This is a copy of the email I sent as a complaint following the service. I never got an answer, never got money back or anything else for that matter.
Please don't use this company. They are irresponsible and you can find a lot better for the same price. Pictures that were sent are copied below.
"Dear Elbow Grease Cleaners,
I would like to make a formal complaint following my end of tenancy cleaning on September 3rd 2012 at Flat 17 .
I had ordered end of tenancy cleaning as well as carpet cleaning which had been booked well in advance.
I was not there to receive or supervise the people but did decide to come have a look at around 17h35 today. When I arrived, the appartement was a mess, the furniture in the bedroom had been moved to the middle of the living room. The bedside tables were on the bed with some other drawers from the other furniture. The living room table was pretty much in the middle of the living room and was not properly placed. And, also in the living room, the cushions were not properly put back on the sofa. I could not leave the flat as it was as I was suposed to hand in the keys by tomorrow morning before 9am as the inventory guy was scheduled soon after and the new tenant was going to move in at midday.
Seeing this, I called the company immediately (17h49), and it was not until about 45 minutes to an hour before that I was told the cleaners were on their way back and were going to be in the flat in about 30 more minutes. I had to call every fifteen minutes or so, because they were still showing no sign of getting close to the flat. After more than an hour, three rude and clearly annoyed cleaners walked in to the property. They finally arrived at 20:02, so more than 2 hours after I first made the call to tell someone about my problem. At this point, I paid what I had to (although I clearly did not want to after waiting for two hours!).
The girls watched the guy put the 'big furniture' back to the room but in the wrong place, he put it against the window and not against the wall. After only moving one piece of furniture, one of the girls said quite rudely Can we go now? Are you happy? At this point, I considered the cleaners to be useless and very rude so my boyfriend and I had to move the bed back in place and move the bedside tables off the bed and put the other things away.
The cleaners left without saying goodbye or thank you or anything. They seemed like they were ready to spit in my face. As much as I understand why they were angry, I had to wait 2 hours for this team of 'professional cleaners' to arrive.
Now as for the phone 'help', most of the time I spoke to a manager called Liam or Eli or some short name like this. I sent him pictures of the flat when we arrived (pictures attached in this email) and he said he was going to contact the team. He gave me no explanation for the mess. After about an hour waiting, I called back and he finally explained that, it is normal that the furniture was not put back as the carpet was still wet and needed proper time to dry. I was not told that in any phone conversation with your team as I pointed out. This explanation also came about 40 minutes or an hour after I first called explaining the problem so it makes me doubt the validity of that claim. If it was 'normal' he would have said so straight away when I called at 6:30.
At this point, he was becoming quite rude to me and was speaking very angrily at me, interrupting me and not letting me speak. He also said that it was normal that the furniture was not put back. I asked if I could call back tomorrow to speak to a manager or director / supervisor. He said that this was not possible explaining that he was a manager, when I asked to speak to his boss, he said it was not possible providing no further explanation as why I would not be given the right to speak to his superior. Nonetheless, he spoke to me very rudely, interrupting me very often as he did not agree with what I was saying. He also raised his tone with me quite often and would not let me speak or listen to what I was saying. After waiting for two hours, I had to raise my tone to get heard.
I am generally quite scandalised by the way the situation was handled by your team and by the way the furniture was just left there. My hypothesis was that since the cleaners had heard nothing of me all day, they did not think I was going to check and therefore left everything as a mess. Can you imagine my landlords face seing this? Would I have gotten my deposit back?
Also, I just want to add, that if the explanation was that the carpet was not clean, it does not explain why the furniture was basically in 2 different rooms and with the drawers all over the place and the bed. It also does not explain why the cushions were not properly placed on the sofa, why the table was not properly placed in the living room and why the kitchen drawer where the cutlery is was also a mess. I also want to point out, although it was the least of my read more
