They are back! I live in Westlake, La and I am proud to say the renovations are complete. Since the old building was the old go to Mexican food option. I decided it was time to bring the family for dinner. The waitstaff greeted us at the door with a smile. The waitstaff functioned as though they were a well-oiled machine- 1st they brought out waters- For me this is a must that water be provided first (think about it hot salsa with no way to quench your thirst!), 2nd the chips and salsa, 3rdthe ordered drinks, 4th the ordered appetizer(s), and 5ththe entrée/dinner food. Please note there were several waiters/waitresses involved throughout the experience, and each of them communicated our requests to the waitstaff involved- We never had to ask twice for an item! I must be honest my favorite is normally the guacamole, but I found their guacamole needs a little improvement- possibly a slight bit more lime juice and salt- If you are trying to decide between the Guacamole or Queso, pick the Queso! I could not be any happier with my dinning experience. All members of my party enjoyed their entrée's and requested we dine here again. read more

Super fast service! Our group of four were in and out in 30 minutes! And I think ever server in the place checked on us while we were there! The margarita was huge but definitely used a sour mix. Been a regular at this place for a while now. They always have good service and food reasonably pric is always freshly made. They recently had a remodel of the restaurant and it looks fantastic. I recommend the Chile Rellano or the Chori Pollo. read more

Service was great but food was nasty, meat was raw on the inside . Asked for a quesadilla and they put the cheese outside of the tortilla for me to put on myself . Smothered burrito was really spicy that's what I originally ordered for me but was too damn spicy my face turned red I had to switch foods with my husband. El Tap is phenomena. I absolutely love the food- always out so fast and fresh and from a person that doesn't typically like Mexican cuisine- I would eat any dish they have to offer. I took my little brother to eat there last night and they were so kind to us, so welcoming- it felt like walking into a family reunion. My husband and I stopped in here for a quick lunch on a Monday. It was pretty busy, but we still easily got a table. If you are dining in, you sit and order from the table and pay at the register when you leave. If you want it to-go, you can both order and pay at the register. A basket of chips and 2 salsa bowls were brought to our table, but I just thought the chips and salsa were so-so and the chips weren't really warm. I ordered the Quesadilla Rellena with the shredded chicken option. Because of the refried beans added, it was more like a flattened burrito than a quesadilla to me. And I thought it was a tad heavy on the beans which made it hard to taste any cheese. Also, the chicken was so greasy, by the time I finished eating, the grease was all over my plate and covering the dollop of sour cream that I was dipping my bites into. Honestly, because we were seated right away and our food came fairly quickly, I would give this place another try just because I love Mexican food, but I would definitely order something different that did not include the shredded chicken in it. read more

My wife and I go here on a regular basis. The chips and salsa are great! As long as you don't go when they are actually making them. The place fills with grease smoke and is almost unbearable. We usually get the fajitas bravas and share. Which is a mix of chicken, beef, and shrimp. read more
