Audrey is amazing, love her ability to cut my hair without taking too much off and sustaining a cute look. She has long hair so she knows how to properly take good care of it. The people are nice but they messed up my hair pretty badly right before a few events I had coming up. 1. I look bald (that's not a fade) 2. The "fade" is uneven on both sides 3. I've had bad experiences with other previous salons in Chinatown. I was expecting to get an…read moreokay-ish haircut from this one due to lack of reviews. When I walked in, I saw two male stylists and I was starting to feel disappointed since I've never had my hair cut from a male before. English isn't their first language but they do understand the basics. I never got the name of the guy who was attending to me but he was young with blonde hair. I was feeling even more disappointed because I assumed since he is young, he will be inexperienced too. Washing: It was the best I've had compared to other others. Usually I'd get a short head massage for a min or two but this guy massaged for quite some time! The massage was lovely too. It took about 15-20 minutes for the entire wash. Cutting: I wanted to get a trim only because I wanted to keep my long hair length. The guy took quite some time trimming as well. I wouldn't complain about the time spent since he looked like he was trying to be careful. As for my bangs, I wanted straight, full bangs but he was debating for a few minutes and said that side bangs would probably look better on me. I didn't want to argue so I let him cut side bangs for me. I liked my haircut and my boyfriend also thought the guy did a good job too. Blow Drying: Again, he took a bit longer to dry my hair compared to other stylists. He was thorough in drying my hair and not a single place was wet. Other comments: This is my first salon where the stylists actually sit on chairs instead of standing. In total, I probably spent around 1h and 15mins in there. There was no idle chat which I prefer because I hate it when they try to pry into your personal life. I came in late morning and I didn't have to wait either. He did recommend a hair service instead of trying to push a service onto me. I tipped the guy nicely since I liked my haircut. I was happy with the total price as it was cheaper compared to other popular salons in Chinatown. I'd definitely come back to this salon for another haircut from the same guy and looking forward to colour my hair at this salon too.

The hair stylist asked me what size I want and I showed her a picture of previous haircut (I have gone to this place many a times in the past years and have shown the same.similar pictures to get haircut done). She belittled me for not knowing the size that I wish to have. 3. The hair stylist assumed that I am "Indian" since I have brown skin and told me it's not India where you just say "Medium" length. I acknowledged my ignorance but she went on to lecture me how I should tell other barbers exact number next time 4. The hair stylist was in a rush and just wanted to get done with me. I seemed like a piece of trash that she just wanted to throw. She finished my haircut with least care and even hurt me (not significantly). OMG. People, STAY AWAY from this horrible place. Although this hair salon claims that they are…read moredifferent from "Allure Salon Hair & Spa," they are indeed run by the same owner. Since they had such terrible reviews, they just changed the name of it and hired new hair designers so that it looks like a different place. I did a $100 digital perm last week and was "forced" to pay $25 by the owner. She claimed that the hair designer deserves to be paid $25 because he did such a great job. It's hilarious that the owner tells you how much tip you should pay, right? BTW, they also charge additional $5 for shampooing (for men's hair cut) You might think that they offer you a good deal, but the price tag becomes hefty once the owner adds up what she things the hair designers deserve to be paid. Very likely, she is not paying them well, and asking customers to pay after they enter the hair salon. When there are millions of other hair salons in the area, why would you go to this place? If you choose to go, I can guarantee you that the owner will tell you how much you should tip and will snatch it from your wallet. This place is awesome! Excellent cuts for a good price!…read more I came in and saw a massive line, but a barber named Lui offered to cut my hair immediately. He did an excellent job, made pleasant conversation, and you could tell he had a lot of experience cutting hair. He even used a straight edge razor to get a close shave around the neck and ears. The cut was around $20 overall and I'm really happy with it! You may have to wait a bit normally, but if you want to get more than your money's worth I recommend the wait. Another thing to note is that it is a unisex haircutters, not just for men. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a new barber. I will for sure be back again when my hair grows out!

I had spent a very long time growing my hair out, so having that much cut off when I specifically asked for only 3 inches was absolutely devastating. My hair is now significantly shorter than I wanted and i'm extremely upset. The stylist I was given was named Bita. She was incredibly rude, making comments about my hair as well as my earrings throughout the appointment and was very snoopy when I was tipping which was highly unprofessional. On top of all of that, the haircut felt incredibly rushed. She had another client after me and cut my hair so quickly that I felt like she was more concerned with finishing my appointment than actually taking the time to do what was asked for. I do not recommend this salon especially if booked with Bita. I definitely will not be returning.
