Fabulous food and very attentive staff. Well worth a visit. You have to try the goat cheese salad.

It is only a short drive from the sea and close to so many lovely Spanish villages and towns you can really see wonderful rural Spain. They provide such a relaxing stay, exceptionally helpful and the food is very great. It is sometimes too tempting to never leave and explore, but you must resist and see this wonderful part of Spain. However do indulge in cooked breakfast, sets you up nicely for a day of exploring. I enjoy the unlimited walks surrounding the Finca, you can walk for miles in almost any direction but good walking shoes are a must. The food is very high quality and I do choose to dine there at least several times when I stay, the menu is always different and seems to take influence from almost any country but with a Spanish twist. For example I love their chicken satay starter or the oh so Spanish sardines, for mains the pork secreto or the Spanish chicken casserole. I have even had the pleasure of fresh pizza cook in their outdoor oven. Anyway highly recommend for dining or getaway.

Unlike what I had in Madrid or New York, they don't mix chicken and seafood in Alicante and Valencia. I told the owner that her food is better than that in Jose Andres' Mercado Little Spain in Hudson Yards, and Angelita was very pleased. But I am sincere. La Tartana prepares arroz for individual groups, while paella in Mercado Little Spain is for the mass. Also I was told that water in Alicante is suitable for arroz. Angelita invited us to see the kitchen, and I was amazed by the operation. It was run by her, her husband, and three sisters. The kitchen is very clean, cleaner than mine where I don't even cook! She explained to us different broths and cookware for various arroz. Her sisters said that it's hotter than 40 degree celsius, or 105 Ferenheit. I could feel it. The family certainly takes pride in their food. I told them that I would return to Alicante just for la Tartana''s delicious arroz, and I certainly will.

Exceptional seafood of all varieties. We shared a seafood paella and couldn't finish it all. Totally stuffed full of every local seafood imaginable. The cons are that the service offered isn't the friendliest, the cocktails barely contain any alcohol (it's not the alcoholism talking, just observational), and the food is simply not good (even though priced fair). To give you some examples that led me to this conclusion: the group I went with was declined a table at the sea, even though during the entirety of our stay multiple tables were free and unused. And even though the table was in the dead center next to the bar and kitchen, the order taking took very long. Further, the cocktails my friend got were more sugary compared to my Coca-Cola, and the food was not prepared well. I've ordered the Sole meunière (pictured). The fish was very large, yet it was simply drenched in melted butter and so chewy my cheeks hurt after finishing my plate. I wouldn't recommend to go here, if only for the views on the sea if you plan to grab a regular beer at the bar (which has a terrace).
