Just friendly and engaged and didn't act like we just business, but friendly. I wasn't even planning on drinking beer. But my homie was like what do you recommend and he poured a sample of some blonde ale and... wheat ale con parcha!! I was like o snap let me have a glass of that. Fire!! I wouldn't call it sweet, but it has that hint. More importantly it was fresh and not funky. I personally find tap beer is usually not fresh tasting and tend to prefer bottles or cans when I drink beer. But that was not a problem here. Tasted brand new and delicious. The location is unbeatable, in the heart of old San Juan. The decor was fun and eclectic. I'm a fan of the elephant personally due to my old school ties with elephant size productions. Oh and it was super inexpensive. It was like $4-$5 a beer iirc. Which is crazy for a trendy neighborhood like this (La factoría around the corner). Great job to the staff at Lúpulo. Parece que tiene buena acogida el desayuno por que aunque está al lado de una panadería el local estaba bastante concurrido. Servicio atento y lo que hace tiempo no veía es que te sirven agua en una vasito de cristal. El ambiente por la mañana es familiar y de amistades que se reúnen a desayunar. El local es amplio y bien decorado para las distintas actividades del día y de la noche. Todo lo que comimos estaba delicioso y servicio espectacular. During the pandemic they hosted movie nights where you'd watch the movies from your car. They have a mug club called Club Foker. As far as I'm concerned, they are the only brewery here with a mug club. I could be wrong though because I have t been to all. They are family friendly, and I think even dog friendly too. I like that you get to pass by the brewing tanks as you make your way to the back. The front is indoor seating. One of the walls has all the mugs from the Club Foker. Another wall has a huge map of the world. You can all the host for a pin to mark where your from. It's cool to see what parts of the island and other countries have come here. In the back there is a permanent food truck. The food is good and complements the beer nicely. I really liked the chicken wings, which are huge (the whole wing). Of course the beer is good. To be honest the beer is t my favorite of the local breweries, but it is good. I really like the Red Ale, their flagship beer, as well as the Vaquera (wheat) which I tried on my last visit. I've been here during the day and the night. Both are nice, just depends on what your looking for. During the day is more low key. You can chill and focus more on the beer, getting flights and tasting. At night it was more of a party with the music and all. Either way, fun place and worth visiting.

Each time we asked, we got the same tired "they're almost ready" line -- apparently "almost" means "when we feel like it, sweetheart." When our drinks finally did appear, they tasted like a rat's backside muddled with regret and garnished with disappointment. And just to be clear -- we're locals. This wasn't about being American or tourist vs. local favoritism. I'm writing this in English so everyone (local or not) can be warned: the service here is slower than dial-up internet and the cocktails are an insult to mixology everywhere. On the bright side, they barely had draft beers but at least carried a decent variety of local brews. So if you do come, stick to those -- it's the only thing worth your time. Honestly, the highlight of the night was still the ice water -- crisp, refreshing, and delivered faster than anything with alcohol in it.
