I also didn't like that she then said, "we are pretty much appointment only" then lock the doors and say you are closed for lunch and change everything to say appointment only. Providers like this make it a circus act to get seen and I'm tired of it. Customer service needs work.

I love that they have to cover all expenses with me BEFORE providing services, in case I decided my back wasn't worth the cost.... but the price range was well within what my back is worth. I started out with adjustments once a week, but as I got better, THEY reduced the number of times I came in, so they aren't just running me through for my money. Later, I fell and hurt my knee. Urgent care took my insurance's money for the x-ray and tetnus shot, then prescribed ibprofen without ever even touching my knee. My own PCM took two weeks to see me and said come back if it doesn't get better. Again, willing to pay money for my own health, I went back to Dr. Taylor who actually touched my knee and recognized it needed an adjustment, which he made; in and out in 20 minutes. We scheduled two week follow ups, but he told me to come back sooner if not continuing to improve. Today Dr. Taylor was out, so I saw Dr. Whitehead, who first asked if I was comfortable seeing him. Not the most comfortable adjustment, but he really dug into my leg today and actually moved things around and I was immediately stronger, all for the very reasonable price of an adjustment, which also included some nice work on my back and neck.

While I haven't had occasion to visit Dr. Clingan for chiropractics, I've only heard positive things about him. As for the physical therapy, I experienced good results in treating a pinched nerve in my neck. I found the (all lady) PT staff quite likeable. In particular, Lisa, the head PT lady, has a pleasant personality well suited to listening to patients describing their ailments and then troubleshooting them. She never made me feel like I was just another problem to solve so she could move on to the next task. Also, Amanda has a playful demeanor that made performing exercises more enjoyable. And Heather the receptionist was always bubbly, and I suspect it's her singing "Everything is Awesome" in The Lego Movie. I appreciate her efforts in scheduling my sessions to fit my schedule. Now it so happens that when it comes to bills, I'm presently self-pay (with a medical cost-sharing plan in lieu of traditional insurance). So I appreciated the staff being supportive in this area; for example, I felt that Lisa and Heather were trying to sell me no more PT service than necessary to solve my problem, as opposed to milking it like some would. The atmosphere in the gym-like PT wing was pleasant; with Christian pop/praise songs played in the background. Most of the clientele were senior citizens, although I did see a couple of high-school athletes who were recovering from sports injuries. Lastly, I'd like to commend First Choice's cervical traction machine--I like to call it the neck stretcher. It makes the neck feel like it's being yanked on, but I'm convinced it immensely helped me. We showed up to see two qualified individuals behind the desks but you had to get carpal tunnel checking in where they ask the same questions again and again. Finally I had enough and asked the lady to sign me in which she referred me to the machine, but then checked and apparently it signed us in somewhere along the line. Then we were give a tablet to answer even more questions. After 40 minutes passed in the lobby I asked are we being seen today? "oh he's running a tad behind, but you are next." So why did they even want us to show up earlier?!? It is not like I asked to come in earlier and you were doing me a solid. YOU called me. No way you suddenly get 40 minutes behind. This is horrible customer service and time management on their part. We waited 50 minutes before be called. Then we went to our very own waiting room (room that doctor may eventually come to). Waited there for about 15 minutes before they came in to do one thing. That's right, we waited more than an hour to do anything. So if we kept our original appointment time we would have been seen about 5 minutes after checking in instead of 65 minutes. This is why they teach Algebra in school. If a doctor is running a "tad" late...then no you should not ask people to come in earlier. But once the doctor saw us he quickly assessed and treated the patient and let them be for a few minutes and came back to ensure that they were all good and the issue was in fact fixed. He answered all our questions and was great. So 1 star for the staff who called us in early despite the doctor being behind schedule and for the ridiculous wait, but 5 stars to the doctor.
