She asked me and then answered her own question without giving me time to answer or explain what I was looking for. Then, she told me if I wanted to look for a dress I have to have a date for the weeding. I told her that I did have a date but, she did not listen, questioned me and was very rude. Anyways, avoid this store as much as you can. I went to another store and bought the two dresses that I was looking for. I spent about $900.00. Maybe it is not much money but, if we think about how many people this lady has been disrespectful to and how much money (even small amounts) a business can lose like that then, you will be able to understand why a store that has been in business for so long is still a small and unorganized place. Just look at the owner and her behavior and you will have your answer. So, don't waste your time dealing with people like this lady.
